AbbyDay - I am In Charge

It's AbbyDay the best day of the week. EVERYday should be AbbyDay if you ask me.
I am a little bit peeved at the publicist. She messed up my schedule so I have taken over Wordless Wednesday
AND
She gave PRICILLA a special ear of corn!
Pffffft!

She should have given it to ME!
I am in charge around here.
Me, AbbyGoat! No other goat.

When she came out to maaaa at us I gave her the cold shoulder.

That will teach her.
I had lessons to teach Sarah the goat.
Who needs the publicist any way?

Sarah the goat was thinking SHE was in charge.
Ha!

She gave me the goat stomp.
ME!
Stupid Sarah.

I gave her a good head butt.
You think that would have showed her.

But NO!
Another goat stomp!
Is she crazy?!

She must be.
She really needs to be taught a lesson.
It's a good way to show my girls how to be toughgoats too!

That Sarah!
ANOTHER goat stomp!
You see that Nora the goat knows better. She just stands there.

I finally gave her a nip to her tail and a butt and she got the message.
She went into the other pen. Lesson learned for the day. Hopefully for longer.

Watch out publicist!
You are next.
Unless I get some of that corn!

Is That For ME?!

REALLY?!
For ME?!

I must be a special goat.

The publicist loves me so much to give me very own baby ear of corn!
She did not give one to the other goats.
Just to ME!

It was so good!
The first corn of the season is always very sweet.

Don't you agree?
I took my time and savored my treat.

Mmmmmmm.
What bliss.

It does not get any better than this.
Unless you have another little ear of corn for me.
Do you?
I give you a big corn smile!

You don't.
Oh well, I thank you very much for this one.
It was DELICIOUS!
Buuuuuurp!

It's My Favorite Time of Year!

Oooooh! Am I a Happy Goat!
Do you want to know why?
Of course you do!

The garden is growing and growing and growing and growing some more.
And when that happens the male person picks all the produce and we goats get treats.
Lots and lots of treats.

Like this

Don't I LOOK happy?
I am in a treat eating stupor.

Mmmmmmm, treats.
I heard a rumor.
A really good rumor.

It involved CORN!
I might just be getting some corn husks soon.
This goat CANNOT wait.

Are you jealous?

Silly Sunday - The Zucchini are Taking Over the Farm!

The publicist has been muttering and mumbling a lot lately.
It seems the male person planted three mounds of zucchini
THREE!

This is a LOT of zucchini and she says they are taking over the yurt.
You should see her blog too. I think she might be right!
One of them tried to take over Sherpa the Farm cat's ScratchKabin!

He was just sleeping away as he does every afternoon and THERE IT WAS!

A zucchini!
What is up with this?

What is a cat to do?
He did not want to give up his ScratchKabin to a ZUCCHINI! Zucchini do not need to scratch!

So he did what any self respecting Farm cat would do - he attacked that zucchini!

And he vanquished it!
Go Sherpa!

Eagle Wars!

As I have mentioned before on my blog I see a lot of the bald eagle that likes to sit in the tree in my yard. He likes to fish in my river. I am just glad he does not want to eat ME!

WELL! The other night the publicist and the male person were about to sit down to dinner and they looked out the windows and they saw something AMAZING!
They saw two adult bald eagles and two young bald eagles!

It's true!
They were all fighting over a big fish that one bald eagle had caught.
Ick! Fish! I am a vegetarian goat.

The adult bald eagle was enjoying his fish

When the two young 'uns decided to try and take it from him (or her - they could not tell from a distance. That is why the photos are a bit fuzzy. They were taken with a telephoto lens through a window. The eagles were across the river.)

Those two young birds were determined to have fish dinner!
But as you can see they just kept fighting with each other.

Silly bald eagles!

Finally the mature bald eagle chased the juveniles away and got to finish his dinner.
But when he was done....

Those youngsters went back to see if he left anything.

The second adult bald eagle basically kept flying around screeing. There are no photos of him/her but it was truly a sight to see 4 bald eagles at once!

Farm Cat Friday - Stinky Sleeps in Peace

Stinky the Farm cat is getting old.
She tends to sleep.
A lot.

She sleeps in some very funny positions.

See?
I am pretty sure I could not sleep this way.
Goats are not as flexible as cats.

She does look peaceful, though.
For a catortionist!

#My7Links - A Graze Down Maaamory Lane Thanks to Sparkle the Cat

Sparkle the Cat, a very special cat indeed, has nominated me - ME not Abby - for a very special project. It is called My 7 Links and it was created by Tripbase Blog. I don't usually do things like this but in order to participate you need to look through your old blog posts and I thought this would be fun for me and for the publicist. These are the rules:

I need to post the links to:

- Your most beautiful post
– Your most popular post
– Your most controversial post
– Your most helpful post
– A post whose success surprised you
– A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved
– The post that you are most proud of

So you see why this would be fun for me.  So here goes:

My Most Beautiful Post

When Harry Met Stinky

I always thought this was a very special story about two species getting along together.

My Most Popular Post
My Most Controversial Post
Goatucation:  A Sad Lesson Today

These happen to be the same. It was the post when I told you all that I had lost my kid. There were a lot of lovely comments from all of my readers and some discussion as to what might have caused it. (I did not count any of my giveaways in this as that would be unfair.)

My second most popular post was:
Meet the Twins

When little Lew and Timmy joined the Farm

My Most Helpful Post
I think any of my Goatucation posts would fit this bill but I pick Goatucation: What Goat's Shouldn't Eat

I had lost a goat friend to bloat the week before and I thought it was important to post about bad things for goats to eat.

My Post That Didn't Get the Attention it Deserved
AbbyDay - Important Information for Everyone who Loves Pets

OK, this one was written by Abby but it is full of very important information and it introduces Sherpa the Farm kitten. Everyone here at the Happy Goats Farm feels that animals deserve a safe and loving home.

A Post Whose Success Surprised Me
That Luke!

I don't get millions of comments like some blogs but I love every single one that I do get! So when a post gets 20 comments I rejoice and do my goat dance of joy! Now I adore my studmuffin but the fact that my readers do to just makes me very, very happy.

The Post I am Most Proud Of
What is the Maaaaa of Pricilla

I wrote this in answer to the publicist's friend, Aunt Nora. I think it is full of very good information. In fact I keep a separate tab for it on the top of my blog.

I thank Sparkle for setting me on this task. It took some time but it was fun to look back over all of my blog posts. From my very first post in January of '09 to this, my 980th post (granted Abby has written a few) I have been a very busy goat. I suppose I will have to have a celebration for the 1,000th post. That will be fun, won't it?

Now I am to nominate 5 other bloggers to experience this same fun:

Daisy the Curly Cat - because Daisy never fails to make me laugh with her wicked sense of humor. I came to Daisy's blog several years after it started so I know there is a lot to mine there.

Duck and Wheel with String - 'cause I know it will drive her crazy. Not to mention that she is an excellent writer full of maaaavelous insights.

A Goat's View of Eden Hills - because Millie is a kindred spirit. An old goat living with a bunch of teenagers who drive her crazy. She also has the most beautiful horns. I covet her horns.

In a Goat's Shoes - because these young goats love a challenge

Whomever else would like to go for it!

I am a cop-out goat!

I hope you enjoy looking through my old posts. I sure did. Be sure to visit Sparkle's list too. She had some very important things to say.....

AbbyDay - I Can Share. I CAN!

It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week.
I want to squelch these rumors that I don't share.
It's just not true!
I CAN share.

When I WANT to.

Take the broccoli stalks. I shared mine with Thelma.
See?

I am a good nanny.
I let her have a teeny, tiny bit of the spool to try and get a bit of broccoli.

She got to eat a piece or two.

Just because I nudged her she might have lost her balance and fallen after this photo was taken does not mean that I cannot share!

I don't understand somegoats around this Farm who say I can't share!
Pffffft!

All Out Thievery!

It's true!
There are thieves here at the Happy Goats Farm.
Can you believe it?

I know you are thinking who would steal from happy goats?
That would make us UNhappy goats!
And the UNhappy Goats Farm just does not sound like a good place to live.

I would not want to live there.
Would you?
I would think not!

So I think it is time that the publicist and male person do something about the thieves that eat our goat treat!
It is just wrong, wrong, wrong and we goats are not going to take it any more.

I mean, just look at this!

Would YOU put up with a CHICKEN eating YOUR treat?!
Just who do those chickens think they are?
Harumph!

Those treats are for us goats!
You never see us goats eating the chicken's food

Erm.

Broccoli Face-Off: Happy Goats Farm

Yesterday you saw Nora the goat guarding a pile of broccoli stems.
Did she get to eat them all by herself?

What do you think?
Of course not!

We goats are piggie goats when it comes to goat treats.
But who shared Nora's pile o'broccoli?

ME!
I saw that pile and knew I had to have some.

We had quite the face-off!
I maaaaed at her to leave. That it was now MY pile.

But she did not listen.
I suppose I should be a good goat and share but that is not in a goat's nature.
Just ask Abbygoat!

But I did.

We both shared the pile of broccoli ends.
It was good.
There was enough to go around.

BUUUURRRRRRRRPPPP!

Farm Treat! Broccoli

Ooooh, we are very lucky goats.
Very lucky!
The male person harvested some broccoli and guess what?!
We got some broccoli stems and leaves as a goat treat!

YUM!

It was Sarah's first time trying broccoli stems.

She was not sure so she gave them a sniff.
Then she hopped up on the spool.

There she gave them the A-OK!
She looks like she might fall off at any minute!

Be careful Sarah!
No broccoli stem is worth falling off a spool!

Louise enjoyed her first taste of broccoli too.

These kids are very lucky to live on the Happy Goats Farm!
They get all kinds of spiffy treats from the male person's garden.

Louise really got up close and personal with her broccoli before she gobbled it up!

The publicist put little piles everywhere so we wouldn't erm, argue with one another.
Here Nora is guarding a pile.

Did she get to eat it all?
You will have to come back tomorrow to find out!
