UPDATE: Christmas Tree-t

Remember the Christmas Tree-t?

Oh boy I do!
We sure had fun munching on that tasty fir.

This is what the tree-t look like now.

It is a shadow of its former self.
Wouldn't you say?
We still munch on it believe it or not.
There is still a lot of bark to nibble on.

We will work on that tree-t until it is totally stripped naked.
We are relentless goats. And hungry....

Mem'ries - Piny Tree Smelling Mem'ries of the Tree-t That Was*

Mem'ries light the corner of my cud
Piny tree smelling mem'ries of the Tree-t that was

Scattered needles of the branches we left behind
Burps we passed at one another for the Tree-t that was

Can it be that it was all so green and full then
Or has time removed every branch
If we had the chance to eat it all again, tell me would we,
could we

See me singing?

Mem'ries may be beautiful and yet
What's too empty to remember, we simply chew and forget
So it's the needles we'll remember
Whenever we remember the Tree-t that was

The Tree-t that was.*

This is the state of the Tree-t one week later.
Obviously we have been enjoying it....

AbbyDay - Christmas Tree-t Finale

It's AbbyDay and it is only right that I, Abby Goat should tell the final chapter of the tale of the Christmas Tree-t.

I am the last goat out of the barn every morning.
I say this is because they say that they save the best for last.
The publicist says this is because she milks me last.

Whatever.

So on the day of the Christmas Tree-t I was very surprised when I got to the doe pen.
I love tree as much as the next goat.

Mmmm, tree.
All for ME!

I scared everyone else away and started to check it out from all angles.

I mean, really! They had been munching on it for a while already.
Why shouldn't it be all MINE?
I looked at it from the top.

I looked at it from the bottom.

Silly publicist!

I checked it out thoroughly.

It is a VERY tasty tree!
You can take the word of Abby Goat!

I also gave my horns a bit of a workout. This scraped the bark off of the trunk.

This let me nibble the bark and the tender tree inside.

I checked out my scraping to see how I did.
Brilliantly of course!

Yum!
Little Kringle knew an expert tree eater when he saw one.

He was in awe.
That or he was passing goat gas.
One or the other.
I will go with awe.

I hope you enjoyed this week long tale of the Christmas Tree-t. We Happy Goats sure did!
Remember, the best way to recycle your tree is to feed it to a goat!

Christmas Tree-t Part III

Today I bring you the cutest photos of our Christmas tree-t.
Kringle, of course!
This was his very first taste of tree and he really enjoyed himself.

Of course he wasn't quite sure at first what that big green thing was.

But he watched his nanny and me munch on the tree and he soon learned that it was a tasty goat snack.

Mallory, being an older goat dug right in.

Marion took her time but ended up enjoying it very much.

Little Kringle seemed to like the trunk of the tree the best.

He spent most of his time munching the bottom.

Well, fiber is fiber, right?
When he was done munching he then went and had a nice drink of milk.

It's so tough being a kid!

Many of you were so nice to ask about my studmuffin and little Brewster. They did not get a tree but the publicist did cut them some branches from a tree on the lot so they did have some pine to eat.  Thank you for thinking of them.

Tomorrow the tale of the Christmas Tree-t finishes up with AbbyDay!

Christmas Tree-t Part II

We are still enjoying the Christmas tree-t from the male person and the publicist.
Mmmm, tree.

It is nice to have some greens.
Greens are good in a diet.
Even for you humans.
It's true!
I wouldn't lie to you.
So eat your greens. Pricilla says so!

Today I will show you how much my kid Sarah and my grandkid Nora enjoyed munching on the tree.
Nora LOVES tree.

She must get that from me.
heh

She just ran right up to the front of the tree and nommed away.
Good girl, Nora. Good girl!

Sarah had to check it out first.

She gave it a good sniff...

Then decided it a tasty treat!
Smart Sarah.

I knew that once she tasted it she would be a muncher extraordinaire!

On Thursday you will get to see the fun that little Kringle had with the tree-t.

Christmas Tree-t Part I

The publicist brought us down from the barn today and we found a big surprise in our pen.
It was a very special tree-t for us goats.

That's right!
It is a Christmas tree.
The publicist and the male person's Christmas tree.
They knew we would love to munch on it and they were right.

We all had a lot of fun with our surprise and it will take all week to share it with you.
The publicist took lots of photos.
I will go first.
I dug right in to that delicious Frasier fir.

As I told you before I am a fir connoisseur.
Mmmm, delicious!

There is nothing like a munch of greens in a dreary winter.
It is also good for a good head scratch.

I love a good head scratch.
Especially from a tree with such good needles.

That splotch you see on my neck is some iodine. I had a boo-boo that the publicist had to put medicine on. It stung a little but I am better now.

We will be able to munch on this tree all week long. By the time we are done there will be nothing left but the trunk. Then we will eat the bark off of that.

Ooooh, what a tree -t!

Thank you male person and publicist!
We are very Happy Goats today!

Tomorrow I will show you how much Nora and Sarah enjoyed the tree.

Munch of a Christmas Tree

Yesterday Michael got a special treat. Why Michael instead of Luke or us girls? In my opinion - because we girls are getting lots of extra grain right now because we are pregnant and well, Luke got us girls. But this is a family blog and I don't want to go into that.

The publicist and the male person are still living in their trailer while the male person builds their house. It is very crowded so they weren't going to have a Christmas tree this last Christmas because there just wasn't room. This made the publicist's brother and sister in law sad. So they sent the publicist a mini Christmas tree! It was very cute and made the publicist very happy.

But Christmas was over quite a while ago and the tree has long dried out. It was time for it to leave the trailer. I have mentioned how much we goats love to munch on trees. Since there was only one tree and it wasn't that big it could only go to one goat. Michael did have fun with it. He sniffed it.

He rubbed it and butt it. (You can see this is a "action" shot because of the blur!)

He tossed it around with his horns.

And finally, he ate it. Yum!

It was a good tree in more ways than one.....
