Thelma Wants to Know if She is a Mountain or a Goat

I can see where she might be a bit confused.
We were all out enjoying the sunshine.
We hadn't had sunshine for a while.
Thelma thought she would have a quiet sit. A quiet cud chew. A nice bask.

That was not to be the case.
She found herself climbed.

I am not sure she was too happy about this but she is a good nanny and she let her kids play.
At one point little Keith was even noshing on her horn!
Silly Keith - there is no nutrition in nanny horn!

Mick finally gave up and went on to other adventures.
It took Keith a bit longer.

But soon Thelma the GOAT was basking alone in the sun, chewing her cud in peace.

I hope you have just as nice a day.

We Just Want to Bask in Peace

Before I start my post for today the publicist wants me to maaaa a great big "thank you" from her for all of the nice get well wishes. She is feeling better now and hopes her bad days stay away for a bit.

The publicist checks on us many times throughout the day.
She looks out the windows of the yurt to make sure that nogoat is caught up in a fence or that nothing is bothering us.

She sees all manner of things when she looks out her windows.
The other day she looked out and she saw those stupid chickens bothering us.
They were EVERYWHERE!

Look!

I was just trying to bask in peace in the nice sunshine.

But could I?

NO!
I was surrounded by stupid chickens!
It is NOT right!
This is the GOAT pen, not the CHICKEN pen.
Harumph!

I could not even go into my goat house.

They were in there too!
The nerve of them.
Clucking birds!

I was not the only goat they were bothering.

They were all around AbbyGoat too.
If I were them I would be more careful....

...you never know what AbbyGoat might do!

Thelma couldn't even eat her hay without being hen pecked!

Louise was having issues too.

Just trying to enjoy the nice, warm sun and the birds! The birds!
She must have some secret though, because when I looked over just a minute later I saw this:

Oh how I envied her.
Do you think she will teach me her secret?

I hope so.

Super Basking

I am preparing for the Goat Olympics.
You might think I am too old but that is not true.
I am entering the Basking competition.

I do not think there is goat out there who can out bask me.
Plus, I have a surprise up my hoof.

You all know I am an expert basker. I can bask in the winter! I can bask in the summer!
Just look at my style.
But what no one knows is that I, Pricilla can....

REVERSE BASK!
Have you EVER seen anything like this before?!
I did not think so.

Just look at my form.

I am NOT sleeping, I am CONCENTRATING!

Just look at my concentration.
I am SURE to win gold!

Silly Sunday - I Cannot Bask in the Snow

This is just all wrong.
I CANNOT bask in the snow.

So I demand that the publicist fix this weather.
RIGHT NOW!

Are you with me?

Aaaaah

I am happy to report that the snow is all gone.
I am happy to report that the sun has been shining.
I am happy.

It has been very nice around the Farm.
I have been spending my time in my favorite basking spot.

The sun shines and I bask.
What more could a goat want?

Well, I will tell you!
I could wish for the accursed paparazzi to go away so I can enjoy my basking.

Aaaah, that is better.
Peace at last.

Who Rules the Prime Basking Spot?

When the snows fell it was not nice in the doe pen.
There were not too many places were we could be that weren't covered with well, snow.
One of the few places available was my favorite basking spot by the goat house.

It's MY basking spot and the other goats should know this.

It did not stop them from trying to take it away from me.
Just look at them there trying to STEAL my spot.

I was having none of it.
I stood my ground.

Even when this happened.

Do you see that?
Can you believe it?
Nora put her head down to me!
To ME!

Harumph!
Well! I maaaaed her.

I didn't care what ANY of them thought. I was going to stay in my spot.
And so I did.

I Think I am Losing My Mojo!

Harumph!
I think because I am an old, retired goat the other goats seem to think they should not listen to me any more.

I wanted to bask in MY regular spot but Nora the goat was there.

Harumph!
I tried talking to her but she said she wasn't moving.

She said she was pregnant and SHE deserved the prime basking spot.

She got INDIGNANT with me!

INDIGNANT!

Can you imagine such a thing?
I am the head goat around here.
I am the Famous SpokesGoat.

Well, we will just see how long she gets to bask in peace....

Maahamaaahamaaahamaaahahahaha!
I have friends in low places.

The Sun! The Sun! We All Saw the Sun!

We were such Happy Goats yesterday!
Why you ask?
The SUN came out!
The sun! We have not seen the sun in WEEKS.

We did also wake up to new snow on the ground but I did not even mind because the SUN was out. It was beautiful. It was bright. It was yellow. It was THE SUN!!
Can you tell I was just a little bit excited?

I did my favorite thing to do in the sun.

I basked.

I basked ALL DAY LONG.

I basked in my favorite basking place.
I did not share it either.

I know that might sound mean but I am an old goat and I think the other goats knew I needed my time in the sun.
I even fell asleep.

I am embarrassed the publicist took this photo.
It's like when you humans drool in your sleep.

Please excuse me while I try and butt her.

Kringle Learns to Eat Hay

I am back!
The publicist is feeling a little bit better so she let me use the computer today.
It snowed all day!
I was not a happy goat.

That is why I am going to show you some photos of the last sunny day we had.
I like to think of sunny days.
I don't like this snow stuff.
Harumph!

Little Kringle was basking in MY basking spot.

I gave it up to him because I am a good goat.
But he decided he wanted to explore a bit.

He went to the front of the goat house.
There he encountered his Nanny.

What did she do?
She licked him, of course!

He also noticed something exciting IN the goat house.
HAY!

He had to go check that out.
He was learning that hay was good to eat.

He went in there to see what he could nibble.
His nanny was trying to hog all of the hay but he is a smart little kid.

He got right under her and starting eating that tasty hay.

How do I know this you ask?
I know this because I took back my basking spot.

And I spied on him.
I am not a dumb goat.
Not at all!

The Sun!

It came out today!
I was a very excited goat.
I knew I had hard work to do.

I went directly to my assigned location.

I got myself in position.

But I didn't like this way. I needed a change.
I would be here a while and I wanted to be comfortable.

There! Now I am ready for work.

What?!
Basking is VERY hard work.

Not everyone can bask like me.
I am a pro.

Oops.
Well, even pros get tired.

I hope you had a good day at work too.

Merry SITSmas!

WHAT?! Merry SITSmas

Yes, Merry SITSmas
SITS is a group I belong to that promotes women bloggers and provides support through comments.  It stands for The Secret is in the Sauce. And the Sauce is comments!

And today is the 2nd Annual SITSmas. There will be lots of blog visiting and comment leaving and possibly eggnog. I don't care about the eggnog, you know me I just want a good apple.

I also suspect I am the only goat in the group.

So if any of my regular readers are bloggers I suggest you check SITS out - I have found some great blogs there. There are prizes all day long today for SITSmas. The publicist has donated one of her bracelets.

So on this fun day I leave you with a photo of me basking in the sun. Given that it was 14* below zero yesterday I am looking for all the sun I can find!

You can also get to SITS through the banner on the right side of my blog. It's pink. That's a good color since I am a doe.

Tomorrow: Wordless Wednesday - more from the shipping assistant
