AbbyDay - I Go WHERE I Want, WHEN I Want
It's AbbyDay - I'm gonna blog no matter WHAT the publicist says. 'Cause I'm AbbyGoat the best goat on Earth!
The publicist has been letting us graze when it's warm and sunny.
There is nothing I like more than a nice graze.
But she keeps trying to tell me where to go.
ME!
ABBYGOAT!
As if!
For example - I decided to go visit the male person while he was drinking his coffee.
It just happened to be up on the deck.
She seems to think I do not belong on the deck.
As if!
He did not seem to mind.
In fact he gave me quite the nice petting.
There is nothing like a good scratch between the horns!
I don't know what's wrong with the publicist.
Maybe she's jealous.
Maybe the male person doesn't scratch her between her horns.
Whatever!
I'm off to explore.
I'm AbbyGoat - I go where I want!

WHAT are They?
Little Jim was out exploring.
He was running up the driveway and down the driveway.
Running, running, running.
With a little hopping here and there.
Then he stopped.
What caught his eyes.
Luke and Buster Brown the goats.
What are THEY?
He did not know.
On the other hoof THEY did not know what he was either.
Little Jim was not happy with their, erm attention.
He decided to go back to the safety of the doe herd.
Smart Jim, very, very smart.
Those boys play rough!
All of us goats want to say Happy Birthday to the male person today.
He is OLD.

AbbyDay - Sheesh! I Suppose it is Now Going to be All Jim, All the Time!
It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week but do you want to see AbbyGoat? NO! You want to see the kid.
The kid, the kid, the kid.
Pfffffft!
You will regret it.....you will fall in love with the kid and then the kid will find a new life on a new farm and you will get all mushy and what will you then have - ME, AbbyGoat.
But do you appreciate me, NO!
You want the kid.
So I will give you the kid. But when he leaves, don't come crying to me.
After Sarah the goat got him all cleaned up the publicist let them come out for a bit. This is unusual but it was such a pretty day she thought it would be OK. Usually the little ones stay inside for their first day. Remember when you see these photos he is only hours old!
He is quite the little explorer goat.
He didn't want to stand still.
Oh, no!
He wanted to check things out.
He wanted to go! go! go!
This made Sarah very nervous.
You never know what big carnivore might be out there looking to eat your young.
A nanny must be always on alert.
Even if a kid wants to explore.
But all of that exploring is tiring work.
Soon a little goat needs a nap.
And there is nothing like sleeping in the warmth of a sunbeam, is there?

Brewster Gets to Explore
Little Brewster was able to escape the publicist for a bit and explore around the Farm a little.
I guess we were all being baaaaad goats this week.
I took him over to where the good grass was growing and he played King of the Hill.
I know I complained about him but he is a cute little guy.
He then took off on his own to see what he could see.
He was very interested in the old weed bush we goats had been eating all summer.
It doesn't have any leaves any longer but he didn't care.
He checked it out.
He even went deep inside the weed bush to see what was there.
You can hardly see him!
The publicist caught up with him after he came out and he then had to go back to the goat pen. I think he had fun on his first big adventure.

Marion is a Great Explorer!
Little Marion is growing and therefore starting to explore the Farm.
Being a goat one of the things she most wants to explore is the hay pile!
I can't say that I blame her.
I really like the hay pile too - I mean it's fully of yummy hay!
How could any goat resist.
She hopped right up there - well as high as her little goat legs would let her hop.
She explored around a bit
and then she hopped down!
But of course she hopped right back up again.
Her mother gave her some pointers on the best hay to eat.
She tried it out and found it to be YUMMY!
Then she hopped down and went off to explore other places.
I don't know if you noticed in the first photo but she has already learned how to give....
The Goat Stare of Death!
She is obviously a quick learner.
It's great to be a kid.

Just WHERE Did Luke Go?
I am sure you are all dying from the suspense since I left you hanging on Saturday. I told you that Luke was heading up the driveway - where was he going?
That little devil! He was going to go off the Farm!
He started to go across the street to visit the horses. You know how we all like to go visiting now and then.
But the publicist ran after him and got him back onto the Farm where he went over to nibble on the pine trees.
Ooooh, look at that cute little goat! I wish I could run right over there and.....this is a family blog, I will behave.
He then gave his head a good scratching. Those limbs are very good head scratchers.
And he headed back to his pen.
What an adventure for my little studmuffin. He had a great time out exploring.

Harry's First Day Out
It was a beautiful day so the publicist thought it would be OK if Harry came out of the barn and out to the pens. She carefully carried him down with Abby following behind her bleating away. Abby for all her other problems is a very good mother. The publicist put him down and he started to explore his new surroundings.
Abby started to lick him. We mamma goats just love to lick our new kids.
After a bit she calmed down and let Harry just stand on his own. I have to admit he is a cute little guy.

He did get tired after standing around so he sat down next to his mommy.

This must have given Kevin some ideas because he was a pretty mellow little hopper today.
Pretty soon we will see if Kevin is going to teach Harry all of his hopping tricks!
