AbbyGoat's Stare of Death did NO GOOD.
It snowed.
And it snowed.
And it snowed.
And it snowed some more.
It snowed so much we got enough snow that I pondered how my udder could swing free if it was buried in SNOW.
Guess what?
IT CAN'T!
Just look!
That snow is almost as tall as ME!
I must say that the publicist and the male person are very, very good to us.
The male person made us pathways in our pens.
I do not know what we would have done otherwise.
We got 18" of the white stuff and the publicist tells me that another storm is on the way.
I do not want to even think about it.
My studmuffin didn't care about it as long as he could get to his hay.
Luke has a rather one track mind.
Well two tracks but this is a family blog.
The other girls are just sticking to the cleared areas.
We have never seen this much snow before.
Not all at once, anyway.
It was a lot of shoveling for the poor male person.
We do thank him.
Especially Bernadette.
When she gets out of the cleared area she disappears!
There will be a movie on Saturday!
If we are not snowed under!
I am one goat who is ready for Spring.
Does anyone want to adopt me?
I do not ask for much....just a nice place to sleep, some hay, some grain and the occasional apple.
Let me know....

Hey Publicist?
We've HAD it!
More snow today?!
It's just wrong!
We want summer.
We want summer NOW!
PLEASE?
How can you resist that face?

Mother Nature Must Not Like Goats
Why else would she make it so cold?
I don't understand.
The publicist has been very good to us - she makes sure we have plenty of hot water to drink.
She makes sure we have a little extra grain to eat to help keep us warm.
And yesterday she even took us up to the barn a little early to get us out of the weather.
Did I maaaa-ntion that it snowed? AGAIN!
You saw the photo of Luke the snowgoat. (This might make a good nomination for Best Blog Photo for the Nose to Nose Awards, hint hint).
We were ALL frostygoats! I was hiding deep inside my goathouse. I did NOT want to come out even to go to the barn. I am not a dummygoat.
I waited until those other goats made a path. I followed at the end.
It's a LONG walk up to that barn.
Although the real cold hadn't come yet.
Louise and Bernadette were happy to get to the barn.
Even Rude-ly was happy to be getting out of the snow.
You can see how furry he has gotten.
I took my sweet time.
I did not want to slip on the snow.
I admit it. I'm getting old.
Aaaaah finally, my snack.
Not much better than grain!
The publicist put my goat-ure on me and I haven't let her take it off since.
I do not like these below zero temperatures.
I think they should go away!
I don't understand.

Keith REALLY Didn't Like the Snow
While the surprise snow we had is all gone I still have stories to tell about it. Today I am going to maaaa at you about little Keith. He was NOT a happy goat. Not at all.
None of us were happy to see the snow.
We adult goats have shed most of our winter underfur.
The little ones had never seen this snow stuff before.
Little Keith ran and jumped in the hay pile
I can't say as I blame him.
It is warm and dry in the hay pile.
The publicist told him to come down.
She said that every other goat was already at the goat pens.
It took some doing but he finally agreed.
He was not happy about it though.
He thought this snow stuff was COLD.
He did not want to touch it.
AT ALL.
He ran across the barn pad but he then encountered a bigger problem.
"You expect me to run in all of that SNOW?" he maaaaed
"Yes," the publicist answered, "I do."
Oh noes!
Poor little Keith.
NOT!
Grow a set buddy
Oh, that is right. He is a wether now.
Ooopsie!
He finally, cautiously, stepped down.
A little further Keith.
See, it's not so bad!
Uhm, is that the Goat Stare of Death?

I am MAD at the Sun
It's true!
It came out the other day.
We all enjoyed it.
You saw Thelma basking yesterday.
She looked so happy, didn't she?
I basked too.
It was so delightful to feel the warm sun on my furs.
Even if my furs are looking a bit disheveled right now.
A doe can't help it during "shaggy time."
I'll be all sleek and smooth before you know it.
It was so nice to just lie down and relax.
AbbyGoat was happy about it too.
I don't blame her.
She isthe size of the horse barn across the street very pregnant.
Aaaaaah, such delight.
Nothing to do but my goat yoga.
I am a very limber goat for my age!
But do know what happened today?
IT SNOWED!
It snowed a LOT.
And we had to spend the day in the barn.
THAT is why I am mad at the sun.
It should have stayed out.
It should not have gone away.
Harumph to the sun!
It had better come back soon!
Or else!

We Need to Be Saved!
It's true!
Especially me!
I would like someone to come rescue me from the awful conditions I have to live in.
No goat should have to live like this.
LOOK!
Can you believe the publicist is allowing this weather?
She knows I am an African goat. She knows I like it warm.
Just LOOK at all this snow.
Do you see how high it is?
It is over my hooves.
This is goat abuse!
GOAT ABUSE I maaaa.
I am begging someone to come get me and take me somewhere warm.
So who is up for it?
I don't eat, burp, much.
I like apples and grain and carrots and grain and apples and grain and hay.
And nice hot water to drink.
I am not fussy.
The publicist will tell you. She takes good care of me.
Ooooh......

I Have a Hissy Fit - or Two
It's true!
I cannot say I am proud of it but I have HAD IT!
This is what we had to face AGAIN today:
I repeat: WE ARE AFRICAN GOATS. WE DO NOT LIKE SNOW.
Well, what do boys know anyway?
They are not too bright.
I decided to go on goat strike.
How, you ask?
I refused to leave the barn.
So there!
That is what I maaaaaed to the publicist.
SO THERE!
Erm. She told me tough nuts.
She told me I had to go out.
She told me I would be lonely in the barn all by myself.
I maaaaed, HARUMPH!
So she took everyone out and left me there.
And I did get lonely.
Stupid publicist. I hate when she is right.
But I will show her.
I played Ninja Goat just like my friend Fezzik taught me
Can you see me?
I am hiding from the snow!
I refused to come out so the publicist could take my photo.
So there publicist. So there!

Silly Sunday - We Were Wearin' the WHITE for St. Patrick's Day
We were not happy goats for St. Patrick's Day.
Would you like to know why?
Your eyes are not deceiving you!
It SNOWED for St. Patrick's Day
That is just plain silly!
We took one look out of the barn and that was that!
We refused to leave.
What goat in their right mind would go out in the snow?
We are not silly goats!

Even the Christmas Tree-t that the publicist moved into the buck pen was covered in snow. It is not good for nibbling covered in snow!
That is silly!
The doe pen was covered too.
Silly, silly snow!
The snow was gone my noon and the publicist brought us all out.
AND THEN IT STARTED TO RAIN!
We went back to the barn.
It was a very silly day to be sure.
We would like the sun to come back.

CRAZY Weather
You saw me running from the snow yesterday.
Can you believe this crazy weather?
The morning had been SUNNY!
And then it was SNOWING.
Like crazy!
I could not believe it.
I looked all around to see if my goat eyes were playing tricks on me.
They were not!
It was snowing!
It was time to go to the barn!
Get out of my way chicken!
I'm in a hurry!
Bye Buster Brown.
Ha ha! I get to go to the barn first!
My poor studmuffin is getting covered with snow.
So are the other does.
We are not snowgoats!
Abby maaaas that she is not thrilled with this weather either.
As I ran by she was giving the AbbyGoat Stare of Death to the snow.
It didn't work.
This was the view from the barn as we ran in...
As you can see - it was still snowing.
Even harder than when we started running!
Stupid snow!
Go away....NOW!
