Out, Out Damn Goat!

So you saw yesterday how reluctant Nora and I were to leave our nice, warm, snow free barn.

Did this stop the publicist?

NO!

She made us go out into all that snow.
Stupid publicist.

I mean that snow was up to our udders.
Do you know what it is like to have frozen udders?
I thought not!

I tried to reasonmaaaa with her but it was no use.
She said we had better get used to it.
It was winter!

So off we trekked.

The long....

cold walk...

To the doe pen.
Does anyone in Florida or Arizona or HAWAII want to adopt some nice, sweet goats?

Big Snow Week

This week I will share stories with you about our BIG SNOW.
I did not get to share them last week when it happened so you will get to hear all about it this week.
So put your sweaters on and get ready to be chilled!

The publicist woke up to this:

Brrrrrrrr.
The snow was everywhere.

Even on our water buckets.

But it was beautiful. If only to look at.
We goats are not too fond of snow.
As I keep saying, we are Nigerian dwarf goats.
Goats of the DESERT.
We like it warm.

The publicist came to get us out of the barn.
Nora was not so sure.

She peaked out.

She looked around

and she maaaaed to me, "no way! you look and tell me what YOU think."

And so I did!
AAAAAAACCCCCKKKK!

More tomorrow - AbbyDay is postponed due to snow!

Who Rules the Prime Basking Spot?

When the snows fell it was not nice in the doe pen.
There were not too many places were we could be that weren't covered with well, snow.
One of the few places available was my favorite basking spot by the goat house.

It's MY basking spot and the other goats should know this.

It did not stop them from trying to take it away from me.
Just look at them there trying to STEAL my spot.

I was having none of it.
I stood my ground.

Even when this happened.

Do you see that?
Can you believe it?
Nora put her head down to me!
To ME!

Harumph!
Well! I maaaaed her.

I didn't care what ANY of them thought. I was going to stay in my spot.
And so I did.

Farm Cat Friday - Blissed Out Harry the Farm Cat

It is time for Farm Cat Friday again - boy does time fly!
The Farm cats are very lucky! The publicist got them a ham-mick to try. It came from Forty Paws, a blog that is full of more cats than here! The ham-mick is made with super soft fleece and it came COVERED with 'nip.

This made the Farm cats VERY happy.
Especially Harry the Farm cat who was RIGHT THERE when the publicist opened the box.

He jumped right on it!
He was one happy cat.

That must have been some super-duper, extra powerful 'nip!
Just look at how blissed out Harry is.

He just loved his ham-mick.
He rolled this way

He rolled that way

He rolled this way AGAIN!

He rolled until he almost looked like a pretzel cat!

Whoa, what's that......?
Who cares? Just give me more 'nip!

After a little more cat yoga....
(Is that more 'nip on my paw?!)

He just plain passed out!
Silly Harry the Farm cat!

He slept all day!
He did not want to give up the ham-mick!

It was a battle royale later in the day. It was too dark for photos but ALL of the Farm cats eventually had a turn. They ALL love the ham-mick. The publicist thinks she will have to get more.  The male person just shook his head and said, "why me?" as he always does.

If you want to get ham-micks for your kitties you can go to Forty Paws. Here is some information about them:

We are selling 2 Ham-Micks for $30 plus priority shipping direct to your door! It has been discovered in multi-cat households that 1 Ham-Mick is never enough, and rather than you having to reorder, we are offering a huge savings for you when you order 2 Ham-Micks at once!!!

These even come with a money back guarantee! If at least one cat in your household does not use our Ham-Micks, you can ship them back to us and we will refund your purchase cost!!!

The Ham-Micks are made of anti-pill fleece (unless stated), and withstand many many washings and dryings in the hottest of water and the hottest of dryers! Ham-Micks are 18"x12"x4".

Just email us at fortypaws AT sbcglobal DOT net and we'll get your Ham-Mick packed and flying off to you via the bloo shorts person. We'll send you a Paypal invoice and you don't even need a Paypal account. Just plastic money.

There are lots of really pretty fabrics to choose from. Even pretty holiday fleeces. I wonder if they can make a ham-mick for a goat!?! Now THAT would be AWESOME! But I bet AbbyGoat would take it over and I would never get a chance to try it.

I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much.
Buuuurrrrpppp!

I also hope you consider shopping at my soap shop when you think of your holiday shopping!
Soap makes a great gift!
Everyone needs to wash - well except us goats. We take dust baths.

IF YOU USE THE PRICILLA AT CHECKOUT YOU CAN TAKE 10% OFF.

That is my gift to you!

Disclosure:  The publicist won this ham-mick but the Farm cats love it and she wanted to share it with everyone.

Post Redux: The Publicist Does Not Feel Well

The publicist did not feel well yesterday so we are postponing AbbyDay and I am rerunning one of my favorite posts. It has good meaning for this time of year.

The publicist will be feeling better soon.

This is not a normal Goatucation because yesterday my Aunt Nora got me thinking. She was looking for balance in her life and said so on her Facebook page. The publicist gave her a stupid answer but I am a wise goat and I ruminated a bit and I gave her my philosphy which is The Maaaaa of Pricilla. I thought I would share it with all of you.

Only work with people you like; butt the others out of your life.

Play like a kid; hop, leap and frolic.

Eat what you love; burp with abandon.

Bask in the sun; this is why we have the sun.

Love your herd; they have your back.

Harry the Farm Cat Gives a Gift (?!) to the Chickens

I warn you now!
Do not read further if you have a week stomach.
This is an icky, yucky post.

Harry the Farm cat has turned into a mighty hunter.
The publicist discovered that Harry was not sick he was depressed.
He wanted to go outside like the other Farm cats.
So in spite of her reservations and concerns she now lets him out.

He roams the Farm and he hunts!
He hunts pocket gophers and mice.
This makes the male person happy because there are too many rodents on the Farm.

EVERY day that Harry the Farm cat goes out he leaves a little gift (?!) for the chickens.
(The chickens being truly disgusting creatures)

Sweet little Harry the Farm cat

Leaves them a pocket gopher.
A dead pocket gopher.

He will leave it and one silly chicken will find it.

But then a crowd will form.
Maybe I should say a flock. Heh heh

The chickens will try and fight over the dead rodent.
But one will ultimately win and run off with it.

With the rest of the chickens in pursuit.

Crazy birds!
It looks like she is clucking, "wait for me."

But then they all had a party under the male person's truck.
I will NEVER understand chickens.

A Surprise for Buster Brown

As I mentioned on Thursday, when Buster Brown entered his pen in the snow he found a surprise!
What was it?

His very own goat house!
He and Luke the goat had been sharing a goat house but now he had one of his very own!

He was not sure at first.
Goats do not like changes.
We are strange that way.

He gave it a good sniff.

And a very thorough look/see.

But he still wasn't done.
He even checked out the top of his new house.

I think his biggest problem was that it was smaller than Luke's goat house!
Silly Buster Brown!

Luke the goat gave it a good check too.

As I said, we goats are not too fond of change and this was a new thing in his goat pen.

But he gave it the A-OK.
Especially if it meant he didn't have to fight Buster Brown for the other house any more.
