We got to enjoy some more tasty corn husks today.
My studmuffin got his own pile to munch on.
He was enjoying them when he was interrupted!
Mallory the goat was trying to STEAL his corn husks!
She had already had her own pile.
You would think that would have been enough.
But not for Mallory!
She finaly left and he went back to munching.
But what is this?
A small brown goat eating my studmuffin's husks!
Marion the goat had broken into his pen to steal his snack.
Baaaaad Marion. Baaaad, baaad, baaaad!
She was encouraged to leave by the publicist and Luke went back to nomming BY HIMSELF.
As it should be, again!
He then gave the goat stare of death to the publicist so she left too.
I wouldn't mess with that stare, would you?

CORN!
The corn harvest is starting to come it!
That is exciting news for us goats.
Very exciting news.
Because we get the corn husks.
Mmmm, corn husks.'
Have I mentioned that this is my favorite time of year?
The publicist took a video of us enjoying our corn husks.
You will see that I looked a little reticent in this video but I was only acting.
I WANTED the publicist to hand feed me.
I am a special goat so I deserve special treatment.
Don't you agree?
I hope you enjoyed this video of all of us enjoying our corn husks.
Don't worry about my studmuffin. He got some corn husks too.
The publicist is just not adept at editing her videos.
Did you hear the wind blowing?
It was quite chilly yesterday. Not at all like August should be.

Did Someone Say Apples?
Oh it's that time of year!
Apple season.
I love apple season even more than I love carrot top season.
Apples are my favorite treat.
mmmm, apples!
The publicist was lucky at a yard sale and got herself an apple press.
She made some apple cider and after she was done she was left with this...
Lots of apple pieces.
She wasn't going to let all of those apple pieces go into the mulch, at least not directly.
heh heh
Oh, no!
She was going to give us goats a treat!
First she gave some to my studmuffin.
He really dug in and lapped those apple pieces up, didn't he?
Luke, oh Luke?
LUKE!
I guess he is too busy enjoying his treat.
Or wearing it.
Silly Luke!
Matthew enjoyed the apple bits as well.
In fact, he wouldn't let anyone else up on the spools to share.
Mean Matthew!
Mallory was just as greedy.
You can see her hairs are all ruffed up - she is spoiling for an apple fight!
She even had a showdown with a chicken.
That's when Abby snuck in and got some.
Lucky Abby!
I think the publicist needs to give us seperate piles of apple bits like she did the carrot tops. I am going to maaaaaa to her about this.

AbbyDay - I Dance with Joy for Carrot Tops
I am sure you are all probably tired of hearing about our carrot top eating orgy.
But we goats LOVE our carrot tops.
As Pricilla mentioned in previous blog posts the publicist gave us each our OWN pile of carrot tops. This prevented some of the shoving and butting that sometimes went on with treats around this Farm.'
Not that I would ever have butt anygoat out of the way for a treat.
Not me!
I just went right up and took a big bite out of my pile of carrot tops.
Mmm, they are mighty tasty if I do say so myself.
You humans do not know what you are missing.
I just spent my time enjoying the fresh green taste and contemplating life
I thought I heard someone sneaking up on me.
But I was wrong, it was just the wind.
So I went back to enjoying my yummies.
I thank the male person for growing such good things!
I want to say for ALL of us goats that we would never, NEVER eat a redheaded person.
EVER.
We just like the green parts on top of the carrots.
But we goats LOVE our carrot tops.

Sarah and Nora
Sometimes I am a very baaaad reporter.
I forget to tell you about some of the goats on the Farm.
It is not because I don't like them, it is mostly because they are good goats and don't cause any problems.
Sarah and Nora just run and play with the herd and they don't butt me out of the way like Mallory.
They aren't a cute little kid like Marion.
And they aren't Abby. NO goat is Abby.
Sarah will be getting more time on the blog when she has her kids in October but I thought it would be nice to write about them today.
After i enjoyed my carrot tops the publicist let the other goats have some too.
This was the very first time that Sarah and Nora had ever had carrot tops!
Sarah gave them a bit of a sniff
Then she dug right in!
Nora found that she liked them very much too!
They each had their own special pile so there was no butting!
Nora is a bit shy around the camera so it is hard for the publicist to get a good shot.
Although I have to admit it is hard to look good with your mouth full of food.
Carrot tops are quite yummy as I am sure you have all figured out.

Mmmmm, I Enjoy My Carrot Tops in Peace
I know a goat shouldn't blog with her mouth full...
But I have to tell you how nice the publicist was to me!
She let me eat my carrot tops before all the other goats!
Wasn't that sweet?
She knows I am getting a bit old now and I can't fight them off like I used to.
Heh heh
Little does she know I just put on an act so I get special treatment.
Don't tell her, OK?
It will be our secret!
This way I got to eat my carrot tops in peace.
I could stand and enjoy each dainty little nibble.
I could rest my stomachs.
I could really relish my treat.
I know it is not lady like at all to have greens coming out of my mouth like this but
carrot tops are just SO tasty!
It wasn't long before the other goats came roaring in for their treat.
I know I can't have them ALL....
Or can I?
That would be very selfish of me though and I am not a selfish goat.
Most of the time.
I will have to ruminate on this.
I will let you know on Thursday what I decided.

Luke the Goat Keeps Watch Even While Eating Carrot Tops
I thought it was time my studmuffin has some time on the blog.
I don't show him much I know.
I like to keep him to myself.
I am sure all you human women out there understand this.
But he is such a good billy goat.
He takes care of all of us.
Even when he is eating his treat of carrot tops he is keeping watch to make sure that nothing is going to hurt us does.
Just look!
First he gives his carrot tops a good sniff. And a taste test.
They sure do smell good!
But even as he is busy enjoying their fresh flavor...
He looks one way
And then the other
To keep his eyes on what is going on around the Farm.
He doesn't miss a trick!
Or a carrot top!
I don't show him much I know.

TREATS!
Someone sent us goats a bucket of treats!
How exciting is that?
They have an apple tree and they sent us the windfall apples.
Mmmm, apples!
We goats love apples.
And there are rumors of corn husks under the apples.
Mmmm, corn husks.
We are the luckiest goats in the world!
Thank you nice people.
We appreciate your sending us such yummy things to eat.
Burp!

The Publicist is Very Busy
The publicist has been very busy with produce from the garden.
This means she has not been spending much time with us goats.
Can you imagine such a thing?
On the other hand we are getting lots of yummy treats.
Like carrot tops.
Mmmm, carrot tops.
I will have lots more photos to show you.
The publicist hasn't had time to let me use the computer so you will have to settle for this one...

AbbyDay - Pfffft! To Marion the Goat
You heard me!
Pfffft!
I am the expert hay eater around this Farm.
I have been here longer and I have hay eatin' style!
I line myself up with that hay feeder and
I dig in!
I know where to find the tastiest bits of hay dust.
'Cause we all know that hay dust is THE best part of the hay.
And I can find it on BOTH sides of the hay feeder.
It also makes a strong fashion statement.
Marion also has nothing on the goat stare of death.
So leave me alone so I can eat my hay in peace.
Nom, nom, nom...
I hope you all have a very nice day.
I will because I am full of hay.
Heh - I am now a PoetGoatAbby.

Marion Shows You the Best Way to Eat Hay
Harumph!
Marion the goat seems to think SHE knows the best way to eat hay.
She is only a kid!
How could she possibly know the best way to eat hay?
How could she know better than the rest of us goats?
Harumph I say, Harumph!
But so as not to seem like an old goat who can't learn new tricks I will watch.
With my back turned....
As Marion the Goat demonstrates this supposedly great technique.
So here she is
I know...she is cute.
But that has nothing to do with eating hay!
Oh Wow! She does get right in that feeder, doesn't she?
She is buried in the hay!
I don't think big goats can do that though. Our heads won't fit!
This is hay eating for kids.
Hmmmmm, maybe that is the wholeplot plan.
Do you trust that face?
She does look like she enjoyed her hay....
