Sherpa the Farm cat here.
I do not understand the publicist sometimes.
I think she is there to make me comfortable.
She says I am "in the way of her getting things done."
As if.
She doesn't need two arms to get her things done.
I also don't think she should be taking pictures of me like this either.
So I tried to rip the camera out of her one remaining hand.
Sadly, it did not work.
Just goes to show that she really does NOT need two arms as she claims.
I am going to sleep now.
I am comfortable.
As it should be.

So, Did you Have a Good Holiday?
We certainly enjoyed ours.
It rained all day on Christmas Eve.
We spent the day in the barn.
Harry the Farm cat spent the day sleeping.
I can't say I blame him.
But I guess the big question is, did we have a White Christmas?
Well,.....
.....sort of.
There was maybe an inch of snow on the ground.
I am not sure this counts as an OFFICIAL White Christmas.
But it was enough for me to be a snowgoat!
At least for a little while.
The snow was all gone by the afternoon but the publicist tells me that very cold weather is coming.
It was a very nice Christmas day.
Sherpa had fun.
But then Sherpa always has fun.
He played with wrapping paper.
And he played in boxes.
He could not have been happier.
We did get apples!
They were very tasty.
The kids have learned that.
It will never be the same around here again.
They are VERY greedy.
We all hope you had as nice a day as we did.

Farm Cat Friday - Catmas Carol: Kitties! We Have Sat on High
Kitties! We have sat on high
Sweetly purring o'er the yurt
And the other cats in reply
Meowing 'til human ears hurt....
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.
Kitties, why this jubilee?
Why your walls exploring prolong?
How many dust bunnies do you see?
Which inspire your meowy song?
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.
Look up on the walls and see
The Farm cats who live here and sing,
These kitties so love to be,
up on the walls stalking things
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always
Kitties! We have sat on high
Sweetly, sweetly through the night
And when the time is nigh
We jump down from the highest height!
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.
Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always*

Farm Cat Friday - This Can't Be Good
You all saw the erm, discussion on the cat tree yesterday between Sherpa and Harry, right?
It did end up with Harry winning the day.
Then the publicist looked over a little later in the afternoon.
Uh-oh!
I think there is going to be trouble.
What do you think?
Is Sherpa cleaning Harry or taste testing him?
Inquiring goats want to know!

Farm Cat Friday - The Farm Cats Have Running Water
The Farm cats received a fountain for free. Their opinions are their own.
Sherpa the Farm cat here.
Do you see what I have?
It's a Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain in the brand new Himalayan Blue color.
You are jealous.
I know it.
I think the blue looks lovely against my furs.
Harry the Farm cat seems very zen about it doesn't he?
Sometimes he just sits and watches the water flow through the charcoal filter.
It makes the water taste very good.
The publicist actually put it together herself!
This tells me that it must be pretty simple to do as the publicist is rather hapless when it comes to assembling things.
We like having all of this moving water to take our drinks. Did you know that we cats need about an ounce of water per pound of weight a day?
It's true and it's nice when the water comes in such a pretty fountain.
Even Stinky and Pumpkin like it but the publicist made noises about their using it when she was "indisposed" and without her camera.
This beautiful fountain is available from PetSafe for $99.99 and you can find it HERE
It is also available in red and white.
Harry meows that he is glad we have the blue one.
He likes blue.
Even though he is color blind.
Here is some exciting news! The publicist is giving one of these Drinkwell Pagoda Fountains in Himalayan Blue away on her blog! Just ENTER HERE
It's good for doggies too!

Farm Cat Friday - Stalking the Walls
Sherpa was enjoying himself up on his Wave.
But he did not know that he was being watched.
He did not know that SomeCat had been there before him!
Harry the Farm cat had jumped up on the Wave and then up on the Wall.
Harry was as Up as he could go!
Sherpa was content to just sit on the Wave though.
He finds it very comfortable.
But what does he see?
I'm sure you already know.
That's right - Harry the Farm cat!
He's stalking.
The publicist has to be careful.
Sometimes he likes to jump down from the Wave onto her in the bed.
It surprises her.
It makes the male person laugh.

Sherpa is Silly
The male person went away on a trip.
So of course the first thing that Sherpa did when he came back was....
...hop in his suitcase!
That silly cat just loves to be in things.
If he can get in something he will.
You are not going to go anywhere in that suitcase Sherpa!
Here! The publicist got you a new toy.
It is something for you to get into.
A bag! A catnip scented bag!
How do you like that?
Are you having fun?
Oh, I am sorry.
I should not have maaaaed fun.
I forgot you are a fierce and mighty hunter.
Just do not hunt me!
Where is Harry the Farm cat.
Is he not hunting with you?
What does he think of your new bag?
Oooooh.
OK then.
ps: The publicist thanks you all for the kind words about little Harley the goat. So far he is holding his own. She is feeling better too.

Farm Cat Friday - Who Cares About Kids
Harry the Farm cat here.
I can't believe all of the fuss over those silly goat kids.
What's it all about anyway?
It's not like they are kittens.
Sheesh.
You can see I am not fussing.
I am napping.
The publicist gets all silly when I nap.
I have no idea why.
She makes funny noises and says I'm so very cute.
It tends to wake me up.
I don't like this.
But back to those baby goats.
Are they really cuter than I am?
They can't come into the yurt and cuddle up to the publicist like I can.
So I would think she would prefer me to them.
She seems to like it when I do this.
I sit with her like this every night when she is on her computer.
No silly little goat kid can do that.
But then this does sometimes happen.
The publicist might or might not get clawed.
(I'm sorry it's fuzzy. It was low light and we were moving a lot.)
The publicist does like her peace.
Maybe that's why she likes those little goats.
They sleep at night.

Farm Cat Friday - The Farm Cats Taste a New Food
Product provided.
The Farm cats were sent a box. It was full of food.
Cat food from a company called "I and love and you"
Natural kibble and grain free canned food and freeze dried treats.
Harry gave it a thorough sniff test.
Erm, and taste test.
He approved.
In fact it was a crowded taste testing.
They went back and forth between the kibble and the natural canned cat food.
Fortunately no fights ensued.
Stinky stayed the longest of all the cats. She never passes up a meal.
She is one smart Farm cat!
Pumpkin checked it all out.
Pumpkin is the world's fussiest cat. He eats something like two foods. But never the same two foods.
He drives the publicist mad.
Maybe next week he will like this food but for now three out of four Farm cats like the "I and love and you" food very much. The publicist did note though that none of them liked the freeze dried
cat treats. Who knows what is up with them?
Given the fussiness of Pumpkin the publicist considered this a very successful taste testing. When three out of four Farm cats like a certain food she does a happy dance. It's not easy keeping that many kitties happy.
"I and love and you" has this to say:
They are a company that wants to make both you and your kitties and doggies happy. Yes, they make dog food and treats too!
You can see everything they have to sell on their website: iandloveandyou.com

Farm Cat Friday - Sherpa Is On Patrol
Every day Sherpa does his rounds.
He heads out onto the deck and he surveys his domain.
He is very enthusiastic about his work.
He is determined that no mousie, gopher, snake, lizard, bunny or chipmunk will get past him.
He knows that if he doesn't keep his eyes out those critters might wreak havoc.
And that is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN when Sherpa the Farm cat is on the scene.
Is that a mousie?
Or is it a gopher?
I'd better get a closer look!
This is what Sherpa does best!
Oh, it was just grasshoppers!
I'll leave them for the chickens.
And for Stinky the Farm Cat. She likes chasing grasshoppers.
I'll look for bigger prey!
I know it's out there.
It won't get past me!
I'm Sherpa the Farm cat.
I'm On The Job!
