Kevin in the Wood Pile

Aaaah, the wood pile! I love the wood pile! As you have seen we have ALL been enjoying the wood pile lately, from Harry, to Abby to Jillian and Mallory. But who is left? Why the little white goat! What did Kevin do in the wood pile - why eat, of course!

He also showed his nephew Harry where some of the best bits to eat could be found.

Isn't he a nice Uncle?
He loves to scratch his head on the branches in the wood pile - I have to admit it does feel good!

He loves to clamber about. Sometimes I wonder about him, but I guess I know what he is doing. He explores the part of the wood pile that has the waste wood from the building of the publicist's house. He is not supposed to go there but he does. Baaaad Kevin!

Isn't he just the cutest kid?

Tomorrow you will learn what what happened when Harry met Stinky.

Who Else Was in the Wood Pile?

The wood pile has been a popular spot lately. You saw all the fun Harry had there yesterday.
Abby had her fun there too. But who else do you suppose was in the wood pile that day?
Why those big eaters, Jillian and Mallory of course! They never miss an opportunity for a good munch.
They each picked a spot and started scoping out the best place to nibble and eat.
Jillian loves looking among the branches for a yummy lichen.

Mallory prefers nibbling on the bark of the logs.

Is that Mallory doing some stealth grazing in the wood pile?

Uh-oh! A little white goat has hopped into the pile. That can only mean trouble! Tune in Tuesday to see what Kevin did in the wood pile.
Monday will be Goatucation - Do Goats Know Their Names?

Harry and the Wood Pile

Yesterday you all learned how much Abby loves it here on the Farm. Well she is not the only one who loves it here on the Farm. I LOVE IT TOO. Harumph. She thinks she is the only one that counts around here. But this is MY blog and I tell the important tales. So today I am going to tell you all about Harry discovering the wood pile. You all know, of course, how much we goats love the wood pile. It is full of tasty logs and branches to nibble and munch. We hadn't been over there in a while and it was Harry's first time trying bark and lichens and such. Needless to say, he enjoyed himself. Abby took him over there on our graze that day.

He leaped right up on the big logs and started checking things out.

Then he got right down to some serious nibbling.

He checked out all the different parts of the wood pile. He wasn't going to miss a place to munch!

He found something good to eat over there...

He even did some stealth nibbling! He is advanced for his age.

His Uncle Kevin joined him for a bit and even showed him how to scratch an itch on one of the branches. This is very useful information!

He, of course, leaped from log to log. He is a little leaper!

I think he enjoyed his time at the wood pile very much and I am sure he will be going back. Who else enjoyed the wood pile that day? Come back tomorrow to find out!

The Joy of the Wood Pile

I have talked of the wood pile here on the Farm several times before. We all like to explore it and munch on the bark. The bark is mighty tasty if you ask this old goat and it adds that extra something to our diet. I have to admit that our diet is quite varied right now due to all of the grass and weeds growing so we don't have much to complain about. It doesn't mean that we don't like to waddle over and have a taste of bark now and again. Kevin is especially enamoured of the wood pile. He loves to - all together now - hop on the pile and find the tastiest bits of bark to eat.

He is still a bit of a dainty eater, but that is OK.

The other day he was on the pile and Jillian and Mallory went over to join him

.
But I guess they wanted the pile to themselves because they started to butt him. They really like to butt the poor little kid. He is tough, though and he takes it just fine.

After Jillian and Mallory had their fill

Kevin just hopped right back up and had some more.

Even Abby manages to amble over and eat some bark. Although she currently isn't climbing the pile right now. She is to, uhm, plump. That's a good word. Plump.

The bucks like the wood pile too so you can see it is an equal opportunity feeding place!
