It is a sad day on the Farm.
Brewster the goat is leaving.
Since Buster Brown the goat is staying some buck had to go.
And it wasn't going to be my studmuffin.
So in today's post we will remember all the fun of Brewster the goat!
He was so cute when he was born.
Sarah was a very happy nanny!
He was such a cute little kid.
We all loved the little chicken marking on his side.
He grew up to move into the big boys pen with his daddy.
He and Luke the goat had some battles.
But they usually got along pretty well.
The publicist is sad as she always is but knows things have to be.
She will miss Brewster the goat.
And his cute little face.

Silly Sunday - Buster Brown Maaaas Out
I don't know what that Thelma is maaaaing about.
I am a smart boy.
I was a big help in the plot to goatnap Pricilla.
She thinks it was all her doing.
Ha!
If it wasn't for me and my cuteness
Pricilla never would have gone into the cage.
I led her in there with my goatly charm.
I may be young but I'm a cutie goat!
I hear the publicist say that all the time.
I'm going to have to have a chat with that Thelma.
Maaaa her a thing or two.
Show her who is boss in the goat pen.
Although I heard something about me moving over to stay with my daddy.
I wonder what that will be like.....

Brewster and Luke are Too Sexy for Their Turnip Greens
It's true!
Just look at those boys as they eat their treat.
Mmmm, my studmuffin really knows how to munch a green.
I think he is the handsomest cowgoat around.
Brewster had his turnip greens up on the spool.
It was his very first taste of greens and I think he liked them.
Luke has had beet greens but not turnip greens and he heartily approves!
There is nothing like a delicious snack in the middle of the day to make everything A-OK.
I heard the publicist say that there would be more turnip greens this weekend.
Doesn't that sound yummy?
She told me that she even put some away in the freezer for the male person.
Harumph!
They should ALL be for us!

Happy Father's Day
All of us goats here on the Farm would like to wish all of you fathers out there - human and otherwise - a very Happy Father's Day.
Where would we be without you?
Even if the two daddies - well one daddy and one daddy to be - on this Farm tend to enter into erm, discussions at times.
Enjoy your day, Dads - you deserve it!

Munch,Munch,Munch,Munch, Buuuuuuuuuurp!
Those boys!
They are pigs!
They go out for their graze and they eat...
And they eat...
And they eat some more.
They love to munch on the tasty green grass.
I can't say that I blame them!
I do too.
But if you ask Brewster what he thinks about all that yummy goodness what does he maaa?
He doesn't maaa....
Brrrraaaaap!
BREWSTER!
Excuse yourself!
Silly Brewster!

When Brewster Met Stinky
It was a bright and sunny day.
The bucks were out for a graze and then it happened.
Brewster spied a strange creature.
A creature the likes of which he had never before seen.
It was small.
It was furry.
It was NOT a goat.
What was it?
He was going to check it out!
He did not care that it might bite him.
He gave it a sniff.
He gave it a closer sniff - he had to be sure.
What is this, publicist? What is this?
Oh no!
Is Brewster - strong fearless BREWSTER
Afraid of....
STINKY THE FARM CAT?!
It cannot be!
Brewster would not run from something as sweet as Stinky the Farm cat?
Would he?
He would!
Silly Brewster!

Brewster the Goat is CAGED!
Now that the tasty grass and the yummy weeds are growing so big and tall the publicist is letting us out for daily grazes so we can do our job around the Farm. We enjoy this job - it is not hard work at all to be munching away on the tender grass and crunchy weeds.
Mmmmm, BUUUUUUUURP!
Excuse me, but a goat's gotta keep those gases moving!
Even the boys get to go out daily to eat their fill.
They tend to explore a bit more than we does and sometimes this leads to well....
It seems that in the big winds that blew through one of the male person's tomato cages ended up in the gully.
It also seems that Brewster the goat decided to nibble something THROUGH the cage instead of AROUND the cage.
Silly Brewster.
He came running up from the gully like well, his head was caught in a cage.
The publicist had to catch him and disencage him.
heh
I made a funny.
She did eventually get him out but he was not much help. He wouldn't stand still!
I guess I wouldn't be happy with a cage on my head either.
I will neither confirm nor deny that the does were snickering at Brewster the goat.
After he was freed he went back to munching the grass - I guess we could call him a free range, cage free goat.
heh

The Twins Go Visiting
Now that the weather is getting nice we have been getting to go out and graze.
I am most in favor of this.
The new grass that is growing is very tender and tasty.
The twins are still drinking milk from their nanny but they are also eating hay and grass.
But when they "graze" they are more interested in playing than eating.
The other day they decided to visit the bucks.
They wandered over to the pen to maaa "Hi" to their daddy.
He gave them a sniff hello and then went back to his eating.
Bucks don't really care much about their offspring.
Then Louise went down to maaaa at Brewster.
He more wanted to be on the outside than he cared about Louise.
Oh well.
At this point the girls went back to their romping.
They sure do like to run around.
I guess I am just too old to remember what it is like to be a kid.
Then Louise decided to join me while I grazed.
I was very happy about this.
She is my grandkid after all.

Checking in with Brewster and a SURPRISE!
I haven't talked about little Brewster in a bit now.
When there are baby goats around the boys of the Farm tend to get neglected.
Brewster is growing up big and strong!
He likes to spend his days up on the goat house.
This way he can see what is going on all around in his world.
But every so often a buck has his attention distracted.
He needs to jump down from all that surveying.
Something important is calling his name!
What could it be?
Of course!
FOOD!
BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!
Meet...
Buster Brown!
Sarah had her kid on Wednesday!
It was a surprise. The publicist and male person went into the barn and there he was.
With all the blogger problems the announcement was delayed until today!
There will more photos tomorrow.

Brewster Gets a Tree-t
Actually we all got a bit of a tree-t but this was Brewster's very first taste of pine so it was fun to watch him.
The publicist found some branches of tree and brought it to us for a snack.
Brewster dug right right in!
He really enjoyed his pile o'tree!
In fact he even ignored the publicist calling him for some extra grain to eat the tree-t.
Can you imagine such a thing?
I can't!
He just kept eating the pine branch.
I mean, I likes me some pine but to ignore GRAIN?
That is one crazy kid.
But then he went and raided Luke the goat's pile o'tree.
What do you think happened next?
You will have to wait and see!

Outside! We Got to Go OUTSIDE!!!!
We were very excited today.
We got to go outside!
After two days in the barn we were ready for some outside.
We ALL did the goat dance of joy as we left to go to our pens.
The publicist didn't have her camera which was probably good since the driveway was very slippery and the goat dance of joy looked more like the goat dance of too many fermented apples.
We had a very nice time outside and then it got all ruined.
As Daisy the Curly Cat might say - our good times got ruint!
What did it?
THE RAIN!
Can you believe it?
Rain after three days of snow.
I am not a happy goat!
The boys enjoyed the little bit of daylight we had.
Little Brewster settled down in the hay.
It took him a bit.
Luke was not letting him out of the deep snow at first.
He looked pretty funny; the snow was almost as deep as Brewster.
The male person made rude comments about frozen bits on Brewster but I will not repeat them here. This is a family blog.
When it was time to go in Brewster let loose some really (REALLY) loud maaaaas.
He has big lungs.
Luke the goat enjoyed his time out too.
He just spent the day enjoying the fresh air and eating hay.
When we went by on our way to the barn he gave us his best "hey baby" look.
I, for one, was not impressed.
I think it's the baling twine.
It ruins the effect.
