AbbyDay - I Will Be Nice Just to Prove I Can Be

It's Friday and that means it's AbbyDay!  Let's hear a hooray for Abbyday! Ordinarily I would write all about ME but I am going to be nice today and let Jillian have the day to write about her memories of Jeffrey and Emily the goats. I know she is sad that they have left; I know how that feels because it hasn't been that long since my Harry went to his new Farm.  So here are Jillian's picks of pictures to remember her kids.

They were so cute when they were born; so much black you would have thought they were mine!

In fact little Jeffrey looked an awful lot like my Nora!

They grew strong and soon started doing all the things that goat kids do. Like lying in the sun with their nanny.

Emily was especially advanced for a little kid. She did some fashion modeling

and she loved to fly!

Jeffrey just liked to do the goat stomp at the publicist. Silly Jeffrey!

They loved playing with their half-brother Matthew; three little goats having fun.

But now they live on their new Farm where they will grow big and strong.
Fare well little kids.
Fare well.

Oh well, it wouldn't be AbbyDay without ONE picture of ME....

I hope you enjoyed this special edition of AbbyDay.

Tomorrow: Pine Tree Eating Retrospective - otherwise known as the publicist took a lot of pictures she didn't get to use and now she wants to use them 'cause she hasn't had time to take more.

The publicist has asked me to remind you to enter her giveaway for 50 Custom Cards on her blog. It ends tonight so hurry on over and enter!

Emily and Jeffrey's New Farm

Well it was a sad day on the Farm yesterday as the male person and the publicist took Emily and Jeffrey off to their new Farm.  It's a very nice Farm and they will be well loved and spoiled but it is always hard to see the kids leave.  You saw them in the back of the male person's truck in my Wordless Wednesday post.   They drove them just a short distance away and this is their new goat house. Isn't it nice?

They have a great hay feeder

Their new goat pen has some logs for munching and a platform for hopping and another little goathouse for them to use to get out of the sun.

The kids went into their new pen and started to explore.

They checked it all out

Jeffrey munched

And they both enjoyed climbing on the platform

Emily did some hopping!

I think they are going to be just fine. In fact the publicist talked with their new owners this morning and they were settling in very well. We will miss them but we know they are in a good home!

Tomorrow: It's AbbyDay!

Jeffrey Escapes!

Oooh, that Jeffrey! He is a little devil goat! I think he has some of his grand aunt Abby in him. After we all had our fun in the garden he decided he didn't want to go back into the goat pen so he ran off to do some exploring all on his own.

He went to visit Luke the goat!  Now I am all about visiting Luke the goat - he is a handsome hunk o'goat. But Jeffrey is just a little guy and Luke is not interested in kids.
Much.

Jeffrey and Luke gave each other a bit of a sniff...

...and then Jeffrey popped into Luke's pen for a look-see.

Luke just wasn't sure about this little goat in his pen. He rather likes having it all to himself.

After a bit Jeffrey decided he wanted to go back to the doe pen and started looking for the hole in the fence.

Success!

Before he went back though, he visited a bit with the publicist.

She can't resist a little black goat!

Doesn't he have the cutest little goat face?

I think so too.

Tomorrow: Goatucation: Making goat cheese. Chevre.

The Kids Graze

I know that I reported that we had our last graze of Fall. What I didn't report was all of the fun that the kids had when they went out for the graze. Since the kids were born late in the year they really haven't had many grazes - which is rather sad for them but it was the safe thing to do since the Bald Eagle hangs out in the tree. He would find goat kid to be a tasty treat and that would make us all very sad. So this graze was one of the few chances the kids got to go on a graze.

I will say that they took to it like pros! They had a very good time but I think they spent most of the time running and exploring rather than munching. I suppose that is OK when you are still nursing.

They ran over to check out the view of the river.

Then they ran down the gully and back again and discovered the big hill in the yard. THAT was really fun for them. They felt like Kids of the Hill.

They ran up.

 They frolicked

Matthew thought he saw something but he soon heard his nanny calling so.....

They ran down.

What more fun could a herd of small kids have? I suspect that they would have stayed out all day if the publicist had let them!

Tomorrow: A visitor!

Jeffrey Stomps His Hooves

We already know that Emily is the Queen of the Goathouse but little Jeffrey is trying to take over. Not as queen, mind you, but as King of the Goathouse! He has learned how to jump up there and is having a grand ole time while he is up on top of things.

Now Jeffrey is a funny little kid. He loves to be pet by the publicist but he has a little game he plays first.  He puts his head down first like he is going to butt her - as if he could really butt her. Heh heh.

Then he does the goat stomp! The goat stomp! At the publicist! Silly Jeffrey.

But I have to admit there is nothing quite so cute as a goat kid doing the goat stomp - what do you think?

And Jeffrey is a photogenic little guy, isn't he?

I think it won't be long before he gets himself up on the spools and then we will have some great kid battles.

Tomorrow:  Emily Dances

Who Rules the Pen - Blue Guy or Jeffrey?

Every morning when we all come down to our pen from the barn we are met by the chickens. Their chicken tractor is, of course, in our pen and the male person lets them out before we get there.  The chickens seem fascinated by the kids; probably because they are bigger than the kids.

Blue Guy is particularly interested in Jeffrey.

Jeffrey has been feeling his oats so when Blue Guy starts to check him out, Jeffrey tries to butt him! This happens EVERY morning.

Silly Jeffrey. He forgets that Blue Guy has spurs!

Blue Guy has been known to charge Jeffrey but he was on his good behavior this day. Probably because the publicist was in the pen taking photos. Blue Guy tried to spur the publicist but she then "charged" Blue Guy to let him know who was boss! Now Blue Guy gives her a wide berth.

You can see how excited Jeffrey is here - he is maaaaaing away at Blue Guy.

You can see that Blue Guy is getting ready to charge, but he doesn't.

Blue Guy eventually just walked away so I guess Jeffrey rules the pen!

I want to thank Nanny Goats In Panties for being my 100th follower. I am a proud goat to have reached that milestone after 9 months of blogging.

AbbyDay - I Can't Believe How Much Jeffrey Looks Likes My Nora!

Yay, it's another AbbyDay here on the blog. You know how much I like to talk about me, myself and I! But as much as I like to blog about me I am actually going to tell you how amazing I think it is that little Jeffrey is such a carbon copy of my Nora. It is probably because they had the same daddy, Michael.  Now, I miss my Nora now and again but I know that she is happy on her Farm with Sarah. It's just that Jeffrey has brought back some memories for me.

This is Nora right after she was born.

And this is Jeffrey.

Isn't it amazing?

So you can understand why I look at little Jeffrey sometimes and get a little misty. It doesn't last long because I am not one to dwell. There are weeds to be eaten and hay to be munched. I just thought you would enjoy seeing how similar they are.

Tomorrow: A new Farm cat

The Kids' Day

It is nice having kids around the Farm again. I must admit. Even thought they aren't mine they are my grandkids so I am enjoying them. Little Matthew is still very young and not doing much; in fact sometimes he is pretty hard to find!  Today we found him hiding behind the door panels for the goat house. He was taking a nap in the shade.

Jeffrey and Emily took their afternoon nap with their nanny under the chicken tractor.

It's a rough life for a little goat, isn't it?

It cooled down a little later in the day and Jeffrey and Emily got a little bit frisky with their mommy. They were climbing all over her - and she didn't seem to mind one bit!

Of course we nanny goats never mind what our kids get up too. You will remember that my Kevin tried to surf on me.

Emily and Jeffrey played like this for quite a while and then Emily started to fall....

 SPLAT!

Boy was she dusty after she got up.

Poor little goat. But it didn't seem to bother her any as you will see tomorrow.
When Emily and Jeffrey get stumped.

Mystery Solved!

Yes indeed. The mystery of what exactly Jillian was carrying has been revealed:

Aren't they just the cutest little kids? Well, I of course  think my Kevin is the cutest kid but these two are adorable.

They were born on September 11th at about 8PM MDT which the publicist and male person really appreciated. That way they weren't up too late waiting for kids.

This doe came first; her name is Emily.

Here is a close up of her little face all cleaned up. She is almost all black except for a white splotch on one side that leads to a ring of white all around her belly.

This buck came second; his name is Jeffrey.

He looks remarkably like Abby's daughter Nora. Michael was Nora's father too.

(This is Nora - you can see Jeffrey more clearly in the photo at the top of the post. The publicist is holding him. He has the same white splotch on his head.)

Jillian is proving to be a very good nanny. Don't they make a happy family?

Of course there will be lots of pictures in the coming days. And with Mallory due in the next couple of weeks we will be drowning in kids.

So there you have it; Jillian had TWINS - a doe and a buck. I will put all of the right guesses in the grain bucket and pick a winner. I will let you know who won tomorrow! Thanks for playing everyone.

Tomorrow - A winner is named and pictures of the new kids playing.
