Alex the Goat is Not Too Smart

It's true.
I would not lie.
He does not like corn husks!
Can you believe such a thing?

He came over to check out this new food in my pen because the publicist fed me the delicious corn husks first. The other goats had to wait but since he can STILL fit through the fence he came through to see what was going on. As you can see, he was NOT impressed.

Silly boy!

The publicist gave him a piece to eat and after a very long sniff he finally took it but then do you know what he did? He chewed it for a little bit and then HE SPIT IT OUT!

I was shocked.
I was appalled.
What a waste of good husk.

He is obviously nothing like his father.
Now there's a buck who knows how to enjoy a treat.

Happy Labor Day from All of Us on the Farm

All of us here hope you have a very Happy Labor Day.
The publicist and the male person will be butchering chickens.
They will most assuredly be laboring.
Me?

I will be enjoying some tasty corn husks.
You will note I have a full bowl.
That will not last for long!

I was very happy when the male person labored in the garden to pick his corn.
The publicist said it was very sweet.
Of course you humans are pretty silly.
You don't eat the best parts.

For example, you don't eat the cob!
What is up with that?
I loves me some cob.
Nom, nom, nom.

I hope that none of you labor too hard today.
Enjoy your holiday and your barbecues.

Be like Harry the Farm cat.
Sleep like no one is watching.
Bwamaaaaahahahahaha!

My Studmuffin Enjoys Some Husks

I cannot tell you how much we all enjoy this time of year.
We get all manner of yummy treats.
It is fun to live on a Farm!

The corn came in the other day - 100 ears!
That is a lot of corn.
And do you know what a lot of corn means?
A lot of corn husks!

We goats get to eat the corn husks....
Mmmmmm.

Luke the goat certainly enjoyed his share.
He has to build up his strength you know.
The rut is coming.

So he really dug into his husks.
He knows that they are good for him.

He might not like everything that the publicist gives him but there isn't a goat on the Farm that doesn't like corn in any way shape or form.

Doesn't he look handsome?
Ooooh, I do love my studmuffin!

Maybe the publicist will let me me join him - what do you think?
I wonder what HE would think?

A doe can dream, can't she?

AbbyDay - 'Tis the Season

It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week. Written by the best goat on the Farm. Heck, by the best goat in the WORLD!

What season you ask?
CORN season!
You will recall last year it was Raining Husks.
This year it is all AbbyGoat enjoying husks.
So come and get very up close and personal with me, AbbyGoat as I enjoy a delicious corn husk.

If you cannot see the movie you can see it on YouTube HERE

Mmmm, corn husks.
You can see that I kept my eyes on the prize and didn't let any other goats get near my husk!

The Male Person Tries to Make up for the Lack of Husks

I think the male person was trying to make up for the paucity of corn husks.
That or he is trying to get the boys to like him.

They don't you know.
They only like the publicist.
heh

He went over and tried to feed them through the fence.

I watched with great interest. I wondered if I would get any of these husks.
But, alas. It was not to be. They were all for the boys that day.

Luke the goat is no fool and food is food no matter who is giving it to you.

But Buster Brown was not so sure. He had never seen these things called "corn husks' before. Combine that with this strange male person feeding them to him and he was suspicious.

Silly Buster Brown!

It's My Favorite Time of Year!

Oooooh! Am I a Happy Goat!
Do you want to know why?
Of course you do!

The garden is growing and growing and growing and growing some more.
And when that happens the male person picks all the produce and we goats get treats.
Lots and lots of treats.

Like this

Don't I LOOK happy?
I am in a treat eating stupor.

Mmmmmmm, treats.
I heard a rumor.
A really good rumor.

It involved CORN!
I might just be getting some corn husks soon.
This goat CANNOT wait.

Are you jealous?

Happy Goats

Instead of AbbyDay today I am going to show you lots of pictures.
Why you ask?
Because the publicist is often asked how she knows we are Happy Goats.

I think these photos of us eating our corn husks, up close and personal show how happy we are.
We got to eat them by the river.
We each got our own pile of husks.
And we know there are more to come.
Wouldn't YOU be a happy goat?

First, Abby...

Then Nora. She loves to eat!

Sarah is eating for two or maybe three!

Mallory is ALWAYS eating!

Do you think Matthew could fit any more in his mouth?

And little Marion has learned to love corn husks. That makes all of us happy!

And ME!

Now tell me, have you ever seen happier goats?
I know I have never been happier.
I love my Farm. And corn husks!

AbbyDay will be back next week.

My Studmuffin Gets a Surprise Visitor

We got to enjoy some more tasty corn husks today.
My studmuffin got his own pile to munch on.
He was enjoying them when he was interrupted!

Mallory the goat was trying to STEAL his corn husks!

She had already had her own pile.
You would think that would have been enough.

But not for Mallory!
She finaly left and he went back to munching.

But what is this?

A small brown goat eating my studmuffin's husks!

Marion the goat had broken into his pen to steal his snack.
Baaaaad Marion. Baaaad, baaad, baaaad!

She was encouraged to leave by the publicist and Luke went back to nomming BY HIMSELF.
As it should be, again!

He then gave the goat stare of death to the publicist so she left too.
I wouldn't mess with that stare, would you?

CORN!

The corn harvest is starting to come it!
That is exciting news for us goats.
Very exciting news.

Because we get the corn husks.
Mmmm, corn husks.'
Have I mentioned that this is my favorite time of year?

The publicist took a video of us enjoying our corn husks.
You will see that I looked a little reticent in this video but I was only acting.
I WANTED the publicist to hand feed me.
I am a special goat so I deserve special treatment.
Don't you agree?

I hope you enjoyed this video of all of us enjoying our corn husks.
Don't worry about my studmuffin. He got some corn husks too.
The publicist is just not adept at editing her videos.

Did you hear the wind blowing?
It was quite chilly yesterday. Not at all like August should be.
