I have said it many times - I love when the garden starts to grow because that means we goats will end up getting some treats.
You saw how we got to eat some spinach.
Mmmm, spinach.
The other day we got to eat beet greans! You know how much we goats love our beet greans!
And to make it extra special the male person fed us himself!
Wasn't that nice of him?
He tried to make sure everyone got some yummy beet greans.
Starting with me of course!
Ooooh, they are tasty!
Abby seemed to be giving him some 'tude, don't you think?
I mean look at her face!
Maybe she was still mad at the twins leaving.
It was Sarah's first time eating beet greans so she wasn't too sure but she learned quickly.
Nora's too!
They both will have a lot to learn about the good stuff in the garden.
Won't that be fun?!
Tomorow you will see the rest of the beet grean eating orgy.
Thanks male person! We loved our treats!

AbbyDay - I Get to Say MY Goodbyes to My Boys
So they are gone.
I only had them with me for two months.
They were a pain and a joy all at once.
It is good they have a nice new Farm.
Oh, how I cried the day after they left.
The publicist was so nice to me.
I am better now.
But I will show you my favorite photos and then we will move on.
They were so cute when they were born, my Timmy and my Lew!
They turned into fine hoppers!
They loved to explore the Farm.
They loved spending time with me and I taught them well.
This is why I know they will be fine.
Goodbye my kids!
I love you.

Thursday Movies with the Happy Goats
Today I have a simple movie for you.
It just shows the twins grazing with their nanny.
The publicist didn't take it that long ago.
The male person talked to the twins new publicist today and she said they are doing just fine.
They are hopping all over the place and she said that they are "quite the escape artists."
heh
We know that!
It's good to know that they are doing well!
Tomorrow: AbbyDay. Abby will have her goodbyes for the twins and then we move on!

The Last Adventures of the Twins on the Farm
We are all sad that the twins have left but as I said they have gone to a very nice Farm. They did have some fun adventures in their last week here and I want to share them with you this week as a way of saying good bye to them. So here goes with the first adventure:
Daddy Won't Mind
Timmy and Lew decided one day that their daddy, Luke the goat would not mind if they went in and had a visit in his goat pen.
So they snuck in through one of the small holes in his fence.
The first thing they did when they were in there was to investigate his food bowl.
And what did they do then?
They ate their daddy's grain!
Oh my!
The next thing they did was go over and investigate their daddy's hay pile.
They were really having quite the munch.
Little Lew was asking Little Timmy if he thought this was a good idea when....
Luke the goat arrived on the scene!
It was at this point that the boys decided they should leave their daddy to his hay pile
and they skidaddled.
Smart kids!

Today I am a GiveawayGoat!
It was a happy/sad weekend on the Farm as Lew and Timmy went off to their new Farm.
I will have more to say on that later with this whole week devoted to photos and posts about the twins. It was sad to see them go but their new Farm is bigger than the Happy Goats Farm. There are children to play with them and they will have a horse for company. Their new publicist has worked in 4H for a long time so she knows how to care for animals. So don't be sad be happy for them!
To help make everyone feel better I am going to be a GiveawayGoat today. Since my retirement I have taken on many new hats and I have to say I like it! I will of course bring in my head shot since I am doing official business.
There, aren't I lovely? Do you think I need a new head shot or is this one good? Let me know, OK?
Now on to the giveaway. You might be surprised at this one but I am giving away coffee!
That is right!
You might also be surprised to learn that we goats like the occasional munch of a coffee bean.
We can't eat too many of them because too many beans of any type are not good for us.
But the publicist put some old coffee beans in the mulch and we goats were all over them.
Mmmm, and they perked us right up! heh
I'm going to tell you about Kahve Coffee and how one of you can win a 12oz bag of coffee beans. The publicist will be getting a bag too. The things I do for that woman - but I guess she's pretty good to me....
Kahve Coffee has only just started selling to the public. They used to just sell to restaurants so you know the coffee must be good. The publicist is going to pick the Espresso Noire because she likes REALLY strong coffee. She says it has something to do with getting up early to take care of cantankerous goats.
I wonder what goats she is talking about, because there are no cantankerous goats here.
So I'll bet you want to know how to win. Well, it's easy but first, a rule - US only.
MANDATORY ENTRY:
Go to Kahve Coffee and tell me what 12oz package (not the flavored blends as they are 5lb bags)you would pick if you won. Choose wisely because this is the one you will get if you win. Be sure to leave your email address so I can contact you if you win.
EXTRA ENTRIES: Leave a separate comment for each entry please.
1. Follow my blog. If you do just say so, and thank you
2. Subscribe by email or RSS feed
3. Use any of the share buttons below the post and share the giveaway
All entries need to be in by 9PM MDT on August 8th when I will go to Random.org to choose the winner - although this is past my bedtime so it might have to wait until the next morning. But I might be so excited the publicist will let me stay up later. He/she will have 48hrs to respond or I will pick a new winner.
Good luck everyone!
Disclosure: The publicist is going to get a bag of coffee even though I did all of the work. Maybe she will share a few beans with me. I hope so. Neither one of us received any money for this post. The publicist doesn't let me near money because I eat it.

Silly Sunday
Unless you are a great connoisseur like me.
You will never understand why...
I go to such great lengths...
To keep my dirt eating place secret. Sssssh! Don't tell the other goats.
Mmmmm, dirt.

Poor Luke
We does have been given several important jobs to do.
The male person knows we are up to the task.
He know we will get the work done!
But poor Luke the goat has not been given and jobs to do.
He just stays in his pen all day day long.
He sees us out doing our work and this is what he says to us.
Can you believe it?!
I don't think that is a very nice thing for him to be doing.
Do you?
How would you like it if you walked by the love of YOUR life and he presented you with this face?
Harumph!
I think Luke the goat needs an attitude adjustment.
I will be telling you about our jobs in the next few posts. We are helping the male person clean up the yard to keep it Fire Safe.
Plus, I will be a ReviewGoat again with a special giveaway for you!

AbbyDay - I am Not Impatient! I am Important!
Pffft!
The publicist claims I am an impatient goat.
I don't know where she comes off saying such things.
It is not true.
Not true at all!
Just because I am waiting for a nice drink of water like a good goat.
And I do this....
She thinks I am IMPATIENT.
She is wrong.
I am IMPORTANT.
I deserve the first taste of water and why should I have to wait until it gets put into our pen?
Would YOU wait?
I don't think so.

The Twins Have Discovered the Spools
Yes, it is true!
The twins have discovered all the fun that comes with playing on the spools.
It had to happen.
It was only a matter of time.
Don't they look like they are having fun?
They like to hop up there and butt at each other.
It's a good thing they are the same size!
I think if they played with a bigger goat someone would get hurt.
Little Timmy is sure dancing for joy!
I can't post much more right now we are having thunder!
I hate thunder and it's time for me to go to the barn.
The publicist is going to shut down the computer.
I will show you more photos later.

The Escape Artist
We have an Escape Artist here on the Farm!
You might think it is Luke the goat since he has been caught in the doe pen.
And that would be a good guess but you would be wrong.
The Escape Artist is.....
MARION THE GOAT!
Can you believe it?
Little Marion has found a secret way out of the doe pen!
The publicist will hear her MAAAAAAAAING to beat the band and she will come out and find her in the compost pile.
She misses her nanny.
But it does not keep her from munching on some tasty bits while she is in the compost pile.
Or from giving the publicist the goat stare of death when the publicist tries to help her back into to doe pen.
Silly Marion!

A visitor that wanted to SHARE his dinner.
He went to give it a good sniff.
But the male person did NOT want to share.

My Friend Julia Has Written a Book!
I cannot believe that I know a famous author!
I cannot believe that a famous author came and visited me and pet me on the head!
Me!
I mean, I know I am a famous SpokesGoat and all but being a famous author is something else all together.
You remember when I wrote about Julia and her family coming to visit - Julia writes the blog, Our Simple Life. Julia has now gone way beyond just writing a blog - that is right! Julia has written a book. It's all about her cat Bingo and his adventures on her Farm.
It has been written for children 3 - 8 but the publicist loves the book and I know she is lots older than 8.
Lots.
I am not allowed to read it because any time I get near a book I take a little nibble and then a little nibble becomes a big nibble and before you know it I have eaten the whole book.
The publicist does not like this for some reason.
Burp.
It's called Bingo's Big Adventure. I have had a picture of it up on my blog for a while but the publicist has written a review of Julia's book and she is GIVING AWAY A COPY of it on her blog.
That Bingo loves to go out and run around and chase the chickens and the roosters on Julia's Farm. He also likes to climb trees! Look at this!
Julia took all of the pictures in the book herself. This makes me think she is a famous photographer too.
Hmmm, I wonder if she would come and do my headshot. I could use a new one.
She is probably too busy now though with book tours and autographs and stuff.
I hope she doesn't forget us little goats since she is all famous now.
If you want to buy Bingo's Big Adventure you can go to Bingo's Blog and find it in hardback or paperback. Or you can go to Amazon.com and find it HERE
Bingo also has his own Facebook page.
I wonder why I don't have a Facebook page! I am going to have to talk to the publicist about that.
So listen to this SpokesGoat and check it all out and be sure to enter the giveaway and maybe you will go on the adventures with Bingo!

AbbyDay - I am the Queen of the Spinach
I am sure you were all mildly amused by Pricilla's silly song on Monday about our spinach treat.
Pffft!
I take my spinach eating very seriously.
After all, the male person works hard in his garden so I think the least we can do is eat every last bit of treat we get.
I showed my two boys the best way to dig in and find the tastiest morsels. Little Marion looked on as well.
Mmmm, I am, of course and expert eater. You can tell by my shiny coat.
I really know how to enjoy a special treat when it is given to me. Even if my kid tries to steal it from me!
Thanks, male person! We enjoyed the fruits, erm vegetables of your gardening.
Oh, and erm, publicist. Thanks to you too.

Silly Lew! He Thinks He's a Big Boy
I haven't shown you a movie for a while so I thought it was time.
This movie will show you what I have to put up with around this Farm!
Little Lew seems to forget he is just a kid.
He seems to forget he has been, erm fixed.
He has been making advances!
That is right!
He is flirting with me.
WITH ME!
My studmuffin isn't happy. You can hear him in the background.
Can you believe this silly kid?
I cannot.
You can tell by the look on my face.
I tried to let him down easy but he just look shocked.
Silly Lew!
I want to remind you that today is THE LAST DAY to enter the giveaway that the publicist is having on her blog for the giveaway for the $60.00 Gift Card to CSNStores.com
You will recall that I did a review for CSNStores.com and I think I did a wonderful job. I am their only ReviewGoat and I am quite proud of that fact!
So head on over and ENTER. You might just win!

Marion is Starting to Go Off on Her Own
Aaaah, poor Mallory.
Little Marion is starting to show her independence!
While she still needs her nanny for some milk, she is starting to get more and more of her food from eating hay and weeds like the big goats.
She has started grazing on her own.
It's something we mamma goats need to deal with as our kids get bigger.
It's hard.
You want to keep them small forever.
But that doesn't work.
They want to go out and stretch their goat legs.
They want to leap and hop and explore.
So we let go, but we teach them everything we can.
Like how to find the tastiest bit of grass.
Mallory has done this with Marion and she is ready to go and graze by herself.
But she still comes back to her nanny.
Just as the twins come back to Abby.
Because there is still so much to learn.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.....
It's the most wonderful time of the year
with the kids spinach eating
And everyone telling you there soon will be ears (of corn)
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
It's the hap-happiest season of all
with the garden a growing
and from the male person hoeing
We get the leftovers through Fall
It's the hap-happiest season of all
They'll be spinach for studmuffins
He loves even the toughest ones
You can see from the look on his face
They'll be leaves specially delivered
to SpokesGoats who will have shivered
from delight. She won't leave a trace
It's the most wonderful time of the year
Nannys will show kids the joys of eating
The treats that publicist brings
She is so nice to us goat we are bleating
"We love you whether you are far or near"
It's the most wonderful time of the year!*
I guess it's no secret but we goats LOVE when the garden starts to come in. We get extra special treats like SPINACH! Mmm, spinach is mighty tasty - even if little Marion hasn't figured that out yet.
Neither did Sarah or Nora but I'll bet they will learn before the summer is out!
*you can find the real lyrics to the song, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year HERE
And Abby, will of course share her side of the Spinach story on AbbyDay 'cause she doesn't think I can do it well enough.
Harumph!
