Yesterday was an exciting day on the Farm - Abby had her kids!
Two girls!
The male person almost fell over he was so surprised.
They arrived a little before noon. The first little doe is mostly white with black splotches
and the second kid is mostly black with white splotches.
The publicist hasn't quite decided what to call them yet but they are very cute, aren't they?
She suggested Scarlet and Melanie but the male person just looked at her.
Abby is a very good nanny and is taking excellent care of the new kids on the Farm.
They are enjoying her rich milk.
They are wearing their goat goats from Texan at night because it is still a little chilly but they won't need them during the day.
It is nice to have kids on the Farm again. They are so much fun.
I know you will all look forward to getting to know them (Lucy and Ethel?)
If it is nice tomorrow they will get to go out for a little bit but they will be staying in the barn for the next few days.
I can't wait to give them a sniff and a lick myself (Mary and Elizabeth?)
So be sure to keep checking back the little goats will be taking over for a bit and names will soon be announced.(Thelma and Louise?)
Abby thanks everyone for their very nice notes yesterday. She will be back to blogging AbbyDay in a couple of weeks.

Sunday Movies with the Happy Goats
It's that time again - can you believe it?
Break out the popcorn - it's time for
I hope you all enjoyed seeing Abby at her most erm, gracious. But I think I would have gotten annoyed at all those chickens trying to eat my lunch too.
The publicist did take the suggestion to heart to upload the video to blogger but she does not have a little filmstrip. She has the newer blogger editor and she is having trouble finding out how to upload videos with this newer editor. She will keep trying though....
Tomorrow: Goatucation - My Four Stomachs, Part II

SUNDAY MOVIES WITH THE HAPPY GOATS
(and chickens)
Today's movie stars Abby and the chickens. Be sure to look when Abby shows how she feels about the chickens sharing her lunch!

Abby Teaches Harry How to Graze
And so it begins...all of the important lessons that little Harry will now have to learn. Today he got one of the really important lessons from his mom, Abby. She took him out for his very first graze. Now that is truly an exciting occasion for a little kid. He gets to explore the world outside of his pen and nothing beats that first taste of yummy greens and tasty weeds. Until you get your first taste of grain. Or your first taste of apple. I guess we goats are somewhat food focused. But with four stomachs you would be food focused too! But back to little Harry's big day.

Harry looks rather impressed by that mouthful, don't you think?
The publicist brought him out of his pen with Abby bleating behind. She put him down to see what would happen. He started - oh no - hopping! It's true. We have another hopper on our hooves. We didn't get any actions shots today because Kevin kept climbing on the publicist's head as she tried to take photos. It made it difficult for her to, uhm, focus the camera.
After Kevin settled down to HIS grazing the publicist was able to get some photos of Abby teaching Harry. It was very nice to see. And it really hasn't been all that long since I taught this to Kevin.
It was a nice sunny day and little Harry was almost lost in the weeds. It almost looks like he is stealth grazing, but he is too young for that yet.
Abby then showed him the tastiest grass to eat and he took a little nibble.
She then took more than a little nibble.
Harry looks rather impressed by that mouthful, don't you think?
All in all it was a perfect day for his first day out grazing and we all had a lovely time.

AbbyDay - Mallory Has Her Date

Hi everyone, it's AbbyDay again and I am so excited to be writing the blog again. I will of course show you my beautiful headshot. What would AbbyDay be without lots of photos of, well, Abby?!
The publicist says I have to tell you a story too. I can't just show you photos of me. I know, I know. We went through this last time. She has told me that if I don't shape up I won't be able to blog any more so I am going to tell you about Mallory's date with Michael the buck. You will recall that Jillian had a date with Michael the buck last week. In it Pricilla said it looked like they were dancing the paso doble. In my opinion Mallory and Michael did a lovely Argentine Tango. There were a lot of sharp leg kicks and much drama in their dance. Mallory wanted to dance on top of her goat house, but Michael wasn't too thrilled with that idea.
They danced, and danced and danced some more...
...until I think Mallory got a bit bored.
Michael expressed his opinion of that!
All in all though I think they had a nice time together. Michael seemed to like Mallory very much.
Of course I will end this with a photo of ME! Aren't I beautiful? Don't I look lovely eating the green, green grass? Of course I do.
Remember to sign up for the newsletter. I am trying to get the publicist to let me contribute to it. You know it will be interesting if I write in it. The pictures will be prettier too. Plus anyone who signs up through May 16th will be eligible for the drawing for THREE BARS of rich goat's milk soap using MY MILK. What could be better?

It's Abby Day!
Hooray! It's Abby Day! My first official day as official writer on the blog. I am officially thrilled.
I thought all week about what I would write about and of course I chose ME! But the publicist said I couldn't write a whole story just about me.
Bummer.
So then I decided I would tell you about the elk that we saw across the river. We always see deer over there and sometimes we see deer in our very own yard but seeing the elk was very exciting. They, like the deer are our cousins, you know. There were two of them and the publicist had to use a tripod and her telephoto lens to get the photos.
The male person said he thought they were a momma elk and her yearling bull. The momma soon went back to the woods. The male person said the elk came because they heard that Pricilla had a baby. Pricilla, Pricilla, Pricilla. It's not ALL about Pricilla. Maybe they came to see me!
The young bull stayed for quite a while munching the grass on the bank by the river. His coat looks shaggy just like Michael the goat's does. I guess he is shedding his winter fur too.
It was fun to watch him but he eventually joined his mother back in the woods.
Of course I will end this post with a photo of me. What better way to start your Monday than with a photo of my gorgeous self?
Oh, and be sure to sign up for the newsletter. I don't care what Pricilla says, it's my newsletter too! Everyone who signs up through May 16th is going to be entered into a drawing to win THREE BARS of our rich soap. The sign up form is on the right of the blog.....up a little from here. Since you know I will be writing in it too you know it will be a good newsletter.

Abby's Last Day as Spokesgoat
Well, this is it. My last day. Pricilla comes back from her maternity leave tomorrow. I have had so much fun writing the blog and I have gotten so many kind comments from all of you readers that I have convinced (there was only minimal butting involved) the publicist to let me do the blog one day a week. I believe this was suggested by one of you and I thank you.
Of course for my last day I wanted it to be all about me but I am going to be a mature goat and show you what you want to see - more photos of baby Kevin. Maybe with a little bit of me. We all went for a nice graze yesterday because it was such a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the sky was a very pretty blue. We went back into where the garden is going to be this summer. I like it in there because there is lots of green grass and old vegetable plants. Yuuuummmmy!
Kevin still seems to like the old hay more than the green grass but he is learning. I think he looks funny with the piece of hay coming out of his mouth.
He wandered around and sniffed at lots of places in the garden.
We went outside of the fence and he started his running up and down the driveway again. He sure does love to run and jump!
Then he had a nice drink of Pricilla's good, rich milk.

And of course for my last post I must show you how beautiful my fur looks shining in the sun.
I also want to thank one of our commenters for alerting us to another goat blogger. That is right! There is another goat blogger out there. Her name is Baby Belle and she lives in Washington State. She is also a Nigerian dwarf goat just like me and Pricilla. How cool is that? You can read all about life on her Farm here.

Abby - Rogue Reporter
I am sooooo excited. The publicist is letting me go rogue just like Pricilla. She must think I am doing a good job. I think it is because of all the nice comments you readers are leaving so I thank you all. Today I am going to tell you about some really cool jewelry. It is made by a friend of the publicist, Kristy from Shiny Adornments. They are on a team together called The Artisan Beaders Street Team and there is a blog full of pretty pictures and good information. It is not written by me so it is not full of goaty stuff but it is still very good. You should check it out.

Kristy creates her artisan jewelry with bold and bright colors so they would look very nice against my sleek, black fur. I mean just look at these earrings; wouldn't they look good on me? That blue would just pop against my fur!

I really like this necklace. It reminds me of a cotton plant. Bright white and pretty. Perfect for your little black dress or your little black goat.

I am sure by now you realize I am not your average goat. I like to have a good time. Whether it is butting a cat or teasing Pricilla I am a party goat. These earrings would accent my reputation perfectly. I would be the belle of the goat ball. And I would bet that Luke and Michael would really butt heads over me if I were wearing them!

Kristy also has a line of handcrafted hoop earrings and hairsticks. I really can't wear hairsticks as I have no hair.
Kristy writes a blog too! Boy is she talented. You can find it here. It is full of fun information about her jewelry making and she also goes rogue! She tells you about many different kinds of products and services. You have to love another rogue reporter!
It wouldn't be an Abby post without a photo of - you guessed it - ME! Have a great day and why not go rogue yourselves. It's fun!

Run Kevin Run
The publicist says I have to write about Kevin again today. I am wondering if I am ever going to get to write a post about ME. I mean Pricilla's maternity leave is going to be over soon and I am going to go back to being second goat around here and what good is that. But anyway here is what is happening with Kevin. He is growing big and strong and he is really starting to stretch his goat legs. The other day we all went for a graze in what will be the garden. There was lots of nice grass growing in there. Kevin seemed more interested in the old hay than in the nice green grass but he is still young.

He did eventually start to notice the grass.
Pricilla and I ate lots of grass. It tastes so good this time of year. We have been eating hay all winter so green food is just yummy.
Kevin has taken to running up and down the driveway. This is how his little leg muscles grow. I think he looks like a rabbit in this picture.
While the little buck is cute you know I have to show one more photo of my beautiful self.

Meet Jillian and Mallory the Goats
As I mentioned yesterday we have two new goats on the Farm! The male person went and picked them up last night. Their names are Jillian and Mallory.
They had been living not too far down the road from us and the publicist and male person had met them before. I must admit that I did not give them a very warm welcome. I kept trying to butt heads with Jillian through the fence. The male person had to hold me back so I wouldn't put holes in the fence with my horns.
Jillian is a bit bigger, has black boots and a bit of a beard.

Mallory has white boots and white eyebrows.

They spent their first evening here exploring their pen. Luke left some of his poop on the spool and they found it very sniffable. Bucks are pigs.

Mallory tried to explore the bottom of the gate but this did not go too well.
The boys were, let's just say thrilled, with the addition of two new girls to the Farm. They went into their "who's the toughest buck in town" act to show off. Bucks!
In time we will all get used to each other and will live in the same pen. If you ask me I should have my own pen all to myself. But that is my opinion. So, as usual I close with a picture of my gorgeous self. Happy Easter everyone.
