You won't have to look any further than the back yard.
The grass is growing.
The weeds are growing.
It's a goat banquet.
Nom, nom, nom, nom.
We are going to be B.U.S.Y. for a while.
We hope you all have a very nice weekend.
We will.
BUUUUUUURRRRRRRPPPP!

Intruders in the Grazing Fields?
As I mentioned on Saturday we were all out enjoying the sunshine and grazing.
But we were not alone!
There were INTRUDERS in our grazing areas!
Can you believe such a thing?
I would not lie!
Look!
Do you see?
Sherpa the Farm cat thinks he's hiding but we can see him.
Silly Sherpa!
What does he think he is doing?
He is not a goat!
Hey! Harry the Farm cat is here too.
WHAT is going on?
Thelma and Alex were munching on a weed tree - yes there is one in the gully so we can still have our tasty treat!
Look who is there!
Is there no where we goats can go to get away from these Farm cats?
Thelma and Alex decide to go somewhere else.
Maybe up where AbbyGoat is grazing.
She seems to be Farm cat free...AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!
Do you see?
Even AbbyGoat can't graze alone!
Stinky the Farm cat is spying on her.
What?! Now Harry is even EATING our weeds!
Harry they are our weeds - you go find a mousie.
I don't care that you want to lounge in the cool, green grass.
WE ARE GRAZING!
Where am I you ask?
I am not a stupid goat.
I am keeping far, far away from those theiving Farm cats.
They will not bother me here!
I am safe!

The Sun, The Sun - At Least We THINK it Was the Sun
Is the sun a big yellow ball in the sky?
We are no longer sure.
We have not seen it in so long we have forgotten what it is.
We THINK it was out today.
We do know it was a nice day and we got to go out grazing.
Thelma really enjoyed herself.
She needs to eat the green grass - she has to keep making that rich milk to feed Alex.
Alex is growing big and strong on her milk and the delicious grass and weeds.
He is learning to be somewhat self-sufficient.
But he can still be a pain in the tchukes.
Just ask the publicist.
He is always butting her and jumping on her.
I don't think she REALLY minds....

AbbyDay - IT'S ABOUT TIME!
I CANNOT believe the publicist took away my day.
Do you think I deserve to be treated this way?
I am THE BEST GOAT ON THE EARTH.
I deserve my own day EVERY WEEK!
PFFFFFT!
The sun came out for a couple of days this week and the publicist (not that I'm maaaaing at her) let us out for a lovely graze.
It was so very nice to eat green grass again.
It was a beautiful day.
I enjoyed my nibbles and munches.
My fur shined in the sun.
I went all over the Farm.
I couldn't help maa-self.
There was so much to eat.
I sampled it all.
After all, I am AbbyGoat!
I am Queen of the Farm!

Happy 4th of July!
It's been very hot in our neck of the woods.
It is supposed to cool down today.
To 90°.
If you ask me, a furred creature, 90° is still hot.
Like you humans we will be having a picnic, but unlike you humans we will not be eating hot dogs.
We will be eating delicious weeds and tasty grasses.
As I keep reminding you - we are vegetarian goats.
I guess technically we are vegan goats.
One advantage to all of that sun is that the weeds grow tall.
Tall and munchable!
Where am I you ask?
Why closer to my studmuffin.
I don't want him to think we have abandoned him.
And I don't get bothered by those little goats here.
It's peaceful.
He keeps watch though.
He would warn the publicist if anything happened.
He would start to bellow!
But it will just be a day of peaceful grazing.
A day of celebration for you human in the US.
Hopefully there won't be too many fireworks.
It's very dry here and none of us want to see the male person rushing off to a fire!
I hope you all enjoy your holiday.
Me? I think I'm going to go take a nap.
I'm tired. The publicist is tired.
She hasn't been feeling well....I gave her a big hug yesterday.
This is my 1600th post.
If it weren't so hot I would do the Goat Dance of Joy!

Thelma Leads the Family
Thelma led her family of goats up on the mini-mountain behind the yurt. But not a certain black goat because AbbyGoat is not led by anygoat! And me? Well, I follow my own lead.
She found some tasty grass and weeds for everygoat to eat.
She is no dummy when it comes to munching!
She showed her boys the best place to find the nibbles.
They are quick learners!
'Cause they are hungry goats!
Louise is no slouch when it comes to tasty greens.
She will show her kids when they arrive in August.
Here she just looks like she might want some privacy!
Silly kids!
My grandkids are good nannies.
Thelma agrees...

AbbyDay - I Show the Triplets How to Graze
It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week. I'm AbbyGoat the best goat in the world.
'Nuff maaaed.
The publicist has FINALLY let us out to graze.
All of this work to get the stupid berry garden fenced in.
OK - maybe I MIGHT have tried to eat those strawberry plants.
I'm not maaaaing.
She did let us out but she watched us like a HAWK.
I needed to get out.
How else was I going to teach my kids how to graze?
How else was I going to show them the joys of the wood pile?
The publicist should understand these things.
It was a lovely day after all that miserable April snow.
I took my boys to the wood pile and let them play.
That combination of grass and fiber makes for a tasty meal.
They had a great time hopping on the logs and taking nibble breaks.
Little Rudy spent some time practicing his balance work for the next goat Olympics.
He is one bold buckling for being so teeny, tiny.
I also showed them how to find the yummiest grass to eat.
This is an important skill for a growing goat kid!
Rory excelled at grass eating.
I have brilliant kids.
They enjoyed their time out of the pen.
So did I.
I was able to eat to my heart's content.
Mmmmm, bark.
'Nuff maaaed.

It's Good to Be Free
You humans would not understand.
You get to do what you want.
WHAT?!
You DON'T get to do what you want?
I didn't know that.
Hmmmm.
Well, at least you don't have to spend the day in a pen with AbbyGoat!
I've got you there!
I was so happy to be FREE.
To be OUT of the pen.
To be munching on the dried leaves under the weed tree.
(No one seems to know what the weed tree is but delicious.)
I was still not alone but at least I was FREE!
My great grandkids don't bother me much.
In fact I am teaching them some of the skills they need to survive.
Just look at little Bruce - see how he enjoys a branch of weed tree?
I taught him how yummy it is.
Soon ALL of the goats were trying to horn in on the weed tree.
So much for my free time.
That is OK.
I snuck off to visit my studmuffin.
He was MAAAAAAING loudly.
He does not like it when we are not in our pen.
It was a nice time out of the pen but it soon ended and the publicist made us go back.
Harumph!
I like to be free.
Free Pricilla!
That's what I maaaaaa!
PS - we all hope that our US readers all had a very nice Thanksgiving. And it is CYBER MONDAY today so I am having a sale in my shop. If you use the code PRICILLA at checkout you will get 10% off!
You get to do what you want.

Scenes from a Graze
A bit ago we were all out on a graze in the neighbor's yard.
He is very nice and allows us to munch on his grass.
It was a beautiful day; the sun was shining, the grass was still green and tender.....
Aaaah, those were the days!
Now the grass is all dry and brown and crunchy.
Almost like hay.
We are glad to get fresh and tasty greens from the garden.
Fall is coming.
The seasons change.

Luke the Goat is One Fine Goat
Luke is feeling neglected.
He maaaas that no one pays any attentions to him.
He is all alone and hardly gets any blog time.
He put his hoof down and demanded a day on the blog.
I am just fine with that since I think my studmuffin is one Fine goat!
Don't you agree?
Even when he is just chillaxin' under his spool he is a handsome boy.
The publicist took these pictures back before all of our tasty grass dried up.
We have not had rain for a while so it is now all brown and crunchy.
But Luke sure enjoyed eating it.
So did the rest of us.
Now we are eating the knapweed and its purple flowers.
Buuuuurp!
My Luke is not exactly a dainty eater but that is OK.
I still love him.
How could you NOT love that face?
But he is MINE!
And don't you forget it!

AbbyDay - I am More than Just a Pretty Face
It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week. DON'T YOU FORGET IT. I have horns and I know how to use them.
I am sure that most of you out there think I am just another pretty face around this Farm.
While it is true that I am quite something to look at I am so much more!
You already know that I produce the best looking kids - no discussion needed there.
I am also a good watchgoat.
I make sure that EVERYGOAT stays in line.
See how intently I gaze?
I am the BEST weed eater on the Farm.
You DARE to question that?!
As I graze through weeds disappear into my four stomachs!
Which means I am also an excellent producer of fertilizer for the male person's garden.
I will not go into that in too much detail.
But the most important thing I have done is to prove a very important fact.
I, AbbyGoat have proven that the grass is...
INDEED GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE!
I am a WONDERGOAT!
