My Favorite Posts: Surfin' Montana Style

I have picked this next post as one of my favorites because it includes my last kid, Kevin the goat. I was very sad to not have any more kids. Kevin was a special little goat. I hope you enjoy it....

Cowabunga dude!

We do things differently here in Montana. We don't have an ocean so if my kid wants to surf I have to improvise...

Dare I say, the hopping continues and the publicist finally got some photos of my hopping kid hopping on me.

Little did I ever imagine I would be a prop for a goat. *sigh*

Hop, hop, hop.*

My Favorite Posts: How I Came to Live on the Happy Goats Farm

As I mentioned in my retirement announcement I will be finishing out my last week of blogging by reminding you of some of my favorite posts from my 5 years of writing. I hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane:

I realize that many of you may wonder how I came to live on the Happy Goats Farm. I wasn't born here; in fact, I don't remember where I was born. I do remember where I was immediately before my current home. It was a beautiful place full of goats, chickens, horses and llamas. Then one day my publicist put me and Abigail in a truck and took us for a ride. This is how I, and Abigail of course, came to be at the Happy Goats Farm. But, I will admit, I was not a Happy Goat at first. I missed my old farm. I missed my old publicist. I did not know this new publicist; and let's just say she was VERY unpracticed at being owned by goats and leave it at that. It was a very pretty place but it was not MY place.

I will be honest. I kept escaping from my pen. I know this was frustrating for my new people but I was just afraid and it was all so new. This does, though, lead to a funny tale: one night I escaped and Abigail joined me. We started running, running, running until we reached the end of the farm. We turned right thinking to head back to our old home. I ran, Abigail ran, our new male person ran, the publicist ran and the family cats ran. All down the road in a row. Until I was distracted by some tasty weeds on the side of the road. My appetite allowed me to be caught and brought back to the farm. I will admit I did this several more times; one night the horses across the street also escaped and were running the other way. This is how I met the neighbors...

Obviously I have adjusted to life on the Farm and am now a very Happy Goat. Otherwise I wouldn't have my current job and I love my job! How many goats do you know that are so gainfully employed?

I wanted you to see what I get to see when I am grazing so I have posted a photo of my view. This is a winter view - it is much nicer in the spring and summer.*

I am Retiring

It's true.
I would not lie.
I am an old goat.
I am tired.
I have been writing this blog since 2009 and I think I have maaaaaed all I have to maaa.

The publicist is tired too.
It is hard for her to manage two blogs.

This does not mean that you won't be able to see us goats.
The publicist is going to post about us on HER blog on a regular basis.
The Farm cats too.
She hopes you will go over to it and visit.
She will also be showing photos on her facebook page so you can follow there to see what we are up too.

For the rest of this week I will be posting my favorite posts from the last years.
I can't tell you how honored I have been that you have all come to read what this little goat has had to maaaaaa. It warms my heart.

Know that I have enjoyed sharing my life and the antics of the goats and Farm cats with all of you.
The blog will remain up if you want to come and look through the old posts. At least for a while.

And always remember The Maaaaaa of Pricilla. It's very good advice if I do maaaaa so myself

The Tree-t Goes On

Well, to maaaa you the truth the tree-t is gone but the publicist didn't use the photos fast enough so I'm still catching up. We ate that tree-t FAST,

It was yummy.
We wish we had more.
But there is only as much as there is.

I must maaaa that Harley the goat truly enjoyed his very first tree-t.
He got right into it.
Literally.

He doesn't even let the presence of AbbyGoat stop him from nomming on tree-t
That really maaaas something.
I don't mess with her....

His nanny soon came to make sure Abby wasn't messing with him.
That tree-t sure sees a lot of action!

I will have a big announcement about the blog tomorrow so be sure to stop by.

Show 'em AbbyGoat

The very first day the Tree-t came into the doe pen a certain goat made sure it knew who was boss.
Of course we all know who that was, don't we?

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

Who else BUT AbbyGoat!?!

I'm a Winner!

Not Pricilla.
Me - AbbyGoat.
The publicist entered the BlogPaws Photo Contest for December.
She sent in two pictures.

One of the utterly glorious ME.
And one of one of the stupid Farm Cats.

She heard today that MY photo won.

Of COURSE it did.
I'm AbbyGoat.
How could I NOT win?
Pffffft.

Farm Cat Friday - But I'M Comfortable

Sherpa the Farm cat here.
I do not understand the publicist sometimes.
I think she is there to make me comfortable.

She says I am "in the way of her getting things done."
As if.
She doesn't need two arms to get her things done.

I also don't think she should be taking pictures of me like this either.
So I tried to rip the camera out of her one remaining hand.
Sadly, it did not work.
Just goes to show that she really does NOT need two arms as she claims.

I am going to sleep now.
I am comfortable.
As it should be.

Exciting News!

I have very exciting news.
No, it has nothing to do with the Farm.
But it does involve one of my friends.
My friend Janiss - you know, Summer's human - is putting out a new book.

It is called Rescued and it has 12 stories of rescued cats told from their point of view. It is so nice that all of these kitties have found their forever homes. What is even better is that part of the proceeds of the book sales will go to shelters to help more cats find their forever homes.

You can watch the book trailer to learn about the kitties.
It is remarkable that some of the even survived let along thrived:

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

But I haven't gotten to the REALLY exciting news yet.
I am helping with the launch of the book.
It's true.
I would not lie.
Even though I am not a cat I feel it's important for all animals to be loved and to have forever homes.
On January 12th there will be a Rescued PubSlush Campaign - it's like Kickstarter but for books. You can give monies and get different perks in return.

What does this have to do with a little, old goat in Montana?
Well, this little old goat is helping with one of the perks!
That is right!
If you give $40 you will get this:

Limited printed edition of Rescued, with a thank you page at the beginning including your name, and the name of everyone else who contributed to the Literary Kitty Levels, plus a bookmark and a 4 oz. bar of rich goat soap, courtesy of the Happy Goats

Did you see that you get a bar of my rich soap?
Isn't that very, very exciting?!
It's a cat shaped bar - very appropriate don't you think?

There are only 25 available so be sure to head over on January 12th to be sure to get one of these special perks. And to get a book full of special stories about special cats.

You can follow Rescued on Facebook

First Time Treet-ters

We only get Tree-t once a year.
I do not think this is fair but it is what it is.
The publicist says that she only gets a Christmas Tree once a year.
So I guess it makes sense that we therefore only get Tree-t once.
But I am still bummed.

Tree-t is tasty.

This was the first time those rotten little kids had gotten to taste Tree-t.
Did they stay and eat the Tree-t in their pen?

Of course not!
They came and ate my Tree-t!

Needless to maaaa they found it quite yummy.
And they kept eating it!
Not to mention eating my GRAIN as well.
Harumph!

Don't get me wrong.
I am glad they are growing big and strong.
They are my great grandkids.

But they are very......active.
They like to climb on me.
I am an old goat.
This is why the publicist has put in my very own special pen.

When those three are over here "visiting" it's enough to drive a goat.....

Right into her goathouse for a little bit of peace and quiet.
It's nice the publicist gives me a pile of hay in there.
Those little piggies kids eat my hay too!

I Love My Tree-t

You will recall that the Christmas Tree-t FINALLY made its way out to us goats.
I was very excited about this occurrence.
In fact, the publicist said she hadn't seen me move that fast in a very long time.
I promaaaaa-sed you a movie and a movie you shall have.

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

I do look rather excited and happy don't I?
And despite what the publicist might say I am not making noises like a little piggie.
Harumph!

It's Here, it's Here. The Tree-t, the Tree-t!

Oh, I was such an excited goat this morning.
Would you like to know why?

The male person brought the Christmas tree-t!
And I got first choice!
The first thing I did was rub my head all over the top of it.
It felt soooooooooo good.
Did you know that tree-t made a great scratcher?
It does! The publicist will have a movie of me enjoying my piece of tree-t on Monday.

But first I had to direct the male person in how to cut the tree-t up so we each had some.
It was an important job.
Of course I got the best piece because I am spoiled special.

He did a good job.
He is A-OK in my book.
I think I'll keep him around.

Farm Cat Friday - Bye Bye Tree, Hello Tree-t

We all hope you had a very nice New Year's Day.
We had a quiet day.
It was sad in a way.
The publicist took all of the cat toys off of the tree.

Pumpkin "helped."
I think he will miss having the tree to hide under.
He spent a lot of time beneath its branches.

I think it made him think he was outside.
Only it was warm.

Now the tree will become a tree-t.
Pumpkin will have to find a new place to hide and the goats will start to munch.

All will be right on the Farm.

Happy New Year

From all of us here on the Farm
We hope you have a peaceful day.

AbbySnowGoat?

I will tell you none of us were very happy Sunday in all of that snow.
But somegoats AbbyGoat were especially testy.

They did nothing but bark and bellow at the weather.
As if that would make things change.
I will maaaaa you something - the Goat Stare of Death does not work on Mother Nature.

Yes, I am sure about this.
So don't go giving it to me either.
I cannot do anything about the snow or cold.
And trust me - I do not like it either.

You know you don't have to hang your head out like that you silly girl.
You can tuck it inside your goat house.
The publicist did bring nice new, warm hay down to line all of them for us.

So be like Bernadette the goat.
Be smart.
You can do that, can't you?

I am Hiding

Can you see me?
Would you like to know why?
I will maaaaa to you why.
There are a couple of reasons.

First - IT SNOWED.
Again.
LOTS.
Like 8 inches lots.
The male person had to plow.

The publicist gave me my hay in my goathouse.
Wasn't that nice of her?
But then those rotten little kids invaded my space!

They started eating my hay!
Is nothing sacred?!
Harumph!

I was glad when it was time to go back to the warm, dry barn.
Then those little monsters would be locked up in a pen.

MORE Snow!

We woke up today to MORE snow!
What is going on.
The male person says it's winter and we should be happy it's snowing.
The male person is crazy.

Luke the goat did not seem very upset by it.
He just prowled around his pen.

The publicist found some tracks up by the barn in the snow.
Do you know what made these?

Can you guess?
Here is a close up if you need some help....

...it seems we have some winter boarders around the Farm.
Did you guess yet?

Did you guess bunny rabbit?
If you did you are right!
It's a good thing Sherpa the Farm cat is not going outside much right now as he has a tendency towards erm, apprehending bunny rabbits.

She found other tracks too.
Can you guess what tracks these are?

Did you guess yet?
I'm sure you did!

They are mine!
Hahahaha!
And there are the publicist's.

I'm keeping track too....bwamaaahahahaha.

So, Did you Have a Good Holiday?

We certainly enjoyed ours.
It rained all day on Christmas Eve.
We spent the day in the barn.

Harry the Farm cat spent the day sleeping.
I can't say I blame him.

But I guess the big question is, did we have a White Christmas?
Well,.....

.....sort of.
There was maybe an inch of snow on the ground.
I am not sure this counts as an OFFICIAL White Christmas.

But it was enough for me to be a snowgoat!
At least for a little while.
The snow was all gone by the afternoon but the publicist tells me that very cold weather is coming.

It was a very nice Christmas day.
Sherpa had fun.
But then Sherpa always has fun.

He played with wrapping paper.

And he played in boxes.
He could not have been happier.

We did get apples!
They were very tasty.
The kids have learned that.

It will never be the same around here again.
They are VERY greedy.

We all hope you had as nice a day as we did.

Maaaa-y Christmas

We will be taking tomorrow off from blogging so we are leaving you with this year's soon to be Christmas Tree-t.

The publicist is planning a special dinner for the male person on Christmas and I have heard rumors of apples for us goats.

I am in favor of apples.

We will be back on Friday to let you know whether we had a white Christmas or a wet Christmas. I would like a sunny Christmas but it does not seem that is in my future.

All of us here on the Farm hope that all of you have the happiest of holidays. I am going to enjoy my short blogcation. And my apples.
