Is Harry Lost? Or Searching for Something?

The publicist looked out her window and saw something very unexpected. She saw a little cowgoat in the chicken tractor. But not just in the chicken tractor; up in the roosting part of the chicken HOUSE!

Here is a close up view. Silly Harry! What could he be doing up there?

Oh, but wait! Maybe he is smarter than we think! After the big break in by Jillian the male person moved the chicken's grain up to the roost! I'll bet that was what Harry was after!

The publicist yelled at him to come out because as you know too much grain is not good for a goat.  He peaked out again and thought about it.

He came down but he WENT BACK UP AGAIN! Baaaaad Harry!

He finally listened to the publicist and came down the steps. He looks like he is going to come out now. What do you think?

Yes! He did come out. Hooray!

He is the only goat here that can fit in that tiny doorway. But soon he will also be too big to get in there and the chicken's grain will be safe.

Tomorrow:  The big bucks feast.

It's Exhausting

All that carrot top eating was just too much for little Harry. It's a rough life for a goat.

Tomorrow:  The food orgy continues.

Kid of the Hill

The big goats are not the only creatures on the Farm that enjoy the weeds up on the Hill. The little kids like to go up there too. I don't blame them! As I showed you yesterday there are lots of yummy knapweeds up there and boy are they delicious. Little Harry and Kevin did their fare share of munching.

Kevin loves to eat. But sometimes it is just nice to stop and enjoy the view.

But then some serious munching must be done.

Harry just tries to not get lost in the weeds.

He is still small you know.

We have been having a fair bit of rain lately but today when we were heading up to the barn for the night we saw this.

The publicist said it's been a long time since she saw the complete arc of a rainbow. It was very vibrant in person.

Tune in tomorrow for our next Goatucation post!

Little Harry is Growing Up!

Our little Harry is learning some advanced skills these days. Just more signs that my little grandkid is growing up. It happens to all the kids, of course, but it would be nice if they stayed small, wouldn't it?

We were all out grazing the other day and Abby showed little Harry how to stealth graze. This is an important skill because it lets a goat sneak in and get the tastiest of greens without the other goats knowing. Look at him here - you can hardly see him!

He reaches up to take a nibble of a yummy weed. What a quick learner.

Doesn't that weed look delicious? I'll bet you are drooling. I know I am.

As he grows up Harry will a very successful grazer having learned all of these skills from his Nanny and the other goats in the herd. That's what it is all about. Lucky goat!

Tomorrow is AbbyDay so as you know ANYTHING is possible.

Ultimate Spool Supremacy - The Kids Do Battle - Part II

Today I continue the exciting recitation of the tale of The Ultimate Spool Supremacy - The Kids Do Battle. If you will remember we left off with little Harry being butted around by Kevin. But was this the end of the story? Did little Harry recover to win the battle? Well, I will now go back into SportsGoat mode to report.

When last we saw Harry he was barely holding on to his perch on the spool.

And he did get butted off by the larger Kevin but he hopped right back up again.Ready to battle again.

They danced around each other

And Kevin seemed to have the upper hand, er, hoof.

But then Harry gave one of his super leaps

That awed Kevin into submission....

or did it?
Come back tomorrow for the Wordless Wednesday conclusion and see the winner of the battle.

Ultimate Spool Supremacy - The Kids Do Battle, Part I

Today instead of being a SpokesGoat I am a Sports Reporter. I am here to give you a play by play on the next round of Ultimate Spool Supremacy - The Kids Do Battle. Yes, you read that correctly! You are right in that this means that little Harry has learned to jump up on the spools. Since he has learned to leap up there he just wants to play and play and play! And what better playmate than Kevin the goat? They are pretty close in size and age so they are a good match up.

So here is my report. In this corner we have Harry the goat, small but fast; and able to leap.

In this corner we have Kevin the goat, a little bigger, with noticeable horns; and able to hop. Perhaps overconfident.

The opponents bow to each other before the match and agree to play fair.

Kevin comes out strong with a good butt to Harry that almost upends him.

But little Harry is quick and he runs around to respond.

But then, Kevin seems to get the upper erm, horn...

Come back Tuesday to see how the battle ends up! Tomorrow will be Goatucation with a question from The Old Grey Egg from Random Living on a Northwoods Farm- What's your opinion on dehorning? If it's decided to have a hornless goat, what's your preferred method?

AbbyDay -Am I Bringing Harry up to be a VAMPIRE?

What's that you say? How can a little goat be a vampire?

Wellllll, he is a little nibbler and not just on his hay, grain and tasty greens. You will recall the time Harry and I were playing and he suddenly decided my horns were something he should bite, don't you?

It took me several tries to get him to stop chewing on me! You can clearly see me bleating at him in this photo.

Well now he has started chewing on other goats! The publicist came into the barn one morning and there he was chewing on Pricilla's ear.

She was not very happy about it but I have to admit I thought it was pretty funny.

I have no idea why Harry would nibble on Pricilla's ear! I didn't tell him to. If I told him anything it would be to butt her, not nibble on her. I am all about butting. What? It gets the job done.

I will of course, end today's post with a photo of ME because I am the best looking goat on this Farm. Even though my kid is cute I am cuter!

Be sure to come back tomorrow...ha ha. I am not going to tell you why you should come back you should do it because Abby says so!

When Harry Met Stinky - The Tale of a Small Goat and an Even Smaller Cat

Once upon a time on a Farm in a mystical land there was born a small little goat. And he was given the name of Harry.

Harry loved his life on the Farm. His days were simple and full of fun. He got to frolic with his Uncle Kevin.

Who taught him the joy of playing in the magic wood pile.

While no one was looking he climbed the mountain of Heavenly Hay thinking this would give him special goat powers, but it didn't. It only got him in trouble with the Farm Fairy.

He ate the secret sand that he believed gave him super leaping abilities. The other goats told him they were just minerals but he knew better.

He ate them and he felt like he could fly!

But then one day as he was wandering around his wonderful Farm he encountered a strange and unusual creature. He wondered what it was. It had no horns. It had no hooves.

It didn't smell right. In fact, the first time he gave it a good sniff IT RAN AWAY.

But that did not stop our intrepid goat, oh no! He had eaten the magic sand remember and he had super powers so he searched out the strange creature again.

It ran away at first but Harry followed it into the high grass.

It seemed friendly.
This time they gave each other some good sniffs.

Harry decided that this furry animal was no threat to him. His nanny Abby told him it was called a cat and that he should butt it. Harry did not think this was nice. He didn't think he should butt it just because it was different. He was going to try and make friend with the cat the next time he saw it. He hoped that day would come soon.

I hope you liked this story. Harry is a good little kid and he does leave the Farm cats alone unlike some of us who shall remain nameless. Tomorrow is AbbyDay and ANYTHING can happen on AbbyDay!

The publicist asked me to mention that she is having a GIVEAWAY on her blog.
It is for a poster print of a picture of your choice! You can read all about how to enter right

Harry and the Wood Pile

Yesterday you all learned how much Abby loves it here on the Farm. Well she is not the only one who loves it here on the Farm. I LOVE IT TOO. Harumph. She thinks she is the only one that counts around here. But this is MY blog and I tell the important tales. So today I am going to tell you all about Harry discovering the wood pile. You all know, of course, how much we goats love the wood pile. It is full of tasty logs and branches to nibble and munch. We hadn't been over there in a while and it was Harry's first time trying bark and lichens and such. Needless to say, he enjoyed himself. Abby took him over there on our graze that day.

He leaped right up on the big logs and started checking things out.

Then he got right down to some serious nibbling.

He checked out all the different parts of the wood pile. He wasn't going to miss a place to munch!

He found something good to eat over there...

He even did some stealth nibbling! He is advanced for his age.

His Uncle Kevin joined him for a bit and even showed him how to scratch an itch on one of the branches. This is very useful information!

He, of course, leaped from log to log. He is a little leaper!

I think he enjoyed his time at the wood pile very much and I am sure he will be going back. Who else enjoyed the wood pile that day? Come back tomorrow to find out!
