Who is the New King of the Hay Pile?

I know I keep talking about the hay pile.
I can't help myself....
It's all that hay!

Even though we have all the yummy grass and weeds to eat there is just something about

HAY

The kids especially love to play in the hay pile.

Little Timmy was there yesterday and he climbed.

And climbed

And climbed some more until he got himself

All the way to THE TOP of the hay pile!

Can you believe your eyes?!

The publicist was not happy and she yelled at him to get down before he hurt himself.

He just looked at her.

Then she ran over there to get him and he started to hop down.

He saw that she was using the "publicist stare of death" so he took a flying leap...

....and got all the way down.

It is a shame the publicist didn't get a photo of either her stare of death or his flying leap.

Either one would have been entertaining.

A Horny Situation

Little Timmy and little Lew are growing up big and strong like little wethers will.
They go out every day and eat the yummy weeds and grasses that are growing around the Farm.

As they grow, so do their little horns.
You can see the start of them in this photo of little Lew.

But they are not so visible on little Timmy's head in this picture.

There are two reasons for that and that is our horny situation!
Lew's horns are a bit bigger than Timmy's - you can see how big they are here...

And Timmy's? Well, he has horns of different colors.
What?! You ask?
That's right!

Timmy has one black horn and one white horn!
One horn is growing up through a black spot and it is black and one is growing up through his white hair and it is white!
The publicist and male person have never seen this before and think it is funny.
They are very curious to see if it will last as he grows older.

It will be very funny if he is a big goat with one black horn and one white horn.
Don't you think?

I want to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!
I am going to take a day off from blogging tomorrow so I can have a little play time

More Fun in the Wood Pile

You will recall that the male person bought us a pile of wood of play in.
Well, he piled that wood up!
I don't know why he did that. Silly male person.
It makes it harder for us to eat it.

It didn't stop Matthew and Timmy though....

The Twins Discover the Wood Pile

The twins have been going out and about more and more as they grow bigger.
It was inevitable that they would discover the wood pile!
You know how much we all love the wood pile.
It's full of logs to leap on and bark to munch.
One of my favorite places.

So I give you a Happy Goats Movie of Timmy and Lew hopping, leaping and yes going splat on the wood pile.




I hope you enjoyed the movie.
I know I did. It is always fun to watch the new kids play.

There is also a new animal on the Farm.
The publicist has a new kitten in spite of swearing to never have a kitten again!

RUN!!!!!!

As I mentioned yesterday my little grandkids LOVE to run.
It is a good thing because they need to strengthen their little goat legs.

Of course, when they are not running they are hopping but that is a tale for another day.

From the minute they come out of the barn they are in motion.
They especially love when we go out for our graze because they can run up and down the driveway.

They run down....

They run up.......

They run down again......

and up again.....

They run, run, run!

It is exhausting just to look at them.

But aren't they cute?
I know I keep saying that but I can't help myself.

My Time with My Grandkids

In spite of what some might think I like to play with my grandkids.
They come up to me all the time and we sit and maaaaa and I tell them the important things they need to know to grow up to be strong and smart.

The other day we were heading out for a graze and the twins were play butting with me.

Then little Lew took off running!

Isn't he fast?

Little Timmy stayed and played a bit longer.

But then he took off running!

Boy those kids like to run!

They are silly and think that they can chase me. ME!

They can be frustrating!

But I love them!

They are my grandkids!

Tomorrow:  RUN!!!!

Prince of the Milking Stand

When the twins first started exploring their world one of the first things they saw was the milking stand.
It must have looked HUGE to them.

Of course they just had to climb it!
What self respecting little goat could resist climbing well, anything?

Little Timmy was the first one to explore the milking stand.

But little Lew was not too far behind.

They had so much fun going up and down and up and down again.

But then Timmy decided he should be Prince of the milking stand and he started a duel!
He butt his little brother off of the stand!

Can you imagine such a thing?
So you see this behavior starts very, very early with us goats!

After the big duel they settled down to be....

....sleeping cuties.

The Twins Go for a Graze

I know it is hard to believe but the twins went out for a graze!
That is correct - you eyes are not deceiving you.
Abby took little Timmy and little Lew out and showed them the yummy green grass.

They just have so much fun exploring the big world around them.
Everything is new! 
And sometimes scary!

Abby is a good nanny she shows them the tastiest bits to munch.

She watches over them to make sure they don't eat anything they shouldn't.

Look how little Timmy checks out this weed.

I am jealous.
I think I would like to chomp on it!

Kiducation - Learning to Interact with Other Species

Before I start today's Kiducation post I want to wish all of you humans out there a very

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

I hope you all have a lovely day.

As you know we have other animals here on the Farm.

There are the chickens.

Then there are the Farm cats.

Little Timmy and little Lew had a big day when they came out of the barn for the first time.

While wandering around Timmy discovered a very strange creature lying on the ground.

He went over to investigate.

He gave it a good looksee

I think he decided he didn't like what he saw!

Maaaaaaaamaaa!

Oh well. Maybe the next time they meet Timmy will be bigger than Stinky and feel a little safer.

Stinky didn't even get up off the ground!

Kids have so much to learn.

It's good we older goats are here to teach them.

Timmy Explores the Goat Pen

The rain continued today but it wasn't as bad; more like a light drizzle.
The publicist let us out of our pens in the barn and erm, convinced us it might be a good idea to go down to the outside goat pens.

We took some convincing but we finally went outside.

The publicist felt badly for poor Abby being stuck in the barn with the kids so later in the afternoon when the rain stopped completely for a while (ten minutes to be exact) she brought the twins down to meet the herd.

This did not go well.
There is no photographic evidence as the publicist was too busy trying to keep Matthew and Mallory from killing the twins.
Sarah and Norah just ran away.

Then she put all of us big goats out for a graze while yelling some words I cannot use on a family blog at Matthew and Mallory.

The twins are fine.
In fact little Timmy is quite the intrepid explorer.
And I think he is going to be a hopper like his Uncle Kevin.

Even though he is only 3 days old here just watch his form!

He checks his "hurdle."

He runs 

He hops!

Uh-oh!
SPLAT!

His little goat legs still have some strengthening to do.
Silly Timmy!
But he will learn.

Lew and Timmy are sick and tired of being stuck in the barn with the big goats all day!

Do I sound like a peeved goat?

Meet the Twins!

As you can imagine it was an exciting day around here yesterday.
I think those of us waiting had more fun than Abby but that is the way of kids.
So without further ado, I present to you my grandkids, Timmy and Lew!

As you can see Timmy looks rather like Luke.

And Lew looks like Abby.

Isn't that funny?
They are very cute and very small. One tends to forget just how small little goatlings are.
It's nice to have twins on the Farm. It will be fun to watch them playing together.

They came out of the barn for a little while today.

I think they liked exploring. I am sure the world looks mighty big to them!

I am not sure, but Timmy might have blue eyes. That would be interesting.

Even if they are not blue, he is a cutie pie!

Lew has just the lightest sprinkling of fairy dust on his ears.

I am not the least bit prejudiced about my grandkids.
Oh, no!

Abby is a good nanny. When the rooster crowed she went right to attention to make sure nothing hurt her kids!

Then little Lew settled in for a drink of nice, rich milk.

There will be lots of photos over the next few days.

And a bit of video tomorrow.
These kids are destined to be STARS!
