Don't Leave Me

Heh Heh
I know I hinted at the famous Goat Dance of Joy.
But I have to disappoint you.
It doesn't mean I won't have it for you later in the week......
But today I have a special treat for you. Well, it really was for us but you might enjoy us eating our treat.

Leaves!
That's right! A friend of the male person gave him several bags of tasty dried leaves and now we get to munch them all up.

My little studmuffin got to check them out first. He wasn't sure about the bag at the beginning...

...but the publicist spilled them out for him and he munched away.

Then she brought some into our pen.
Mallory had to be a bully goat again and she rushed right up to get her share.

Matthew was there too! Of course...

The publicist made a seperate pile for Abby and me to munch. Wasn't that nice of her?

I just love a crunchy leaf!

So does Abby.

I was giving Matthew a bit of the stink eye here. I really wanted him to move so I could eat some more.

We all had a nice taste of something we don't get to eat very often. All of our trees are pine trees. There is one more bag left so I know we will have another tasty treat on another day.
Yummy!

Goat Olympics Round Up

It is that time when the Goat Olympics must come to an end.
I know.
It is sad but we can't stay in competition form all the time. It would just be too hard.
A goat has to have SOME time off.
It was a good year for The Happy Goats.

Abby took the gold in Field Lounging. I think it was her smile that took her over the top in the points.

Mallory and Matthew took the silver in Synchronized Dirt Eating. They were beaten out by a team from another Farm. But Matthew is young and he will learn.

I of course won gold in Basking. I have been basking for years and no one can out bask me.
Don't even try....

Tomorrow we will have the closing ceremonies and I will hopefully have the goat dance of joy for you.
Keep your hooves crossed!

AbbyDay - Who's That Knocking?

It's Friday and that means it's AbbyDay - the best day of the week!
I don't know what happened but I went to the trailer to type up the blog and
NO ONE ANSWERED!

What was up with that? Did the publicist not want me to type the blog?
Is she firing me?

Obviously she let me in or you wouldn't be reading this....
You can see how excited I am when it is my turn to blog; my tail is a wagging!

Tomorrow:  Goat Olympic Roundup

Happy Goats Video Extra! - The Goat Olympics Continue

Since the Goat Olympics are such an important event and they don't happen all that often I told the publicist that having some extra videos this week was OK. She agreed and so today I am going to show you Happy Goats video of the Synchronized Bark Eating event.

Of course we wanted to enter our best eaters into this event. Mallory and Matthew had already won a medal in the Synchronized Dirt Eating so we entered them in this event too.

They did very well as you will see.

The Goat Olympics are coming to an end and I have to say that I will be happy. I am an old goat and all of this excitement is a bit much for me. All of that basking in the sun was HARD WORK.

Tomorrow: It's AbbyDay

(ps: The publicist has another video of Mallory and Matthew on her blog.)

It seems to me there is a very spoiled Farm kitten living around here.
Harumph!

I Compete in the Goat Olympics

Just because I am an old goat and a pregnant goat does not mean I cannot be a good Goat Olympics team member for the Happy Goats Farm.
Oh, no!
I entered the Basking in the Sun competition and I think I blew all of the other goats out of the field!
I mean I have been basking in the sun for 13 years now so I not only have style, I have lots of experience.

We were a bit concerned that this event would not be held because of the weather conditions we usually have but lo and behold the sun came out in full force just when we needed it!

I geared myself up and I put in a Gold Medal performance if I do say so myself - just look at me here -

have you ever seen a better bask in your life?
I do a little stretch and scratch to show the judges that I can make that sun glint off of my fur even though it has been a bit warm and we are entering shaggy time around these parts.

You can see the concentration on my face as I work at my best Basking in the Sun performance so I can bring home the gold!

And you thought basking was all relaxation. Ha!
This is perfect form. I dare you to beat me!

I hope you enjoyed this competition day of the Goat Olympics. It's hard work, but some goat has to do it.

Goatucation: My Rich Milk

As you know I am not just a SpokesGoat.
I am also a milk goat.
Although right now I am on break from being milked because my kid is due soon.
But my main job on the Farm is provide rich milk for the publicist and male person to drink and to use to make my rich soap. The publicist also makes cheese, ice cream and caramel sauce with my milk. And well Abby's and Mallory's too.

Goat's milk is very good for you humans. It is full of good stuff; it has 13% more calcium, 25% more B6, 47% more Vitamin A and 27% more selenium than big ole cow's milk. It also has more potassium, niacin and other minerals. So there is no reason to keep the cow's in business. Not to mention the fact that my rich milk tastes delicious! It is also good for humans that are lactose intolerant - they can usually drink goat's milk.

So knowing all of this why would you all not go out and get yourselves a goat or two?
Just look at this face - how can you resist?

Tomorrow:  The Goat Olympics continue

The Goat Olympics Continue...

It's Sunday so you know what that means! That's right it's

SUNDAY MOVIES WITH THE HAPPY GOATS!

We are continuing with the Goat Olympics here on the Farm - we all need a chance to compete in our best events. Abby cannot get all of the attention.
So I would like to present to you Mallory the goat and Matthew the goat with their entry into the Synchronized Dirt Eating competition.  So sit down, grab a bowl of your favorite dirt and enjoy!

We will know tomorrow if Mallory and Matthew won a medal. I am rooting for them of course! It's always good to have Gold Medal goats on the Farm.

Tomorrow:  Goatucation

A Startled Publicist

I have to admit to laughing at the publicist yesterday.
It's true.
I suppose it was not very nice of me, but sometimes the publicist is very funny.
She was out taking the photos of Abby participating in the Field Lounging Goat Olympics and she suddenly screamed!
What could have caused this reaction?
Tango the cat was there to judge the Goat Olympics.

He jumped up on the fence to oversee Abby's form and he just startled the publicist!

She did not know he was an official Goat Olympic judge.
OK - maybe we should have told her, but then we would have missed the scream.
heh heh
After he saw enough and noted his comments he jumped down and went back home.

Abby did indeed win the Gold Medal.

All of us goats want to wish the publicist and the male person a Happy Anniversary!

Tomorrow:  Sunday Movies with the Happy Goats

AbbyDay - I Will Win the Gold Medal in Field Lounging!

Hi everyone! It's AbbyDay so you know what that means! All Abby - glorious Abby.
Since the Olympics are going on I thought I would show you my Gold Medal form in the great goat Olympic event of Field Lounging. I suspect that you find no other goat has better form and that I will be awarded the Gold Medal!

Just look at me here - have you ever seen a prettier goat?

My fur just shines even in the limited sun.

I stretch to scratch at my leg and you can see my goat muscles. Mmm! I am gorgeous!

Young Matthew could learn a lot from studying me. It will be many years before he even comes close to being medal ready. You can see I am giving him some tips. I can be a helpful goat.

I even attempted a big smile for the judges.

Then my profile...
I don't even let those pesky chickens mess with my style.

And now I just wait for the big announcement! I am sure that it will soon be all over the news that I, Abby the goat, have won the Gold Medal in Field Lounging.

You can all applaud now!

Tomorrow: An unexpected visitor during the Field Lounging competition

The Eagle!

It's a Happy Goats Video Extra!!!!

The publicist took this video a bit ago and she wasn't feeling well today so I couldn't spend a lot of time in the trailer typing the the blog so I thought you might enjoy seeing the bald eagle that visits us all the time.

The publicist said she is sorry it is a bit shaky but she was still learning how to work her camera and it was on telephoto...

I hope you enjoyed seeing our eagle.

Bad Farm Kitten!

I am sad to report today that I have to tell you of the bad antics of Sherpa the Farm Kitten.
Yes, it's true!
When I was in writing the blog I saw it with my own eyes.
Sherpa is a baaaaaaad kitten.
I will tell you what I saw...
The male person was very nice to the publicist for Valentine's Day - he gave her some tasty pretty flowers. I was a very good goat and I did not even take a small nibble. I knew how much these flowers meant to the publicist. She does not get flowers that often.
He also gave her a very nice card - I did not eat this either.
I am a good goat!

But then I saw this! Just notice the look in those devilish sweet little kitten eyes. Don't you see trouble brewing?

First he tried to sniff them - or was he trying to eat them? That's what I would have done.

He seemed fascinated by the publicist's flowers. No matter how many times she yelled "bad kitty" he just kept trying to touch her flowers.

He tried from a box.

He tried from his scratching post.

He was a determined kitty!

I can report that he finally knocked them down to the floor spilling water everywhere!
The publicist was not happy.
The male person was not happy.
Sherpa had a "time out."
Bad kitty, baaaaaad kitty.
But it is tough for the publicist to stay mad at that cute little face.

Tomorrow: Wordless Wednesday.

Goatucation: Can You be Buddies with Your Buck, Part II

Last week I showed you that the publicist and Luke get along very well.

This led to a number of questions that I thought I would answer for you today. But first I am going to post a photo of my little studmuffin because it makes me happy to do so.

He is a cutie, isn't he? Even when he is expressing his opinion of Matthew the goat.

Daisy asked if some buck are a little bit mean - yes some buck surely are. Michael the goat was a little bit mean to the publicist and that is why he no longer on the Farm. He charged at her and flipped her so that she landed flat on her stomach. Then he stomped on her. This was not nice at all.

Carolyn asked if the publicist had to burn her sweater due to buck smell - no mostly because Luke isn't in rut right now. He doesn't stink so much. Of course I love his smell but I know you humans can find it offensive.

jaz wanted to know what makes the "buck smell." Well I will try and be delicate here. When bucks want to attract us does they well, urinate on themselves. All over their legs and faces. After doing this several times a day for weeks at a time....do I need say more?

So I hope this helps answer you questions about the love of my life. He is a very good buck and very nice to the publicist. Even with his big horns he has never tried to but her or hurt her.

Happy President's Day to all of my human friends in the USA.

Uh-Oh! The Publicist Said Something She Shouldn't Have

It's time for Sunday Movies with The Happy Goats!
But first I want to wish all of you humans a Happy Valentine's Day
Don't eat too much chocolate. I wouldn't want you to get sick.

Today I bring you a peaceful video of me eating my hay. Matthew joins in. Blue Guy makes noise in the background. It's a normal day on the Farm.

And then! Then!
BLUE GUY ATTACKS THE PUBLICIST FROM BEHIND!
It's true.
She was just filming us and that rotten rooster attacked her behind.
I cut the video before she could say something that should not be said on a family blog.
But now you know what she puts up with from the newly named Blue Devil.
Forgive her. Blue Guy hurts when he attacks.

Tomorrow: Goatucation

Matthew Doesn't Listen - Just WHERE Did He Learn That?

I am sure you were all shocked to learn that I was a bad goat yesterday.
But I was not the only bad goat.
Oh no!
Matthew was a bad goat too!
I guess I am showing my grandkid some bad examples but what can I say - a does gotta have some fun sometime.

Matthew also decided to check out the pine trees. He hopped right up on his hind legs to nibble away.

The publicist called him to go to the pen but he just ignored her!
Baaaaad Matthew!

He just kept nibbling.
I can't say that I blame him because I know how yummy those pine trees taste.

Tomorrow:  Sunday Movies with The Happy Goats

Yay! The Computer is Back

I am a happy goat today! The computer is back and I can again blog for you!
Since it has been a while the publicist said that Abby would just have to wait for her day and that I could post today. I don't think Abby is happy about this but that is the way things go sometimes.

I need to tell you that I was not a good goat today.
No, it's true.
I was a rogue goat. I did my own thing instead of what the publicist wanted me to do.

I am not being milked right now because my kid is due in April and the publicist says I am an old goat and need a rest.
WELL!
I still think I should have my time on the milking stand! (Don't tell the publicist but I just really want the grain!)

Then when the other does went down to the pen I decided to go over by the pine trees and look around.

I took a little nibble.

I scratched my head. It feels soooooooo good.

I tried to hide behind the tree but I think I am a little big for that. What do you think?

Then I ate some yummy dried pine needles.

It was fun to be a rogue goat.
After that I was a good girl and went to my pen.
A girl's gotta go wild sometime in her life.
Especially considering the coming kid, you know?

I am very glad to be back blogging. Tomorrow you will see Matthew being a bad goat.

Wordless Wednesday

This is an old photo of Abby as a kid when she tried to come in the trailer...

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Oh No!

The publicist has had a major computer problem and her computer is in the shop! She has a very old laptop that she is using but it is not very good and very slow. It also does not have many photos. She also won't be able to visit all of your blogs - that has her saddest of all!

It is supposed to be back Thursday so keep your hooves crossed for her.

I am a Doubly Happy Goat

As you know I am a Happy Goat. All of us on the Farm are Happy Goats. We have a good life; we get hay, we get apples.  But today I am twice as happy because my blog friend Lin has given me an award! She says MY blog makes HER happy. Isn't that nice!  She has given me this lovely award:

I am supposed to tell you 10 things that make me happy! That is easy:

1. grain
2. apples
3. hay
4. my studmuffin
5. grain and apples together
6. the publicist
7. the male person
8. most of the other goats on the Farm
9. new kids on the Farm
10. scratches on my tail

See that was fun! I am supposed to pass this award on but I want all of my readers to be happy so you can all have this great award because you all make me happy when you visit my blog! But please visit Duck and Wheel with String - it will make you happier yet.

Goatucation: Can You Be Friends with Your Buck

As you know my little studmuffin is the chief buck on the Farm. He has been here for a long time. Some people have asked if a human can be buddies with a buck goat. I went directly to  the publicist for the answer to this Goatucation question because, well, she is a human!

She said that she can't speak for all bucks but she is very friendly with my little studmuffin. It could be because he came to the Farm when he was just a kid goat. He was only two months old and the publicist has been working with him for a long time.

Wasn't he a cute little buckling? I knew from the start that he was going to be the love of my life....

He grew up to be the gorgeous buck he is today. Oh hi there my love!

As you can see the publicist gets very close to my little studmuffin without any problems.
He loves to eat apples just like me!

He especially loves to be scratched by his eyes. He likes this even more than being scratched by his tail.

He even tells the publicist secrets. I hope he was talking about ME!

So you can see that some bucks are perfect gentlebucks around humans.
