So, Did you Have a Good Holiday?

We certainly enjoyed ours.
It rained all day on Christmas Eve.
We spent the day in the barn.

Harry the Farm cat spent the day sleeping.
I can't say I blame him.

But I guess the big question is, did we have a White Christmas?
Well,.....

.....sort of.
There was maybe an inch of snow on the ground.
I am not sure this counts as an OFFICIAL White Christmas.

But it was enough for me to be a snowgoat!
At least for a little while.
The snow was all gone by the afternoon but the publicist tells me that very cold weather is coming.

It was a very nice Christmas day.
Sherpa had fun.
But then Sherpa always has fun.

He played with wrapping paper.

And he played in boxes.
He could not have been happier.

We did get apples!
They were very tasty.
The kids have learned that.

It will never be the same around here again.
They are VERY greedy.

We all hope you had as nice a day as we did.

We Got A Special Present

We did - well, I did anyway.
Would you like to see what it is?

Can you guess?
It's very special and I can't believe she sent it to me,
It smells so very STUNNING.

Can you guess now?
Yes, that is right - Stunning Keisha sent me some of her furs!
With a card.
JUST FOR ME!

Uh-oh.
This cannot be good.
They are for me - not you Sherpa.
Go AWAY!

*sigh*
They were mine.
The publicist told me I had to share.
I do not understand why.

They were obviously for me.
What could CK see in that big orange lump?

I am far more handsome.
I can feed her - I catch gophers.
I would even give her the brains.

Oh well.
Thank you Cathy Keisha for the card and the furs.
I will cherish them always.
As soon as I get them back from Sherpa.

I can't wait.
I can't I can't I can't I can't I can't I can't I can't I can't!
Wait!

For what you ask?
Why Catmas of course!

But until then I will go mousie hunting.
Because I must remain ON THE JOB.

I am a GOOD CAT.
Right Santa Claws?

Farm Cat Friday - Catmas Carol: Kitties! We Have Sat on High

Kitties! We have sat on high
Sweetly purring o'er the yurt
And the other cats in reply
Meowing 'til human ears hurt....

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always.

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always.

Kitties, why this jubilee?
Why your walls exploring prolong?
How many dust bunnies do you see?
Which inspire your meowy song?

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always.

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always.

Look up on the walls and see
The Farm cats who live here and sing,
These  kitties so love to be,
up on the walls stalking things

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always.

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always

Kitties! We have sat on high
Sweetly, sweetly through the night
And when the time is nigh
We jump down from the highest height!

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip
In Excess Always.

Kaaaaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaaaatnip, Kaaaaatnip

In Excess Always*

I Am on the LOOKOUT

Harry the Farm cat here.

I am on the LOOKOUT!
Would you like to know why?
Because I heard we were getting a present.

I want to make sure I see it when it arrives.
I don't want the publicist hiding it from us.
It's from our Secret Paws Pals and it is OURS.

I hear a car!
Is that that mail lady?!

I'd better go check!
I AM ON THE JOB!

It wasn't the mail lady so I will take up my vigil on another post.
I can see the road from here.
If I'm really lucky the publicist will forget the pot of goat's milk!

Wait! Is that the mail lady?!
Or is it a MOUSIE!

Decisions, decisions.
You will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what caught my attention!

Farm Cat Friday - This Can't Be Good

You all saw the erm, discussion on the cat tree yesterday between Sherpa and Harry, right?
It did end up with Harry winning the day.
Then the publicist looked over a little later in the afternoon.

Uh-oh!
I think there is going to be trouble.
What do you think?

Is Sherpa cleaning Harry or taste testing him?
Inquiring goats want to know!

Farm Cat Friday - The Farm Cats Have Running Water

The Farm cats received a fountain for free. Their opinions are their own.

Sherpa the Farm cat here.
Do you see what I have?
It's a Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain in the brand new Himalayan Blue color.
You are jealous.
I know it.
I think the blue looks lovely against my furs.

Harry the Farm cat seems very zen about it doesn't he?
Sometimes he just sits and watches the water flow through the charcoal filter.
It makes the water taste very good.

The publicist actually put it together herself!
This tells me that it must be pretty simple to do as the publicist is rather hapless when it comes to assembling things.
We like having all of this moving water to take our drinks. Did you know that we cats need about an ounce of water per pound of weight a day?

It's true and it's nice when the water comes in such a pretty fountain.
Even Stinky and Pumpkin like it but the publicist made noises about their using it when she was "indisposed" and without her camera.

This beautiful fountain is available from PetSafe for $99.99 and you can find it HERE
It is also available in red and white.

Harry meows that he is glad we have the blue one.
He likes blue.
Even though he is color blind.

Here is some exciting news! The publicist is giving one of these Drinkwell Pagoda Fountains in Himalayan Blue away on her blog! Just ENTER HERE

It's good for doggies too!

Hey Nick! Hey Nick? What's That?

The little ones were out - they escaped I might add - exploring.
They came upon something familiar yet not.

Nora maaaaed, "Nick what is it?"
It looks like us - it's black and white.
But it doesn't smell like a goat.

What do you think it is?
Where is it going?

What do you think Nick?
What do you think?
It doesn't seem bothered by us.

Hey! It eats grass too.
Maybe it's some kind of exotic goat.
Some kind we don't know about.

But it doesn't have horns...
I'm very confused.
Will somegoat maaaa to me what this is?

Farm Cat Friday - Hey Step it Up Male Person: We Want IN!

I don't know.
Things were just not the same while the publicist gone.
I mean look at this!

Stinky wanted to go inside.
It was cold around these parts and she is an old cat.

Then Harry decided he wanted in too.
What is taking him so long.

Get a move on male person!
We're waiting!

Sheesh!
It's about time.
Male person - you were no publicist.

Farm Cat Friday - Happy Halloween

All of us here on the Farm wish those of you that celebrate a Happy Halloween.

Je suis Henri le Chat de Ferm et je porte un beret.
(I am Harry the Farm Cat and I wear a beret)

Sont vous impressionne?
(Are you impressed?)
Je pourrais aussi etre un vampire
(I might also be a vampire)

Mais je suis vraiment juste un chat dans un chapeau.
(But I am really just a cat in a hat)

Did you like my costume for Halloween?
I'll bet you didn't know I was such a talented chat, erm cat, did you?

Be sure to check out Sherpa's costume on the publicist's blog.

Harry the Farm Cat Meows, "I Will Keep an Eye on Things"

As you can see I am ON THE JOB.
I will keep an eye on things while the publicist is away.
I will make sure that things run smoothly around this Farm.

I have a good spot up here on this post.
I can see far and wide.
I can make sure the male person takes care of the goats.

I can make sure.....is that a mousie?
Oh,, no it was just a leaf blowing around.
Sorry about that.
I am the chief mousie hunter you know.

Back to being ON THE JOB.
I will make sure the male person keeps things running around here while the publicist is away.
We will miss her.
The male person does not pet us as much.
He tends to forget our feeding times.

And worst of all....HE DOES NOT GIVE US TREATS!
That is so very sad.

But I know that when she gets back the publicist will make up for it.
WON'T SHE!
