Those Boys!

I remember the days when bucks would fight over me.
It was exciting.
It was flattering.

Now I'm an old goat and no one is fighting over me any more.
But that's OK.
I've had my day.
Now it's time for the new does.

But I am not sure those boys over there in that other pen quite understand things.
They have really going at each other.

The goat stomps!

The horn locking!

The head butting!

The DRAMA!
All for what?

BERNADETTE THE GOAT!

And guess what?
Just guess!

She could care less!
All she did while those boys were trying to impress her was a bit of goat yoga.

Silly, silly, silly boys.
And it's not like it's going to get you anywhere if she cared.....
YOU'RE WETHERS!

Silly boys.

ps:  the publicist let us out for the first graze of the season! She even shared a snack with us. You can read about it on her blog HERE. She would appreciate any comments or shares of that post.

Boys Will Be Boys - The Movie

You will recall that Rudy the goat was craving attention.
He was doing everything he could to be noticed.
Silly Rudy.
He even started butting heads with Keith the goat to try and impress little Bernadette.

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

I don't think she was impressed.
I think she thinks those boys are pretty silly.
Their tails were going 100 miles an hour though....

I wonder if it's any more difficult in the snow?

It's Never Boring on the Farm

Especially with little Bernadette around.
She has a serious crush on Keith the Goat.
Little does she know that is going NOWHERE.

I'm not sure he understands it's going nowhere either.
Wethers are not too bright if you ask me.

Here is a bit of our day yesterday:

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

Silly, silly goats!

Bernadette Sings the "Song of Love"

Little Bernadette is growing up.
And with growing up comes certain changes.
Changes that all of us does know well.

Little Bernadette is a womangoat now.
She is singing the song of love!

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

Although the publicist says that she has never heard such a loud song before on the Farm.
At least not from one of us does.
EVER.

Bernadette is a VERY enthusiastic singer.
Don't you think?

Bernadette the FlirtyGoat

I don't know about that little Bernadette.
I think she is a flirtygoat!
It's true!
I would not lie.

Look!
This is how it all played out. She was on top of the little goathouse....

When she maaaaed to Keith the goat.
What could she want?

Keith wondered too?
He turned around.

"What do you want, kid?" he maaaed
I'm a BIG goat.
I don't have time for babies.

Humph!
If that's the way you feel!
Then I won't maaaa you my secret.

A SECRET?
What is it?

Nope. Not gonna maaaa you now!
Never, never, NEVER!

Awww, come on.
I'll maaa YOU a secret!

OK, but you have to come closer so I can whisper.
It's a SECRET after all!

What IS it?
Heeeeey! That's no secret! That's.....

....A KISS!
BLECH!
ICK!
YUCK!

I'm outta here!

Wait for me!
You owe me a secret!

Go AWAY Bernadette!
Go away!

Oh well, I might as well eat.

So! Do you agree with me?
Is little Bernadette a FlirtyGoat?
What am I to do with her?

Mayhems, continued.

You will recall that on Saturday goats were definitely not where they belonged.
It was MAYHEMS ON THE FARM!
Mayhems I maaaa!

Luke the goat was in the doe pen and when he finally went back to his pen....

Keith the goat was in HIS pen!

Not only Keith, but Rudy the goat was in there too!
Just what was going on at the Farm!?!
Was there something in the water?

I sure don't know.
I was very surprised that Luke did not mind Rudy munching on his hay.
Luke is usually pretty protective of his hay.

And Rudy was eating HUGE mouthfuls of it!

Even Keith was a bit surprised.

But he soon figured he would join the munching party.
THAT'S when Luke took notice.

Uh-huh.
LUKE'S hay.

They couldn't leave fast enough.

Sometimes it is better to be outside looking in.
Right Rudy?

An Interloper. In the Doe Pen!

Shocking news today readers.
SHOCKING!
Even the chickens didn't know which way to run.

LUKE THE GOAT RAN INTO THE DOE PEN.
He ran in there instead of in his pen.

Silly Luke!
He decided to take a tour.

He checked out the spools and the little goathouse.

He checked out the little chicken house.

He ATE OUR MINERALS!

He gave the publicist a bit of a hug.
I am not sure she appreciated this.
She made rumblings about "the rut is coming. I can smell it."

He ATE OUR HAY!

He rubbed against our fence.

The publicist tried to tempt him with grain but do you see what he did to her.
Look!
Look closely.
HE STUCK OUT HIS TONGUE AT HER!

That was NOT nice!
I finally decided to help her.

I came out of my goathouse and whispmaaaaed in his ear.
I maaaaed at him to go to his pen.
I maaaaed at him that it was time for him to leave even though I enjoyed seeing him so close to me.

HE LISTENED!

He went back to his pen.

He rubbed against his fence.

And he settled down and he ate his hay.

Until.....

WHAT? AN INTERLOPER IN LUKE'S PEN?!
What is going on around this Farm?

More on Monday!

Keith REALLY Didn't Like the Snow

While the surprise snow we had is all gone I still have stories to tell about it. Today I am going to maaaa at you about little Keith. He was NOT a happy goat. Not at all.

None of us were happy to see the snow.
We adult goats have shed most of our winter underfur.
The little ones had never seen this snow stuff before.

Little Keith ran and jumped in the hay pile

I can't say as I blame him.
It is warm and dry in the hay pile.

The publicist told him to come down.
She said that every other goat was already at the goat pens.

It took some doing but he finally agreed.

He was not happy about it though.
He thought this snow stuff was COLD.

He did not want to touch it.
AT ALL.

He ran across the barn pad but he then encountered a bigger problem.
"You expect me to run in all of that SNOW?" he maaaaed

"Yes," the publicist answered, "I do."

Oh noes!
Poor little Keith.
NOT!

Grow a set buddy
Oh, that is right. He is a wether now.
Ooopsie!

He finally, cautiously, stepped down.

A little further Keith.

See, it's not so bad!
Uhm, is that the Goat Stare of Death?
