AbbyDay - I am a Nostalgic Goat

It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week. And just so you know - AbbyGoats are the BEST goats.

I have been thinking.
It happens when one is a hormonal goat.
My kid Thelma is going to have HER kids soon.

I am going to be a grandnanny again.
I can hardly believe it.

I remember when Thelma and Louise were born.
It seems like it was yesterday!

They were soon growing big and hopping all over the Farm.
Time goes by so quickly.

And suddenly Louise was having kids.
My first grandkids.
I guess I now knew how Pricilla felt.
Don't tell her I maaaed that, OK?

Then Bruce and Clarence the goats joined us on the Farm.
Oh my! They were cute.

But soon they were acting like BOYS!

Who knows what Thelma will have?
The publicist tells us it will be in the next week but only a goat knows for sure.

And then soon after I am a grandnanny I will be a nanny again!
My oh my!
There will soon be kids hopping and bouncing all over this Farm.

Fun times ahead!

PS - our very good friend, Daisy the Curly Cat wrote a very informative post about how to treat your friends on her PetMeds Blog. Pricilla even helped her! You should go and check it out to see Daisy's Etiquette Lesson. It is very wise.

The Farm Cats are Toasty Warm Thanks to Daisy the Curly Cat!

I think the Farm Cats are trying to take over MY blog.
The publicist said that I have to tell you about them again today.
This is ridiculous.
She told me to "chill" and to just get on with it.
Harumph!
If it weren't for the fact that I get to maaaaa about Daisy the Curly Cat too I don't think I would have done this.
I LIKE Daisy the Curly Cat!

So here goes.
Daisy had a giveaway at her second job on the PetMeds blog and the Farm Cats won!
They were very excited to know that they were getting a heated cat pad.

Especially Stinky - she is old and is often cold.
Hey - I am a poetgoat!

It arrived and the publicist set it up on their scratching post.
Stinky the Farm cat was indeed the first Farm cat up there.

Doesn't she look happy?
What do you mean you can't tell?

LOOK!
Trust me, she is one happy Farm cat!

She spends a lot of time up there and to the male person's delight she now sleeps there instead of in the bed with him and the publicist.

Then there is this shameful, shameful photo. I am not sure it is appropriate for young eyes:

The things that go on in the yurt just shock me!
I try maaaaing to the publicist about these things but I get nowhere.

You can see that Sherpa the Farm cat also enjoys the heated cat pad.
A LOT.

When asked about it he got a touch annoyed at being awoken.

He meowed, "talk to the paw."

And went back to sleep.
So I would say that the Farm cats like this new addition to their lives.

And they just want to sleep in warmth and peace.
They do thank Daisy the Curly Cat and PetMeds for making their scratching post so nice and comfy.

So far they have not let Harry and Pumpkin try it out.
I will let you know if they do.

Meet My Friends Monday - Daisy the Curly Cat (and Harley Too!)

It's time to meet more of my friends! I am such a Happy Goat to have so many nice friends all over the world. Today's friend lives in a very warm place - Florida!

I think I might like to live there.
Warm is good.

My friend is Daisy the Curly Cat. Isn't she pretty?
Daisy is a dilute calico Devon Rex cat and she has curly furs.
I have curly furs right now but that is only because my underfurs are coming out.
Daisy's furs are always curly.

Daisy is a famous supermodel cat.
She just posed in her Easter Bonnet.
She is a very good supermodel - not like some AbbyGoats we know.

But she knows all about that type.

She lives with her brother Harley  - doesn't he look like he could be related to Harry the Farm cat?

and he is always ruining her good times.

He is also a little bit silly.
I agree - cats can be VERY silly!

Daisy is a very popular cat.
It's true!
You can find Daisy the Curly Cat on Facebook and you can find Daisy on Twitter!
I am going to have to talk to the publicist about this.

She even has her own shop! In it she sells all kind of cool things like this

Faces of Catnip T-shirt.
I think it would look good on me. But I think it would need some adjustments to fit my goatly figure.
What do you think?

Daisy sells magnets and mugs and shirts and coasters.
She is a real catrepreneur!
I think she should come visit me here in Montana and teach ME.
I could then be a goatrepreneur!

Then I could fire the publicist.....hmmmm.

I hope you liked meeting my friend Daisy and her brother Harley.
Be sure to visit her blog, Daisy the Curly Cat and her great shop!

Catstacular Event - Guest Post from HARLEY - Brother of Daisy the Curly Cat

Today I would like to welcome HARLEY, brother of Daisy the Curly Cat with a wonderful guest post on how he came to be in his purrfect FOREVER HOME.  That's what all of us cats want - a warm place with loving mommehs and daddehs who give us lots of treats and eats!  Thank you Harley for sharing your story for the Catstacular Event!

Hey, look where I am! It’s me, HARLEY!  Pricilla invited me to post for the Catstacular Event here.  I am all FOR big events, so I am going to tell you something ABOUT me.  Did you know I was actually BORNED in a SHELTER?  Well, I got a REAL forever home a LONG time ago, so I want to tell you now why a FOREVER home is better than a SHELTER home!

At the SHELTER there were not too many good TOYS.  And I had to SHARE the toys with MANY cats.  When I got a GOOD toy at the SHELTER, I would carry it around in my MOUTH at the shelter for HOURS.  And even though I am a GOOD boy, if another cat came too close to my toy, I would GROWL!!! Toys at the shelter are PRECIOUS.

My FOREVER home is better because I have MANY, MANY toys.  And I only have to share with DAISY.  Sometimes.  And I FORGOT how to growl now.

At the SHELTER I had to SHARE a bed with OTHER cats.  My bed was usually a LITTER box with a towel inside.  Can you tell which cat is ME in this photo? Hint: I am the BIG cat!

At my FOREVER home, I have FIVE beds to choose from.  And at NIGHT, I sleep in the bed for big PEOPLE!

These are just a COUPLE of reasons why I hope EVERY cat will get to have a FOREVER home of their own.  And these are ALSO reasons why your OWN local shelter would APPRECIATE any donations.

Wasn't that a WONDERFUL story? All of us Farm Cats thank Harley for sharing it.  I know I was very, very happy when the male person came and took me out of the shelter. I am much happier living on the Farm even if I do have Harry the Farm kitten bothering me.

Be sure to check out Daisy the Curly Cat's blog where you can keep up with Harley's life in his FOREVER home and see Daisy in action. They have pets you know! Gerbils! I think I would like gerbils; I have heard they taste very good.

Now go over and check out the Publicist's blog and see what we Farm Cats are doing for shelter cats. We learned about this idea from reading Daisy's blog! It's our SPECIAL GIFT for the Catstacular event! Shelter cats need homes but until they get them they need lots of love and lots of monies.

Nom, Nom, Nom - Got Weed?

As I have reported it is starting to get warmer, the sun has been shining and the tasty weeds are starting to grow. I know most humans think of weeds as bad things but we goats just love them. They are some of the yummiest things around if you ask me. The male person loves the fact that we go around the Farm eating up all of the noxious weeds that grow. Personally, I can't wait until the knapweed starts to come in; it's my favorite! But for now, I will take what I can find, so will the others. So in the words of that famous feline, Daisy the Curly Cat - Nom, Nom, Nom!

Here I show little Kevin how to find some nice tasty greens.

Jillian has obviously learned how to stealth graze. Good for her!

Luke likes to eat his weeds on the run. Silly buck!

Michael sure concentrates while he eats his.

And Abby, well, Abby is always eating but I suppose she has to with the baby and all.

These greens are so much yummier than hay. Not that hay is bad but mmmm, mmmm! We spend a lot of our day eating and it is nice to be getting some variety in our diet. I hope you don't think we are all little piggies.

Just two more days left in my newsletter giveaway so be sure to sign up if you want to be eligible for the drawing for THREE BARS of my rich soap. All who enter through TOMORROW, MAY 16TH will be in the drawing.

Mmmmm, Hay

In the winter our biggest source of food is hay. Since the ground is often covered with snow and all of the yummy weeds are dead we don't have much choice in what we eat. I am not complaining, mind you, I loves me some hay. Especially the hard crunchy bits. Oooh, and the small tiny pieces I like to call hay dust - mmmmm, that is like candy to me. And then there are the tender blades. But I ramble. I guess I can be rather food obsessed, can't I? Now, when I eat my hay I try to be dainty and graceful.
Not at all like the bucks.

Here is Michael stalking his hay pile and eating his hay.

Luke is a bit more genteel, but not much.

I guess all the boys have to say is, "nom, nom, nom" in the words of a famous Curly Cat.
