Christmas morning was beautiful in our neck of the woods.
It was a bright, sunny day.
The publicist brought us all down to our pens and then she went to get Luke the goat.
He was a bit of a rogue goat as he is wont to be.
He trotted over to the pine tree to nibble a bit.
It did lead to a very beautiful moment in the publicist's day....
She managed to click at the perfect time.
Aaaaaah, my studmuffin.
He then came running over to the publicist like a good boy.
And they went to his pen where he had his Christmas grain.
And all was right with the Farm.

My Studmuffin and the Apples
While we were performing in our stupendous production of A Christmaaaa Carol the publicist took lots and lots and lots of photos. She could not use all of them in our story so I am going to show you them as the year winds down.
Today I want to share with you how much my studmuffin, Luke the goat enjoyed his apples. You know that we goats really like to munch on crunchy apples but my Luke does it with style! But first I MUST comment on how handsome he is!
He was very excited to be getting an apple treat.
We don't see many apples this time of year.
You can see he is smiling and eating at the same time here.
I don't blame him.
We were ALL smiling and eating.
Those apples were DELICIOUS!
The publicist gave him quite a few pieces.
I was getting worried that she would not save any for ME!
But I know the publicist would never do that. She loves me.
That Luke was one Happy Goat as he enjoyed his Christmas snack.
I think he might have tried to eat the publicist's fingers!
I do not think they would have tasted as good as apple though, and besides - we are vegetarian goats!
I know this photo starred in the production but it is sooooo cute I had to end with it today.
Don't you agree?
My studmuffin is one adorable apple eater!

Post Redux - An Ode to Luke the Goat
The publicist is not feeling well so I am bringing you an oldie but a goodie today. It's from before I was a retired goat so don't get any ideas about me having a kid. The publicist says that is NOT going to happen no matter how much I moan.
There he stands in the cold of the morning.
Just waiting at the barn door.
Then he runs down to his pen, little tail waggin'.
The perfect buck goat for sure!
He stops by the doe pen to see what we are doing.
I have warned off the girls, He is all mine now hear it.
So he goes to his pen to spend his day alone.
Don't worry my love, I am with you in spirit.
He checks out his hay, is he ready to munch?
Could there be something better, something with crunch?
Of course! He forgot! He runs to his grain.
He eats it all up. Off to the hay - he's in the zone.
I love my little Luke I wish I could be with him.
But soon I will have a kid of his all of my own. (Keep your hooves crossed)

AbbyDay - Love is in the Air for AbbyGoat
It's AbbyDay the LOVEliest day of the week. I think everyone should be in LOVE on AbbyDay. Don't you just LOVE AbbyDay? I do, but then, I am Abby! LOVE is in the air for AbbyGoat this week so I think LOVE should be in the air for everyone!
It was time for me to dance the goat rhumba with my studmuffin, Luke the goat.
You can see he is happy too.
Sometimes though, he is a bit slow to get the rhumba going.
You can see my erm, frustration in my eyes.
This might or might not be the AbbyGoat Stare of Death.
I'm not maaaaaing.
I'll only be here for a bit buddy.
You'd better make the best of it.
I'm a busy doe.
He really needs to get his tongue back in his mouth and get down to the rhumbaing!
Really Luke.
I don't have much time here.
I've got hay to eat.
I've got apples to much.
DUDE! You really need to act like a gentlegoat and stop all of this classless snorting and stomping.
It's a RHUMBA!
The dance of LOOOOOOVE!
I guess he's just excited to see me. I suppose I can't blame him.
After all, I am AbbyGoat!
The prettiest goat on the Farm.
He IS one lucky buck!
And he does seem to know it.
FINALLY!
My studmuffin DOES remember how to dance the rhumba!
Pretty soon I'll be looking like this.
And I CANNOT wait.
There are nothing cuter than AbbyKids!

Luke the Goat is a FLIRT!
It's true!
My studmuffin is a terrible flirt.
And he will flirt with any doe he sees!
Just look at him!
Harumph!
Even while eating his corn husks he is giving the eye.
Just because it is Fall does not mean he can just flirt with any doe he sees.
He is MY studmuffin!
I know he is the cutest buck around and I know I am a retired goat but does he have to do this in front of me?
I think I deserve better.
Don't you?

Brewster and Luke the Goats
Brewster and Luke are getting along just fine now.
I like to think he was doing his goat dance of joy because he was going to see me.
Most of the time they well, just ignore each other which is probably good.
It is better than try to kill each other.
Right?
The publicist is still having some erm, challenges with her video camera but she does have this short video to show you today. It stars a bit of Brewster and a lot of my studmuffin.
I like to think he was doing his goat dance of joy because he was going to see me.
It had nothing to do with the grain the publicist was about to give him.
Nothing at all.

CORN!!!!!!
Oh!
We are truly Happy Goats today.
Do you know why?
Well, if you read my title for the post you do....
We are truly Happy Goats today.

Well, if you read my title for the post you do....
CORN!!!!
Well, corn stalks anyway.
The male person cut them all down and let them dry and now WE get to eat them.
The publicist took lots of photos and I will tell you all about our fun over the next few days.
Wait until you see little Brewster as he gets his first taste of CORN!!!!!
But first I will show you my studmuffin because you know I love to show him off.
I don't care WHAT Abby might say or think he is MY studmuffin...
Harumph!
The publicist gave him a nice bunch of stalks.
He dove right in and started munching.
Isn't he just the most handsome goat you have ever seen.
I know I say this a lot but just LOOK at him!
I think he is really enjoying his treat.
Although he does look a little bit silly in this picture.
But that is OK, he is still the love of my life.
I wonder - do you humans like corn as much as we goats do?
Mmmmm, CORN!!!!!

Aaaah, My Studmuffin
To finish off all of the apple eating I take you to MY favorite goat on the Farm my studmuffin, Luke the goat.
Of course the publicist would not leave him out of the applepalooza!
In fact she fed him his apple pieces one by one so he could savor them.
I am not sure he did because he gobbled them up rather quickly!
It is good to see him so happy.
Hi there my darling!
I hope you all enjoyed seeing us get our treats.
There will be more treats coming as the last of the corn has been picked and the stalks will soon be ours!

Somegoat is Exhibiting Less Thank Ladylike Behavior
Harumph!
I pride myself on being a ladylike goat.
My behavior around my studmuffin notwithstanding...
But somegoat on this Farm has gone all animal!
Can you imagine such a thing?
It is true.
Who you ask?
What did somegoat do, you want to know?
Well, even though it breaks my heart I will tell you.
My studmuffin was minding his own business in his pen when somegoat went over there and
wiggled her tail at him.
What was he to do?
Such blatant behavior!
Well he did what bucks will do even though there was a fence between them.
Oh Luke why do you hurt me this way?
And now somegoat may have kids in February!
February!
A very baaaaad month to have kids in Montana.
What goat you ask?
Who was this brazen?
ABBYGOAT!
Who else?

My Studmuffin Gets a Surprise Visitor
We got to enjoy some more tasty corn husks today.
My studmuffin got his own pile to munch on.
He was enjoying them when he was interrupted!
Mallory the goat was trying to STEAL his corn husks!
She had already had her own pile.
You would think that would have been enough.
But not for Mallory!
She finaly left and he went back to munching.
But what is this?
A small brown goat eating my studmuffin's husks!
Marion the goat had broken into his pen to steal his snack.
Baaaaad Marion. Baaaad, baaad, baaaad!
She was encouraged to leave by the publicist and Luke went back to nomming BY HIMSELF.
As it should be, again!
He then gave the goat stare of death to the publicist so she left too.
I wouldn't mess with that stare, would you?

Luke the Goat Keeps Watch Even While Eating Carrot Tops
I thought it was time my studmuffin has some time on the blog.
I don't show him much I know.
I like to keep him to myself.
I am sure all you human women out there understand this.
But he is such a good billy goat.
He takes care of all of us.
Even when he is eating his treat of carrot tops he is keeping watch to make sure that nothing is going to hurt us does.
Just look!
First he gives his carrot tops a good sniff. And a taste test.
They sure do smell good!
But even as he is busy enjoying their fresh flavor...
He looks one way
And then the other
To keep his eyes on what is going on around the Farm.
He doesn't miss a trick!
Or a carrot top!
I don't show him much I know.
I like to keep him to myself.
