Hey, Make Room for Me

Nick and Nora were eating some grain.
They - and Harley - are the first goats on the Farm to grow up entirely on organic grain!
They do enjoy it.

Then their nanny decided she wanted some too.
As if she hadn't already eaten her cupful already!
Piggie Thelma!

She squashed poor Nora right out of the bin!
How could a nanny do this to her kid?

But Nora was not going to be deterred!
She was going to eat her grain.
Finally somegoat gave up and went to greener pastures.

Leaving the does to enjoy the grain.
Smart boy.

BREAKING NEWS!!!! A Doe is Born on the Farm

The publicist almost fell out of her shoes!
It's true.
I would not lie.

Thelma the goat had twins and ONE OF THEM IS A DOE!
You know by now that we have not seen many does born on this Farm.

So I give you my great grandkids.
They don't have names yet.
The publicist is mulling several possibilities.

This is the buckling.
He was born first.
He is as big as Harley the goat!

This is the doeling.
She is ALMOST as big as Harley the goat.

Thelma is a very nervous nanny.
She is licking, licking, licking.

That or she is telling the publicist to stuff it.
One or the other.

You decide.

We're Glad Pricilla Took the #AppleBucketChallege

Do you want to know why?
Although I suspect you can figure it out.
That's right!

'Cause we got apples too!
The publicist would NEVER just give apples to one goat.
She would make sure we ALL got some.

And she did.
She even made sure Bernadette got some.

Poor Bernadette. All the goats pick on her like they pick on Pricilla.
There was only one big problem.
Alex the goat.
He kept butting the publicist to get her to feed him!
She was not happy.
So she locked him up in a pen.

But he still got apples.
She does spoil us!
She just does not like to get butt.

I do not blame her.
Although for some reason she says that I am "pushy."
Pffffft.
Just because I am an erm, assertive goat does not mean I am pushy!

Is it wrong to like apples!
ALL of us like them.

Especially Luke the goat.
The publicist had to count her fingers after she fed him.
He gets very excited about apples.

Silly Saturday - Family Dinner

Luke the goat and his family decided to have a little family meal.

Isn't that sweet?

"The Grass is Always Greener...."

The publicist does not understand us.
She let us go grazing up by the road.
When she does this she makes sure to watch us very carefully so we don't try and go visit the horses across the street.

What she doesn't understand is our trying to answer the QUESTION
What QUESTION you ask?
The very FAMOUS QUESTION - Is the Grass Greener on the Other Side of the Fence?

We like to try and answer this QUESTION.
Bernadette maaas, "is that grass greener?"

Thelma maaas, "is that grass greener?"
If not the grass, the weeds anyway!

Louise maaas, "is that grass greener?"
Is that you Louise?

Louise and Bernadette maaa, "is this grass greener?"

They all maaaa in response, "YES!"
Otherwise why would we bother to stretch!

I guess that answers the QUESTION!

Intruders in the Grazing Fields?

As I mentioned on Saturday we were all out enjoying the sunshine and grazing.
But we were not alone!
There were INTRUDERS in our grazing areas!
Can you believe such a thing?
I would not lie!

Sherpa the Farm cat thinks he's hiding but we can see him.
Silly Sherpa!

What does he think he is doing?
He is not a goat!
Hey! Harry the Farm cat is here too.

WHAT is going on?

Thelma and Alex were munching on a weed tree - yes there is one in the gully so we can still have our tasty treat!
Look who is there!

Is there no where we goats can go to get away from these Farm cats?
Thelma and Alex decide to go somewhere else.
Maybe up where AbbyGoat is grazing.

She seems to be Farm cat free...AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!
Do you see?
Even AbbyGoat can't graze alone!
Stinky the Farm cat is spying on her.

What?! Now Harry is even EATING our weeds!
Harry they are our weeds - you go find a mousie.

I don't care that you want to lounge in the cool, green grass.
WE ARE GRAZING!
Where am I you ask?

I am not a stupid goat.
I am keeping far, far away from those theiving Farm cats.

They will not bother me here!
I am safe!

The Sun, The Sun - At Least We THINK it Was the Sun

Is the sun a big yellow ball in the sky?
We are no longer sure.
We have not seen it in so long we have forgotten what it is.
We THINK it was out today.
We do know it was a nice day and we got to go out grazing.

Thelma really enjoyed herself.
She needs to eat the green grass - she has to keep making that rich milk to feed Alex.

Alex is growing big and strong on her milk and the delicious grass and weeds.
He is learning to be somewhat self-sufficient.

But he can still be a pain in the tchukes.
Just ask the publicist.
He is always butting her and jumping on her.

I don't think she REALLY minds....

What IS it With Kids?

I do not begin to understand them.
I cannot remember back that far.
I am too old.
I cannot imagine I did this.
I am too sensible.

What you ask?

Standing in my food!
The publicist no sooner put the bucket of hay down and up he hopped.
It's not like the view is better from up there.
It's barely a foot off the ground!

Silly kid!
It's certainly not easier to eat his meal from in there.

Even Louise the goat was shaking her head.
That or she didn't want to eat hay with goatprints all over it.

Thelma went over to maaaa at her kid.
But it looks like she got a little distracted!
THELMA! DO YOUR JOB!

That's better.
I think she gave him a little nip.

'Cause he hopped down and started acting like a normal goat.
This is one crazy Farm!

Thelma Is One Frustrated Nanny

I have maaaaaed at you that Alex the goat is a pain in my tail.
But now his nanny agrees with me.
It's true!
I would not lie!

He wanted to play the other day but she did NOT.
That didn't stop him though - oh no!
To be honest I think he needs a little friend but there aren't any for him to play with.

AbbyDay - I Approve of My Grandkid, Alex the Goat

It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week written by the best goat on Earth.

I am very proud of my kid, Thelma the goat.
She did a good job with little Alex.
This time was so much easier for her.
Last time the publicist had to help Mick out but this time Thelma did it all by herself.

And he is one cute little kid!
But he would be - he has MY genes!

We had to spend today in the barn because it was raining.
AGAIN!
This is two days in a row.
I am NOT a happy goat.

But it did not seem to bother little Alex.
Nope, not at all.
He was practicing his hopping and jumping just like a little kid should.
In fact, he is King of his hay pile.

I Get to Meet My Grandkid - Alex the Goat

I came down to my pen today and was in for a surprise!
It's true!
I would not lie.

I entered the pen and stopped short!
I did not see AbbyGoat in the pen.
I saw something else!
Something very special!

Thelma the goat and my new great grandkid, Alex the goat!
I was very excited!
I am not so sure Thelma was as excited as I was....

I would NEVER hurt a baby!
You do not have to bark at me Thelma!
(Yes, we goats do bark to warn away threats.)

Isn't my little great grandkid cute?
I think he is adorable - but I might be a little prejudiced.

Thelma is a good nanny.
She will take very good care of him.
You can see how tall he is - he is one big kid!

Thelma is maaaaing her joy far and wide.
Or starting to mooo, one or the other.
