AbbyDay - I Stealth Graze the Best

That Pricilla!
She seems to think she is the best at everything.
She's a SpokesGoat.
She's a ReviewGoat.
Pfffft!

Well, I am ABBYGOAT!
No one else can be AbbyGoat better than I can!

I went out for a graze yesterday and I decided to show that I can stealth graze better than
old Pricilla.

My form is exquisite! My black fur looks beautiful against the green grass.

In fact I am so good that sometimes you cannot even see me!

Here I am!
Munching my delicious grass.

So what do YOU think?
Am I better than Pricilla?

Let Us Graze

It was time for the kids to go out on their first graze. This is always very exciting for both the kids and for the adult goats too. It is fun to watch the kids as they explore the big, wide world of the Farm. Now of course they are little and get tired easily so they didn't travel too far on their first day out of the pen. Jeffrey and Emily are two weeks old and Matthew is barely one week old.  They were excited and started out in a little goat tornado. It was hard to tell who was who!

They did eventually get tired of sniffing each other and got down to the business of learning to eat grass and tasty weeds.  Jillian showed Emily some yummy weeds over by the pile of old sheet rock.

Jeffrey seemed to find a nice, crisp weed all on his own. Good boy!

He seems pretty advanced, actually. He showed signs of stealth grazing already!

But all of this grazing is hard work and Jeffrey got plum tuckered out!

Emily had a great time on her first graze. She explored the junk wood pile with Matthew. It is so nice that all of the kids are getting along.

Matthew also enjoyed his day out. Mallory showed him some love as a good nanny should.

He did get a little confused as to what he should be eating, though.

The publicist is NOT a goat snack!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the little ones out for their graze. I am sure there will be lots more adventures with these three kids. They are keeping the publicist hopping, that's for sure!

Tomorrow: It's AbbyDay so you know that crazy things could happen.

Little Harry is Growing Up!

Our little Harry is learning some advanced skills these days. Just more signs that my little grandkid is growing up. It happens to all the kids, of course, but it would be nice if they stayed small, wouldn't it?

We were all out grazing the other day and Abby showed little Harry how to stealth graze. This is an important skill because it lets a goat sneak in and get the tastiest of greens without the other goats knowing. Look at him here - you can hardly see him!

He reaches up to take a nibble of a yummy weed. What a quick learner.

Doesn't that weed look delicious? I'll bet you are drooling. I know I am.

As he grows up Harry will a very successful grazer having learned all of these skills from his Nanny and the other goats in the herd. That's what it is all about. Lucky goat!

Tomorrow is AbbyDay so as you know ANYTHING is possible.

Who Else Was in the Wood Pile?

The wood pile has been a popular spot lately. You saw all the fun Harry had there yesterday.
Abby had her fun there too. But who else do you suppose was in the wood pile that day?
Why those big eaters, Jillian and Mallory of course! They never miss an opportunity for a good munch.
They each picked a spot and started scoping out the best place to nibble and eat.
Jillian loves looking among the branches for a yummy lichen.

Mallory prefers nibbling on the bark of the logs.

Is that Mallory doing some stealth grazing in the wood pile?

Uh-oh! A little white goat has hopped into the pile. That can only mean trouble! Tune in Tuesday to see what Kevin did in the wood pile.
Monday will be Goatucation - Do Goats Know Their Names?

Nom, Nom, Nom - Got Weed?

As I have reported it is starting to get warmer, the sun has been shining and the tasty weeds are starting to grow. I know most humans think of weeds as bad things but we goats just love them. They are some of the yummiest things around if you ask me. The male person loves the fact that we go around the Farm eating up all of the noxious weeds that grow. Personally, I can't wait until the knapweed starts to come in; it's my favorite! But for now, I will take what I can find, so will the others. So in the words of that famous feline, Daisy the Curly Cat - Nom, Nom, Nom!

Here I show little Kevin how to find some nice tasty greens.

Jillian has obviously learned how to stealth graze. Good for her!

Luke likes to eat his weeds on the run. Silly buck!

Michael sure concentrates while he eats his.

And Abby, well, Abby is always eating but I suppose she has to with the baby and all.

These greens are so much yummier than hay. Not that hay is bad but mmmm, mmmm! We spend a lot of our day eating and it is nice to be getting some variety in our diet. I hope you don't think we are all little piggies.

Lazy Grazy Days

Lately it has seemed like summer here on the Farm. The sun has been shining and it has been very warm. Since I am an African goat this is MY kind of weather. All that beautiful sunshine is causing the grass to grow. The yummy weeds too. Fresh greens taste so good after a winter of eating nothing buy hay. The publicist has been letting us all out to graze and it has been wonderful.
Michael and Luke went to their favorite place over by the barn. They like it there because there are lots of little pine trees to eat.

Jillian and Mallory are just getting a feel for the Farm. They are still learning their way around and finding where the good grass is. They went grazing over by the riverbank.

Little Kevin is learning to eat his greens. This is good because it means he isn't attached to me all the time. Not that I mind nursing him but it is nice to be able to go out and about, you know?

I practiced some stealth grazing. This way I got to eat all the tasty new shoots and no one else knew they were there. Plus you never know what you might see when you are hiding.

Even Fred the cat got in on the grazing action.

I love these days and I hope they last but I heard the publicist talking about something called a front. It seems the weather is going to be changing and and it is going to get colder. Oh well. I know summer is not too far away. The grass will continue to grow and the weeds too.

Remember to sign up for my newsletter. Everyone who signs up through May 16th is entered into a drawing for THREE BARS of my rich soap. Woo hoo! So what do you have to lose?
