Those Boys!

I remember the days when bucks would fight over me.
It was exciting.
It was flattering.

Now I'm an old goat and no one is fighting over me any more.
But that's OK.
I've had my day.
Now it's time for the new does.

But I am not sure those boys over there in that other pen quite understand things.
They have really going at each other.

The goat stomps!

The horn locking!

The head butting!

The DRAMA!
All for what?

BERNADETTE THE GOAT!

And guess what?
Just guess!

She could care less!
All she did while those boys were trying to impress her was a bit of goat yoga.

Silly, silly, silly boys.
And it's not like it's going to get you anywhere if she cared.....
YOU'RE WETHERS!

Silly boys.

ps:  the publicist let us out for the first graze of the season! She even shared a snack with us. You can read about it on her blog HERE. She would appreciate any comments or shares of that post.

Boys Will Be Boys - The Movie

You will recall that Rudy the goat was craving attention.
He was doing everything he could to be noticed.
Silly Rudy.
He even started butting heads with Keith the goat to try and impress little Bernadette.

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

I don't think she was impressed.
I think she thinks those boys are pretty silly.
Their tails were going 100 miles an hour though....

I wonder if it's any more difficult in the snow?

Rudy Maaaaas, "Look at Me, Me, Me, MEEEEEEEEE!"

Rudy the goat has moved into the pen with those other "young-uns."
Which is just fine by me.
I simply cannot keep up with them any longer.
I like my peace.
I like my quiet.

It's just me and AbbyGoat in the one pen.
At least until the Spring kids come along.
WE are at peace.

But somegoat is not.
Little Rudy the goat does not like being in with all of those other goats.
He maaas that he does not feel special in that pen.
He maaas that he does not stand out.

We keep maaaing back that he is the only black goat in a sea of cowgoats but it is not enough for our little whiner. He wants attention all the time and he'll try anything to get it.

He tries to fit his head where it will not fit.
Even the rooster thinks he is being silly.

He tries giving the publicist dirty looks.
But he is a bit too cute to pull off the "Goat Stare of Death."

We do not know what this is....any ideas?
Some form of goat yoga?
Goat pilates?
We are baffled....

And then he tries to impress little Bernadette because we all know she is in love with Keith the goat.
Just wait 'til you see the MOVIE!

WHAT are we going to do with him?
He just wants us to look at HIM, HIM, HIM!

Is it working?

Hey Publicist?

We've HAD it!
More snow today?!
It's just wrong!

We want summer.
We want summer NOW!

PLEASE?
How can you resist that face?

AbbyDay - Sometimes One's Kid Can Drive One Batty

It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week written by the best goat on the Earth.

As we all have been complaining lately - IT'S BEEN SNOWING.
A lot.
As you saw, we have been hiding in our goathouses.
It was STILL snowing all day yesterday so the publicist put us up in the barn.
It's nice and warm and dry in the barn.

But there are downsides to the barn.
Like having to be in a pen with my kid, Rudy the goat.

He is a little crazy.
He jumps up on the hay feeder.
I don't know what he thinks he's going to find up there.

But he looks...

And he looks....

And he looks!
What a silly goat!

Yes, I'm maaaaing about you.
Get down from there.
It's time to eat.

You cannot eat Thelma and Bernadette's grain from there.
You had your own and half of mine already!
Just get down here!

And eat your hay!

You see what I have to put up with?
You wonder why I want to stay outside?

ps:  Pricilla maaaas thank you for all of the very nice comments everyone left yesterday about the BlogPaws Nomination. She maaas that they made her feel all warm inside.

It Snowed AGAIN

We are hiding.

That is all.

The State of the Tree-t

You will recall that the male person cut the Christmaaa Tree in half so we could each have some tree-t.
We have been munching and crunching and enjoying our tree-t.
Look....

...it is quite eaten!
We have done a good job of stripping the needles but we still have work to do.

The other half looks just as naked.

We must have been hungry goats!
At this time of year anything other than hay tastes special.

Really, publicist!
Don't you have something different for us to munch?
We are all getting tired of hay, hay, hay and more hay.

Ok - you are right we do get grain.
But sometimes a goat wants something green.
Or something.....RED.
Got it?

Rudy IS a Happy Goat

Every day when the publicist lets Rudy out of the barn he gets very excited to be outside.
That or he wants he morning grain.
One or the other.

Whatever the reason he always dances the Goat Dance of Joy on his way to his pen.
He is truly a Happy Goat.

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

Oh to be young!
Oh to be able to dance like that again!
It's fun to watch!

Do you do the dance of joy?

Hey, Hey, Hey Publicist!

I was standing there enjoying a nice scratch from the publicist when she was rudely interrupted.
Or perhaps I should maaaa Rudyley interrupted.
Watch for yourself....

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

Can you believe your eyes?
How RUDE is little Rude-y
I think I will spell his name that way from now on!
Harumph!

Kids these days.

Mayhems, continued.

You will recall that on Saturday goats were definitely not where they belonged.
It was MAYHEMS ON THE FARM!
Mayhems I maaaa!

Luke the goat was in the doe pen and when he finally went back to his pen....

Keith the goat was in HIS pen!

Not only Keith, but Rudy the goat was in there too!
Just what was going on at the Farm!?!
Was there something in the water?

I sure don't know.
I was very surprised that Luke did not mind Rudy munching on his hay.
Luke is usually pretty protective of his hay.

And Rudy was eating HUGE mouthfuls of it!

Even Keith was a bit surprised.

But he soon figured he would join the munching party.
THAT'S when Luke took notice.

Uh-huh.
LUKE'S hay.

They couldn't leave fast enough.

Sometimes it is better to be outside looking in.
Right Rudy?

AbbyDay - AbbyGoat Inspects the Hay Pile

It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week. I'm AbbyGoat the best goat in the World writing from the best Farm anywhere. Because I, AbbyGoat live on it.

Pricilla has reported that we now have a new hay pile.
It was about time.
I was getting ready to butt the heck out of maaa to the publicist about the hay situation.
Her explanations about all the tasty weeks and yummy grasses to eat in the summer just wasn't cutting it.
We goats want our hay!

So now we finally have it.
Of course, I AbbyGoat had to inspect it to make sure it was good enough for me all of us here on the Farm.
And so I did.

If you cannot see the movie you can watch it on YouTube HERE

Did you see my tail going so fast it almost disappeared?
Did you see Rudy's tail going almost as fast?

We APPROVE of the hay!

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!

Little Rudy is just such a cute little guy.
It took her a bit but the publicist has convinced the male person to let her keep him.

I can understand why.
Who could resist that little face?
I think it will be nice to see him grow up.

I am sure AbbyGoat will be happy to have another one of her kids on the Farm.
Eating weeds and just generally causing trouble.

What? You don't believe that little Rudy can cause trouble.
Just look at him!
No kid is THAT sweet and innocent.

Even the publicist knows he is a little devil sometimes.
But she still loves him.

Goat Stare of Death notwithstanding....

INVASION!

Farm Cat Friday is being postponed because I have news of an INVASION.
It's true.
I would not lie.
Look! See for yourselves.

AbbyGoat invaded the yurt!
Can you believe such boldness.

Does she think she wants to eat read a book?
And what does Rudy think HE is doing?

He invaded too!
What nerve!

AbbyGoat even checked out the kitchen.
Of course!
She IS a piggie goat.

Uh - oh, the goat stare of death!
In the yurt!

Time to go before trouble starts.
Silly invaders!
What WAS the publicist thinking leaving the door open like that?

The Male Person is a GREAT Guy

Can you guess why?
Because he brought us turnip greens.
The male person - not the publicist!
Wasn't that nice of him?

He came to ME first of course.

He knows how much I love my greens.
He left me a bunch and then he went to the greedy goats other pen.

Thelma and Louise had eaten tasty turnip greens before but Mick and Keith weren't quite sure about them.
They soon learned that if the male person is passing it out it's from the garden and if it's from the garden it's tasty!

The got down to munching.
Smart kids.
But you will note who is stealing them before he can give them to her.

Uh huh - the chief piggie goat!

Just look at her!
She has her snout right up in the greens.

Poor Thelma and Louise.
If they are not careful AbbyGoat will eat them all!

The male person TRIES to pass them out.
(Can you see me in the background enjoying my greens in PEACE?)

But somegoat is always there sneaking them out from the bottom of the pile.
Hey wait a minute!
Like nanny, like kid!

Abby is teaching little Rudy to steal the greens too!
