Log Hopping...and Munching

The publicist thought that the kids might be a bit bored so she brought them a little present.
She brought them some log stumps to jump on and to munch.  You know we like to munch on the branches and bark of trees so having the stumps was nice.

Little Matthew was the first one up on a stump. He is a cutie pie!

He could be a goat on a stump model, don't you think?

Emily took her chances with a stump on its side.

Hmmm, maybe munching is better.

Mallory sure likes to munch on the stumps. I don't blame her.

Jillian watches over Jeffrey as he plays on the stump. I think she just wants to munch and she is waiting for him to leave.

I think it would be funny if I tried to get on one of the stumps. Heh heh. THAT is not going to happen. I am a smart goat!

The Kids Graze

I know that I reported that we had our last graze of Fall. What I didn't report was all of the fun that the kids had when they went out for the graze. Since the kids were born late in the year they really haven't had many grazes - which is rather sad for them but it was the safe thing to do since the Bald Eagle hangs out in the tree. He would find goat kid to be a tasty treat and that would make us all very sad. So this graze was one of the few chances the kids got to go on a graze.

I will say that they took to it like pros! They had a very good time but I think they spent most of the time running and exploring rather than munching. I suppose that is OK when you are still nursing.

They ran over to check out the view of the river.

Then they ran down the gully and back again and discovered the big hill in the yard. THAT was really fun for them. They felt like Kids of the Hill.

They ran up.

 They frolicked

Matthew thought he saw something but he soon heard his nanny calling so.....

They ran down.

What more fun could a herd of small kids have? I suspect that they would have stayed out all day if the publicist had let them!

Tomorrow: A visitor!

Where's the Water?

We goats drink a lot of water. We like our water hot so the publicist brings it to us fresh from the tap every morning. Isn't she nice? There is nothing like a drink of steaming hot water just after one has been milked to get your day started.

The kids are starting to appreciate a nice drink of water. And the joys of hopping and leaping from the water bucket holder. Silly kids!
You can see them checking it out. They are so excited in the mornings!

They hop on top.

Sometimes they miss completely and land in the center.

They leap!

They sniff and explore. It's such a simple thing but it makes them so happy.

Sometimes we don't even wait until the bucket makes it into the holder. That water just looks so inviting.

Life sure is more fun with the kids in the pen. It is certainly more entertaining.

Tomorrow: AbbyDay. Heaven help us.

Goatucations - Are Jeffrey, Emily and Matthew Staying on the Farm

It's Monday so it's time for Goatucation.  Many of you have asked whether the kids are going to stay on the Farm. While I realize this is not a typical Goatucation question I figured I would address it. Plus you will now get to look at photos of the kids.

I know how much you like to look at photos of the kids.

Jeffrey and Emily, seen here looking exceptionally cute

have a home on a Farm not to far from here. In fact, they are going home with the publicist's mail lady! She saw them and fell in love.

Matthew, also very cute

doesn't have a home yet. The publicist and male person are trying hard to find him a home. But with a cute little face like this

it shouldn't be too hard. Don't you agree?

I know this wasn't a particularly informative Goatucation but I know that all of my wonderful readers like to know what is going on with the cute kids of the Farm. And I thank you for that.

The publicist asked me to remind you to check out the cool giveaway she has on her blog. She has an 18" x 14" Poster Print OF A PICTURE OF YOUR CHOOSING. How cool is that? The publicist made one with MY FACE on it. It's really cute if I do say so myself. It looks like this:

Just think of what you could create! The giveaway ends tonight!

Dreaming of the Big Day

It is not that long until I have my kids. I am excited because they are so cute when they are little. But then I could always find that I have another Abigail on my udder and that would not be so nice, would it? Abby was a nice goat in the beginning, I don't know what happened to her. I am a good nanny goat so it is nothing that I taught her. There is plenty of food on the Happy Goats Farm so it is not like she has get to the hay pile first or she will starve. I just don't know....

My Sarah was a good little goat. She loved the publicist and she was good to me. I know she is happy in her new home with little Nora (Abby's kid). Nora was very pleasant too.

Hmmm, must just be something about Abigail. Even when Sarah and Michael were little goatlings she would try and butt them and stare them down on the spools.

Maybe she just likes to be top goat.

It will be interesting to see what coloring my new kids are going to have. Since I am a brown and white goat and Luke is well, rather cow like in his coloring who knows what these kids are going to look like! I truly fear polka dotted goats. That would be something now, wouldn't it? I can see it now brown and black spots all over the poor little goatling.....I would never live it down. But I have to admit that it was love at first sight when I saw Luke arrive at the Farm. Even though he was just a little guy he caught my eye. I knew that we could make - oh this is a family blog, I will stop there. Just rest assured that our kids will be cute no matter what their coloring and I will love them as long as they don't start acting like Abigail.

I just know I can't wait 'cause I am tired of hearing all the other goats call me "wide load."

Small Goat, Big World

I have been thinking lately about bringing my kids into this world. It is a great big world and we are such small goats. I sometimes stand on the edge of the Farm and look out over the river and wonder what lies on the other side. This is my adventurous side coming through but I guess I will never know - I have to stay on the farm with my family that loves me and my new kids that I know I will love. This is a good thing as I am very happy here - in spite of Abigail.

I guess my hormones are making me contemplative....I promise to be back to my usual funny self tomorrow.

I Am Not Fat - I Am Pregnant!

I know I should not have to bring this up, but I am a famous spokesgoat and need to look my best at all times. I never know when I will have a media appointment and then there are always those pesky paparazzi. You never know where they will pop up. Last summer I found one hiding in the corn stalks! A goat has no privacy!

I have announced my pregnancy so it should be no surprise that I am gaining weight but the tabloid press can be so nasty. All this talk about "Piggy Pricilla" and "Greedy Grain Gorging Goat" can really get to a doe. I NEED to gain a certain amount of weight to give birth to healthy kids. I think I look wonderful in this condition. So I am asking the press to back off - or I will be forced to butt!

My publicist did not approve that last statement, but I am hormonal....
