Post Redux - Intermew with Stinky the Farm Cat

The publicist is not feeling well so we are digging into the archives today to bring you an older post. Enjoy!

In the continuing series of interviews with the animals on the Happy Goats Farm I would like to introduce you to Stinky the Cat. She is one of four cats that live here on the Farm. I am not much of a cat goat but the publicist just loves cats like crazy. Our male person says she is a cat magnet. I am not sure he is happy about this. But anyway, meet Stinky!

Stinky, how did you come to live with our publicist?

Don't get to close to me Pricilla, I don't want you to butt me. You always butt me.

Now Stinky, I am acting as a spokesgoat here and I am on my best behavior. Would you please just answer my questions?

All right
as long as you promise not to butt me. I was just a little kitty living in a campground in New Jersey. My old owner had abandoned me. I don't know why; I am a very nice kitty. When our publicist found me my collar was so tight I could hardly breathe. I was so happy when she cut it off of me. It was a very cold night and there was snow everywhere. I was thrilled when I got to go into the warm trailer and eat good food.

Stinky is a rather, hmmmm, odoriferous name. Why are you called Stinky?

My original name was Threesa as in Three's a crowd because I was the third cat in the family but I am rather embarrassed to admit that at first -solely due to my bad diet while living in the wild -it was rather noticeable every time I used the litter box. This caused my name to be changed. I was not happy but I don't have control over these things. Now that I am eating regularly and eating really good food you never know when I have been in the box.

What do you do on the Farm?

I loung
e around. I eat a lot. I chase mice. I try and avoid Mr. Eagle; I don't want to get taken for a ride like Fred. I sit in the publicist's lap and give her cat hugs.

How do you feel about me and the other goats on the Farm?

Well, given that if I get too close to you I end up flying through the air I really don't think you want me to answer that question. The first time I met you I just wanted to sniff your nose and the next thing I knew I was airborne. Was this a nice thing to do to a small kitty cat?

I think we will end the intermew now. I hope you enjoyed meeting Stinky the Farm Cat and learning more about her.

Stinky wanted you to see her "fierce face" so I have included a picture of it for you. She used this face to scare the mice. Does it scare you?

Interview with Nora the Goat

Since I interviewed my kid Sarah it is only fair that I also interview Nora the goat too. She is my grandkid after all.

So Nora, are you happy to be back on the Farm?

Yes I am. I was happy to see my nanny again. I was only a very little kid when I left the Farm. I was born here just like Sarah. Michael the goat was my daddygoat.

You were a very cute kid. Now that you are older you look a lot like your nanny. What do you think of that?

I think it's pretty cool. I know that publicist lady has trouble telling us apart at a distance. But my fur is a bit thicker and I do have more white spots than my nanny.

Do you know how you got your name?

Yes! I was named for the publicist lady's best friend. She said that she didn't have any children so the least she could do was name a goat after her.  I don't know if her friend was happy or not. But I am a pretty goat so she should be a proud goat aunt.

Did you like it at your old Farm?

Oh, it was so very nice! The people treated us like queengoats! We had lots of room to roam and so much yummy green grass to eat. In the winter there was tasty hay. I was sad to leave them because they gave me pats on the head and a good home but if I had to go anywhere coming back home was the best place for me!

Were you happy to see your nanny again?

I was, but it took me a little while to recognize her. It has been two years you know! It was a little confusing meeting everyone all at once. But I did like meeting Luke the goat - he's cute.

Ah-hem! Luke the goat is MY studmuffin! When did you meet Luke?!

That publicist lady took me over to meet him but I was still too nervous and our samba didn't go too well.

HARUMPH! I think I will end this interview now.
I may go and have a word or two with Luke.

I hope you enjoyed learning about Nora the goat.
I think I learned a bit too much!

Interview with Sarah the Goat

Since we have two new goats on the Farm I thought they deseved an interview just like all the other animals have had so even though Sarah the goat is my kid I'm going to ask her some questions for you.

So Sarah, you were born here on the Farm weren't you?

That's right Maaaaa. I was your first kid here on the Farm with my twin Michael the goat. I had lots of fun playing with him and with my sister Abby the goat.

You were a very cute kid, if I do say so. But I guess I am prejudiced as I am your nanny.

That's OK. All nannies feel that way about their kids.

Some people think that Luke the goat is your daddy but that's not true. Who's your daddy?

My daddy is Titus the goat from your old Farm. Sadly, I have never met him. From what you have told me he was a very nice buck.  He is also Abby's daddy.

I understand that you are somewhat of a famous goat coat model. What do you think of this?

I think I made a great goat coat model. I was born when it was a bit chilly and I was shivering and the publicist felt bad for me so she ordered me that coat. I really liked it.
The publicist is so nice.

Why did you leave the Farm?

Friends of the male person and publicist wanted to have goats so the only ones who could leave at the time were me and Nora the goat so we went to live together on our new Farm. It was very nice.  Our new owners treated us very well.

Are you glad to be back?

I am very happy to be back. I like having a bigger herd to play in. I am very glad to see you again too nanny!

Why are you back?

Well, the people who owned the Farm where Nora and I lived wanted to travel so they asked the male person and the publicist if they wanted us to come back to the Farm. I am very happy they said yes.

I hope you all liked this interview with Sarah the goat. I will have an interview with Nora the goat next week so you can learn more about her.

Interview with Abby the Goat - The Publicist Made Me!

As you know I have been interviewing all of the animals here on the Happy Goats Farm. You might have noticed that I talk about Abby a lot but have not interviewed her yet. Well, if it were up to me I would not interview her but the publicist is making me. She says that everyone should meet Abby formally and get to know her. As if I care.....I know, I know. I should be a gracious spokesgoat, but some tasks just push me too far. But here goes:

Abby how did you come to live on the Happy Goats Farm?
Duh, I came with you. You're my mother for heaven's sake. We came together as a package. Why do you think I devil you so much? That's what daughters do.

What purpose do you serve here on the farm? It seems to me all you do is butt me and eat all day.
Now that is just not fair. I am pregnant too. I am having a kid. I give milk. It's not just you, you, you. You make it sound like I am a total mooch around here. OK, I might have issues with sharing but that is my goat nature.

I think it is because you have horns and I don't. You think you can get the upper horn!
Well I think you are just jealous of my horns. So there!

Well, why do you have to butt me all of the time and steal the food and not let me have any?
Well the early goat gets the grain, isn't that the way it works?

At this point the publicist had to break up what I consider a very unlady like and very unprofessional altercation between me and Abby. I should not let her get to me like this but I do. I am very sorry to my readers for this embarrassment. I hope you all forgive me.

Intermew with Pumpkin the Cat

After all the excitement of the Tale of the Extra Goat Treat I thought it would be good to do an interview (heh heh interMEW) with Pumpkin the cat. Pumpkin is the newest feline on the Happy Goats Farm. He doesn't come out much so it was a little hard to conduct this intermew but being an intrepid reporter goat I got the job done!

Pumpkin, how did you come to live on the Happy Goats Farm?

I was lost and wandering around and found a plate under this living space. It smelled like food. Then this nice lady came out and put yummy Super Supper on it. I ate it so fast I scared the nice lady. She seemed so worried about me she brought out another can of food. I was still scared then too so I ran away from her. I didn't know yet how nice it would be to live on the Farm. I kept coming back and I finally let the nice lady pet me. Then one day I ran into the trailer and wouldn't leave. She gave me medicine to get rid of my icky worms. There was always good food to eat and I had a lap to sit on any time I wanted. I hadn't been that happy in a long time.

It must have been terrible to not have a family.

Oh, it was. I was so very scared. I don't know why I was out in the cold and snow all alone. I just know I am happy now. I have two cat friends, Fred and Stinky and the publicist and the male person are soooooooo wonderful. They gave me some catnip the other night and ooooh, man.

Ok, Ok, enough about the nip. This is a family blog.

What do you do on the Farm?

Mostly I sleep all day. I don't like to go outside because it reminds me of when I was so hungry and didn't have a home. So I stay in and nap and play with my toys.

So you are a mooch?

NO! How can you say that?! I make the publicist very happy. I keep her warm when I sit in her lap. I make the male person laugh when I chase my tail. I do lots of good things around here. Humph.

I am sorry Pumpkin, you are obviously a nice cat. Thank you for doing this interview. It is good to keep the publicist happy. That way you get treats - have you learned that trick yet?

Oh, yes. I have! But don't tell the publicist or she might catch on and stop giving them to me.

Once the topic of treats came up Pumpkin lost all interest in the interview and started licking his chops. There is only so much attention span with a cat, you know. I hope you enjoyed meeting another member of the Happy Goats family.

Happy Goats Farm Interview - Luke the Goat

I continue today with the interviews with my fellow animals on the Happy Goats Farm. Today I am introducing you to Luke the goat. He is the only goat on the farm to whom I did not give birth! So here we go:

So, Luke how did you come to be at the Happy Goats Farm?
When I was just a little buckling at the Glory Bea Farm in Washington State one day a man came in a truck and put me in a carrier. Then I went for a long, long, long, long, long ride. It was windy and noisy and I was scared. But then when it ended I found myself at the Happy Goats Farm. I will admit that I was still scared when I arrived. It was so new and different. I missed my brother. I missed my mother. But then...then...I saw YOU! It was love at first sight.

Now Luke, keep to the interview....

What do you do here at the farm?
I eat a lot of hay and grain. I love my goat treat at night but only if it is apples or pears. I don't like carrots. I like to play with Michael the goat. And well, this is a family blog so I won't go into my other, uh, duties. I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.

LUKE!

What do you like best about the Happy Goats Farm?
You! Want to go out later tonight?

Ugh, I can see I am not going to get anywhere with this interview either. The bucks on this farm are just too difficult to have a civil conversation with.
I hope you enjoyed this little peak into Luke the goat's little mind.

Interview with Michael The Goat

I, of course, am the most well known of the goats on the Happy Goats Farm but I feel it is important for all of you to get to know the other goats here. (Actually my publicist is making me do this - she feels it will be good press.) I am choosing to start with Michael because he is my son and I think the nicest goat on the place beside me of course. He can have a bit of a one track mind, so please bear with him....

How did you come to live on the Happy Goats Farm?
Mom, uh, you kidded me. Duh!

What is your purpose on the Farm?
I eat lots of hay...gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe!
I run around and chase Luke...gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe!
And I protect the publicist...she's fun!

If you ran the Farm what changes would you make?
Well, for one thing I wouldn't be in a pen all by myself! I would be in with the does, of course!
Gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe,gotta get a doe!
I think I would feed myself more grain too.

It seems you only think about yourself, do you ever think about the other goats on the Farm?
I do think about Luke - I really didn't think we needed to add him into the family. And I don't understand how you can say that when I am thinking of you girl goats all the time! Gotta getta doe, gotta get a doe, gotta get a doe.

Well, Michael I can see this interview is going to devolve from here so I think I will end it. Do you have any last comments?
Gotta get a doe!

I did warn you that he had a one track mind people! But he is a good looking goat if a mother can say so. I will continue the interviews as time goes on. Hopefully Luke will be a little less focused on ..... what am I saying. He's a buck too!
