Farm Cat Friday - Harry the Farm Cat is Feeling All Better!

Harry the Farm cat would like to thank everyone who send all of the purrs and positive thoughts his way. He did not have to go the VET and he is now back to his normal cat self.
The publicist thinks he ate something he should not have and he just had to wait while it worked its way through his little cat body.

She thinks it happened when he ESCAPED!
It's true!
Harry the Farm cat escaped the yurt and went exploring.
The publicist was worried because Harry is such a little cat he would make a good appetizer for the eagle.

She went out looking for him but he was like a little black and white streak. He had several adventures that I will tell you about in the coming Farm Cat Friday posts.  First she saw him by the big truck that pulls the trailer.

But he would not come when the publicist called his name.
Oh no! He was OUT and he was going to have FUN!

He ran off, but where did he go?
Did Stinky the Farm cat see where he went?
She had a bird's eye view!

The publicist looked all over but no Harry!
But then she found some more help!

Sherpa the Farm cat!
Would HE find Harry?

He looked and looked and looked!

He looked under the trailer.

He looked under the male person's old motorcycle.
No luck!

Wait! Is that a meow?

HARRY THE FARM CAT!
Coming out from under the shed!

Get him, get him!
But NO!
He saw the publicist and he RAN.
Ran like the wind!

Right into this!
UH-OH!
What are those chickens going to do to Harry?!
You will have to come back next week to see!

I also must tell you that Isobelle Golightly the Beautiful Goat won my contest for my 1,000th post and I have sent her her choice of soaps. I thank everyone who commented to enter and all of you for continuing to read my blog.

Corn Stalks Ho!

We have been enjoying the corn stalks that the publicist's friend brought for us.
We are truly very spoiled goats!

What is most exciting about corn stalks is that sometimes you find an ear of corn hiding on the stalk that the human forgot to harvest.

Mmmmm, corn.

So it is a lot of fun to play "find the ear" with the stalks.
I am an expert.

Here I shared a pile with Nora the goat.
Not that I told her any of my secrets for finding ears of corn.
I won't go THAT far.
You can see how hard I am searching, though.

The kids don't know this little secret yet.
They are just excited to have something to eat besides hay.

They will learn.

Although it looks like Thelma found a cabbage leaf hiding in the corn stalks.
Good work Thelma!

You might ask, "Where is Sarah the goat?"
We wondered too.

She was being a baaaad goat.
She was out in the driveway over in the big pile of corn stalks.

I guess she felt she was too "good" to eat with the rest of us.
Harumph!

She missed out on the cabbage.
That will teach her!

AbbyDay - I am the Specialest Goat on the Farm

It's AbbyDay! The best day of the week. Why do you even bother with those other days?

Pricilla keeps going on and on and on and on about HER treat of cabbage.
Blahmaaa, blahmaaa, blahmaaa is what I have to maaaaa about that.

She is not the only goat to get cabbage.
I also got cabbage and I am the specialest goat on the Farm.
How do I know this?
Pffffft! It's obvious....because I am AbbyGoat!

The publicist showed me the cabbage and asked if I wanted some.
Well, duh!
Is she getting stupid in her old age?

Of COURSE I wanted some.
In fact, I wanted it ALL!

She should know this by now.
Aaaaah, goat bliss!

I could stand here all day and be fed as is only right.
I am Queen of the goat pen!

I think that I should have my own special feeder who just follows me around and feeds me what I want to eat. That way I wouldn't have to work as hard.

As is appropriate for AbbyGoat!

The Fairy Hobmother made an appearance over on the publicist's blog. If you leave a comment she might just hop on over to your blog and make your wish come true....

Buster Brown the Goat LOVES Cabbage!

It's true!
You will remember that the publicist's very kind friend brought us some yummy cabbage with the HUGE pile of corn stalks.

Buster Brown had never seen cabbage in his short little life so the publicist thought she would feed some to him.

What a lucky little goat.
Not that I am not a spoiled goat. Ah-hem!

His little goat face just lit up from the yummy goodness that is cabbage!
Or maybe it was goat gas.
I do not know.

WhatEVER! He really enjoyed munching on those delicious purple leaves.

I can't say I blame him.
I know I enjoyed my treat of crisp cabbage.
I am sure you would too!

Some of those leaves were as big as Buster Brown!
He was a very happy little kid when he was done with his treat.

I am sure that if the publicist presented him with cabbage again he would not say NO!

I heard from the publicist that Harry the Farm cat is sick. He has to go to the VET today if she can get an appointment. He has been throwing up and been listless and not eating. She is very worried so she is asking everyone to think about him today.

Silly Sunday - The Many Faces of Luke the Goat

You all know how much I love my studmuffin, Luke the goat.
But even I have to admit that he looks pretty silly when he is eating.

It doesn't change how I feel about him.
He is still the love of my life.

The Male Person Tries to Make up for the Lack of Husks

I think the male person was trying to make up for the paucity of corn husks.
That or he is trying to get the boys to like him.

They don't you know.
They only like the publicist.
heh

He went over and tried to feed them through the fence.

I watched with great interest. I wondered if I would get any of these husks.
But, alas. It was not to be. They were all for the boys that day.

Luke the goat is no fool and food is food no matter who is giving it to you.

But Buster Brown was not so sure. He had never seen these things called "corn husks' before. Combine that with this strange male person feeding them to him and he was suspicious.

Silly Buster Brown!

Farm Cat Friday - Do You Ever Get the Feeling You are Being Watched?

This is happening to the publicist and male person lately.

I wonder why?

Ever since Sherpa the Farm cat was successful in his bid to jump up on the wall of the yurt he has been spending a fair bit of time up there.

He and Harry the Farm cat have been up there together.
Uh-oh!

Are they conspiring?!
Is the publicist in trouble?!

Thelma and Louise Get Their First Taste of Corn Husk

This is the first time that little Thelma and Louise have tasted corn husks. Since they only come out for us to munch at this time of year and the kids are usually gone from the Farm it was fun to see them learning to enjoy a new treat.

At first they weren't so sure about this new kind of food.
There were lots of sniffs and pokes but they eventually figured out that corn husks were TASTY!

Smart kids.

Once they realized just how good a nice, dry husk was they chowed right down.

Like good goats they explored all of the different piles since one pile might just be better than another pile.

Hey, you never know....it's possible!

Louise especially liked the pile on top of the spool.
Hmmm, I did not try that pile. I wonder if it WAS better!

Oh well, I will never know. I do know that the kids very much enjoyed their first munch of corn husks.

AbbyDay - Mine, Mine All Mine. I NEVER Share My Husks

It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week. You might as well just sleep from AbbyDay to AbbyDay because nothing else is important.

I do not understand that Pricilla.
She SHARED her corn husks with Nora the goat.
WHY would she do such a thing?!

Pffffft!
I, AbbyGoat would never share my husks with any goat. (Well maybe with my kids but only if they were very small.)
If there are husks to be had I am going to have them!

Do not mess with AbbyGoat!
If there are husks to be had, I will have them.

It does not matter if somegoat is eating them.
THEY WILL BE MINE!
Bwamaaaahahahaha!

I am AbbyGoat....I rule the goat pen.

Corn Season - We Love Husks

The male person harvested the corn from his garden. Sadly for us goats he did not grow as much corn as he did last year. I do not know why he is punishing us this way. What did we do wrong that we deserve less corn? We are good goats! We should get, if anything, MORE corn husks than last year!

Harumph!

Anyway, he harvested 110 ears of corn for the publicist to do whatever it is she does with the corn that does not involve feeding it to us. LAST year there were 347 ears of corn so you can see why we goats are so upset. That is a lot less husks for us to eat not to mention a lot fewer stalks when he cuts them down.

Harumph again!
What was that man thinking?!

Oh well SOME corn husks are better than NO corn husks, right?

Sarah showed an amazing lack of daintiness in eating hers.
Sometimes I cannot believe she is my kid.

I chose to be a dignified goat and I even shared mine with Nora.
THAT is how a goat should behave.

I have to admit that even though there were not as many as last year they were mighty tasty.

Uhm, OK! Maybe I was a bit of a piggie goat.
But I'll bet YOU could not resist the lure of the husk.

Especially when they are all around you.

I can share. Would YOU like a husk?
Go on, I know you want one....
