You will recall from yesterday that the horses across the street were very interested in the goings on around the Farm.
What do you suppose had them looking so intently?
Just look at their pretty horse faces - I think they want to escape and come visit!
Maybe this explains it...
That's right!
The male person went on a hay run!
Yum!
Hay!
He worked very hard piling by our barn. Isn't he just the best? We love the male person.
And this is only half of our hay. He is going to get more this weekend. We are the luckiest goats!
Speaking of us - Abby was watching the male person too.
So were Mallory and Matthew.
But where am I?
I was practicing my goat yoga.
What?!
A doe has to stay limber, doesn't she?
Namaste.
Tomorrow is AbbyDay

Ooooh, We Have Nice Neighbors!
I have written before of the horses across the street; of how they sometimes like to come over and say "neeeeiiiiiiggggghhhhh!" But I have never told you about the horses' publicist!
To tell you the truth I hadn't really met him.
He was out the other day trimming his trees and our publicist ran out and asked him if he wouldn't mind sharing the branches.
Because you know how much we goats love to munch on spruce and pine. Mmmm!
And look what he brought to us!
Aren't we the luckiest goats ever?!
Of course Mallory and Matthew were right in there munching away.
I think they found a nice tasty bit of bark to nibble. Oooh, how yummy!
The publicist is so good to me. It was a cold morning so she brought a branch to me in my little goathouse. She really spoils me.
It was a tasty blue spruce. A very special treat!
Of course Matthew had to come and try and snitch MY special branch! Harumph!
I think he might be giving that chicken the eye. What do you think?
Then the horses' publicist had a great big bonfire with the rest of the branches.
I'll bet it was nice and warm over by that fire.

I Thought Goats Were Funny
He really went at it. Twisting and turning.
Doesn't he look happy?
Until he finally decided he was dusty enough. Then he got up.
Now, I am the first to admit a good dust bath feels great but give a goat some warning.
I must have jumped 10 feet. I trotted myself back to my pen to rest after that.It was more excitement than I could stand. Little Kevin lay down with me which was very nice.
I hope you all have a calm and quiet Friday.
I know I am starting to sound like broken record, but I am excited about my contest! Be sure to sign up for my newsletter. Horses?! On the Happy Goats Farm?
I am STILL pregnant. I must admit I am getting tired, not to mention tired of being kicked by 8 legs. Well, at least 8 legs. I have always had twins but triplets do happen. But on to today's tale. It's a horse tale or perhaps it's many horse tails. Ha!

The new horses were split between visiting the other horses and munching the grass in the lot next door to us goats. It was a thrilling time; there were horses everywhere!

I looked up the other day and saw horses in the road right in front of the farm! They weren't the horses from the farm across the street - the ones we like to go visit. I didn't know these horses at all. I didn't know WHERE they came from.
The horses across the street were very excited to see these new horses. They were prancing and running up and down their paddock.

Horses are so beautiful when they run. The publicist tried to get good pictures but had a very difficult time between the rain and trying to not get run down by the running horses.
Finally we learned that the horses belonged to our friends who live further up our road. They have two pretty little girls who come and visit us when they go out for walks in the summer.
They led the horses back to their home and the great adventure was over.
It sure made for a fun day here on the farm.

More Snow!

We all woke up to more snow today. As I have posted before, this goat is just plain tired of snow. But I have to admit that our publicist takes good care of us. That or she is plum crazy! If it were the male person making that decision it would be crazy but I choose to think that she loves us and wants us to be comfortable. She remembers that we are African goats and that we like things that are NOT snow covered.
Every time it snows she goes into our goat pens and makes sure that we have an area of hay that is cleared of the snow. How nice is that? This way we can sit outside on nice hay instead of having to sit on cold snow. The male person sees this as a waste of time but we goats appreciate it. This way we don't have to spend the whole day in our goat houses. That wouldn't be so bad for us girls as our goat house is somewhat spacious.
But for the boys it might feel a bit constricting. This is Michael's
and this is Luke's
Would you want to spend all day just sitting in one of them? Doesn't the nice patch of hay look inviting? She even cleans off our spools so if we want to sit up on them we can. I think she is about the coolest publicist ever! I just wish the male person would stop laughing at her.
I can just hope that the snow season will end soon. Even the horses across the street were huddled against their barn trying to stay warm. Their publicist is not as nice as ours....
Oh well, there is not much this goat can do but eat lots of hay and stay out of the snow. I am just thankful for a great publicist and a warm place to lay my pregnant self. I hope all of you are a warm place too!

Happy Goats Farm Visitors - Black Cat
Today I want to introduce you to another regular visitor to the Happy Goats Farm. It is a cat the publicist calls "Black Cat" for obvious reasons; he is a black cat! We don't know exactly where he comes from but we think he lives in the barn across the street with the horses.
You remember the horses from Michael's Big Adventure, don't you?
He is a very handsome boy but he does like to get into cat-calling fights with Fred the cat. Boy can they be noisy. Sometimes I think they are going to break my goat eardrums. I really wonder if cats are necessary....but I know there are too many cat lovers out there for me to really go to far with that sentiment.
Black Cat likes to sit in the hay pile and scope out the scene. Sometimes he just sleeps up there all day. Maybe that is why we don't have mice in our barn. What do you think?

Michael's Big Adventure
Today Michael the goat went on a big adventure. Every so often the publicist/udder massage specialist takes Michael the goat for a walk. He needs to get out and work off some uh, excess energy. He gets very excited about these walks. He is also a very good goat on his walks; he loves the publicist as she bottle fed him as a baby so he thinks she is his mother.
Then it was off to see the horses across the street. They are so pretty and friendly. Sometimes they escape from their corral and come to visit us. But they also come and eat our hay! Now, I don't go and eat their hay so I think they should leave our hay alone. All four of them were in our yard one day last summer eating from our hay pile. Humpf! Horses eat a lot of hay. But I digress.....Michael enjoyed saying "Maaaaaa" to the horses and they neighed in return.
From there it was a quick trip through the goat barn for an extra handful of grain - lucky goat! Now Michael is back in his pen eating hay! The sun is shining today so we are all Happy Goats!
