Mmmmm, GRAIN!

I know I probably sound like a broken record but GRAIN is an important part of our day.
It just tastes so good.
I told you all on Tuesday how Nora and I get to go down to the pen first.
When we go down we get a bit of yummy grain for being good goats.

Nora gets her grain in the hay feeder but she has some uninvited guests.

Those rotten chickens!
They keep trying to steal her grain.

It is not fair!
They have their own type of grain in their chicken house.
They should leave our grain alone.

But Nora uses her horns to her advantage!

Shooo chickens. Shooo!
Finally, some peace.

She can now enjoy her treat without any interruptions.
Erm,

I will not confirm or deny the identity of the goat in that photo.
Ah hem.

Sarah and Abby come down a bit later after Sarah has been milked.
The publicist gives them their grain in the barn but she does bring a little extra in her pocket. I suspect it's because she cannot resist faces like this...

Could you?
Sarah gobbles the grain from the publicist's hand

She loves this little extra treat.
I know I would!
Until....

UH-OH!
If I were Sarah I would get out of the way!

Claire asked about my studmuffin's baling twine hat. The publicist had taken it off because Luke had rubbed it almost completely off. She thought he would be a good boy.

She was wrong.
So now here is what he looks like now....

Silly Luke.
Safe Brewster.

It's Nice to Get Out of the Barn in the Morning

I do admit that I am a lucky goat.
I have a nice warm barn to go to at night.
I don't have to worry about some animal coming and eating me.
I have a place to sleep that is safe and out of the wind and the weather.

I also admit that it is very nice to come out of the barn in the morning.
It is fun to run and kick up my hooves and do the goat dance of joy.

Nora and I are the first goats out in the morning.
This is good because it gives us some time away from mean Abby and Sarah.
(They like to butt us!)

When we come out we love to rub our fur along the buck pen.

This is a great way to help get rid of our winter underfur.
Since it is starting to warm up it's Shaggy Time.

It just feels so good!
Almost like a goat massage.
The male person says this is part of what makes us so hard on fencing.
Harumph!

Then we trot on down to the doe pen where a yummy treat is waiting for us.

What do YOU think it is?
It's one of my favorite treats!

GRAIN!

Ooooh, we all enjoy grain.
On Thursday you will see just how much!
And what animal tries to steal our grain!

I'm Baaaaaack!

It was a wonderful vacation!
I basked in the little sun we had.
I slept
I ate some grain.
I had a pedicure.
I had my fur groomed.
Aaaaaaah, I am one Happy Goat.

But it is time for me to get back to work. I would like to thank Sherpa and the Farm cats for doing such a great job with the Catstacular Event. I think everyone enjoyed it.  The giveaways will stay posted off to the left until they are over so keep on entering!

I have one big announcement to make.
No, I am not going to have a kid!
I told you, I AM RETIRED.

Marion the goat has left the Farm.
We will all miss her little face.

We were just too many goats in too little barn and with Abby, Sarah and Nora pregnant something had to give.
Sadly that something was Marion.
I will have a retrospective post for her later in the week.

Other than that we are all happy to see you and want to maaaa hello after our two week break.
Nora maaaas that she is glaaaad to be the smallest doe on the Farm now.

It makes her feel special.

Abby maaaas that she can't wait to have her kid(s)

Somegoat is looking mighty fat!
She is due in the next couple of weeks.

Sarah maaas that she is feeling good and starting to show.

She is due in May.

Brewster just MAAAAAAAAS!

A LOT.

And my studmuffin.....

He is as cute as ever.

I hope you are as glad to have us back are we are to be back. Soon there will the tales of hopping kids that we all love. Even if they are only my grandkids I am so happy to have them on the Farm.

The publicist says Spring can't be too far away - she saw a bluebird sitting on one of our fence posts. She says that is a sure sign that warmer weather is coming.

So let's all Maaaaaa for Spring.

I can't wait to do the Goat Dance of Joy in the warm Spring air.
How about you?

Catstacular Event - Review: Scratchkabin by katcabin

Boy are we lucky Farm cats or what?
We have gotten to try lots of great things during the Catstacular Event.
We've gotten to meet other cats through their guest posts.
(All those pretty girlcats!!!!)

Today we have a review for you. Harry, Pumpkin and I worked very hard on this. Stinky shied away - the publicist thinks it's because she is an old cat. I don't care it meant more fun time for me. Me-OW!

The publicist even took some video of us but the camera ate it. I am very disappointed I wanted to be a movie star! The publicist said some things that I cannot post on this blog.
It's a family blog....

Anyway a great big box came to the yurt. We cats love big boxes.
But what was in this big box was even better than the box!
I know!
It was something the publicist called a Skratchkabin

but I called it F.U.N.
I especially liked the little mousie.
I play with the mousie every night. EVERY night.
The publicist and the male person yell at me EVERY NIGHT
because i am making so much noise with the little mousie.
Sometimes I leave it in a special place for the publicist to find.

She is not always amused by this.
I don't know why.

I love to sit inside the Skratchkabin and hide from the other cats.
It's peaceful and dark in there and the cushion is nice and soft.

I also like to scratch on it which the publicist like very much.
Pumpkin scratches on it a lot too which is good because Pumpkin was scratching on the new furniture and this made the humans VERY mad.

More words I can't repeat on the blog....

Pumpkin hides inside too.

This sometimes leads to erm, discussions between us.
I won't tell you who wins....

Here mousie, mousie

Harry and I like to sit on top of the Scratchkabin and cuddle together.

Harry is my little pet.
Can cats have cats as pets?
I think so!

I will tell you that all three of us give the Skratchkabin 4 paws up! It is great to scratch and great to sit on. Plus the mousie is a fantastic toy.

The material on the kabin is fun for our claws to pull. The more will pull the more it pills and the more it pills the more we pull. This is good for the publicist's furniture. Pumpkin hasn't scratched at it since the Scratchkabin came into the yurt.

That makes the male person VERY happy.

The publicist again apologizes for the lack of video. She is now saying more bad words and threatening to throw her video camera into the river. I will see if I can stop her.

If you go over to her blog one of you can win your very own Skratchkabin! She is giving one away thanks to the very nice humans from the company. So go and check it out!

I hope you all enjoyed the Catstacular Event. I had fun being your Maitre de Chat. You will still see me and the other Farm cats on the blog now and then. Maybe Pricilla WILL let us have our own day....

Disclosure:  We cats were sent this Scratchkabin for free. We told the truth about how we feel about it. We didn't even get treats for playing with it! That is how much fun it is.

Catstacular Event - Sherpa Reflects....

Well there is only one day left to the Catstacular Event. After tomorrow's post I have to hand the blog back to Pricilla. I have had a lot of fun for these two weeks and I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed.

I know that Pricilla is looking forward to getting back to work. She is lucky.
She gets to go outside.
I have to stay inside, although I was a bad boy yesterday and I escaped!

This upset the publicist because she does not want me out in the world. She is afraid that the eagle will come and get me like it did Fred.

Maybe I should get one of those Kritter Kondos.

Then I could go outside and enjoy the warm sunshine.
But then I wouldn't be able to chase the chickens. Which is another kind of cat run altogether! Me-OW!

Hey!
Maybe that is what the publicist wants.
I know she does not like me to chase the chickens.

But the Kritter Kondo is very cool.
I think the pink is the pet enclosure for Stinky 'cause she is a girlcat.

Me, I need a manly looking Kondo.
I am a mancat!

Maybe I will go to the Kritters that Twitter blog and enter their Spring Fling Blog Party to win a Kritter Kondo! I wonder if they will let a cat enter....

I know I can't enter the giveaway the publicist is having on her blog....
That would be very wrong.
But YOU can!
Head on over and you might just win your own Kritter Kondo Deluxe.

Catstacular Event - Guest Post from Moo of Your Daily Cute

Finally!
Another mancat! Not that I don't mind drooling all over staring at the ladies but it's nice to see another boy around here.

I am talking about Moo brother of Pimp from Your Daily Cute, a blog full of all things well, cute! They even have their OWN DAY on the blog called Two Cats Tuesday. We Farm cats don't get OUR own day. What is up with that? ME-ow! I think I am going to take a poll and see if you guys would want a Farm cat day on Pricilla's blog.

Just don't tell Pricilla - she would butt me!
Anyway....here is Moo's post. Read and enjoy:

Oh, hi! My name is Moo and I live with my brother, Pimp and my mom who runs YourDailyCute.com. Moms likes to call me a goofball, but I can't imagine why. It's not like I do anything silly like spend my days upside down attacking my brother or shoving my nose in Mom's face for attention...

I'm so happy to be part of the Farm Cats' Catstacular Event! I get to help do a lot good things to help other animals that aren't as lucky as Pimp and me to have a good home. I used to be outside so I know what it's like. I showed up at Mom's back porch and begged for three weeks straight for her to adopt me - and she did!  She always tells me she's the lucky one, but I know I am lucky too.

Every Christmas, Mom and her friends put together Santa Paws Drive to help bring Christmas to kitties and doggies who are in shelters and won't otherwise get presents for Christmas.  We think they deserve love and holiday cheer, too!  They do it all online so everyone can donate. And they pick six shelters all around the world to donate to!  This year we even sent some to an island off the coast of Africa!

I like to get in the Christmas spirit to help support it...

Then, just last week after the earthquake and tsunami, Mom and her friends got together again to put together Paws for Japan, to help raise money to go to help the animals hurt or lost because of the disaster. So many blogs and anipal friends we have on Twitter helped out to spread the word!  Can you believe almost $40,000 has been raised to help World Vets help over there?
Wow!

Pimp and I know we're extra lucky, so we love to help out any other cats and animals we can.  And the Farm Cats and Pricilla and the rest of the goats chipped in to help too. We are very happy to know them and the publicist.

Wow! Pimp and Moo are very lucky and generous. We Farm cats were very happy to help with Paws for Japan. Pricilla is donating 10% of her soap sales through April 11th. As of yesterday the donation amount is $16.40. Woo hoo for Pricilla. I am sure it will add up over the next few weeks.

I am glad that Moo came to visit. Be sure to check out the publicist's blog where she is giving away a Kritter Kondo Deluxe. Some lucky cat will get to go outside in splendour!

Catstacular Event - Guest Post from Angel and Isabella from The Beaded Tail

I must keep my mind on my job today. It's going to be hard with these two ideals of feline purrfection sharing the blog with me today. I am very honored to bring you a guest post from the very lovely Angel and Isabella from The Beaded Tail. Their mommeh makes very beautiful jewelry which you can buy in her store also called The Beaded Tail. She uses the monies to help animals.

My name is Angel and my sisfur Isabella and I are so excited to be able to participate in the Farm Cats Catstacular event!

Before I was in the shelter where I found my mommy and daddy, I was borned a Farm Cat too.  I was too little to remember anything about my time there but I often wonder what kind of different critters I'd see while on a farm.  Of course the Farm Cats at the Happy Goats Farm gets to see lots of pretty goats, handsome bucks and adorable kids, lots of chickens, hawks, eagles and even horses.   My sisfur Isabella and I are Suburban Cats so the critters we get to see here include big black birdies...

We often see neighbor cats and the occasional deer...

It's really fun when an opossum ventures out from under our deck to where we can see it...

Even though we do have some fun critters to watch, we envy the Farm Cats who get to watch all the Happy Goats but at least we do get to have a little piece of the Happy Goats Farm in our house too!

No matter if we live in the suburbs or on a farm, we know what's important is being happy, have lots of love and enjoying every minute of every day!

Have a Catstacular Day!

Wow! Angel and Isabella live an exciting life! We have deer visit now and then but I have NEVER seen an opossum! That must have been something else and aren't the babies delicious adorable? Angel and Isabella often give VERY sage advice on their blog and they live with a DOG. She is very pretty (for a dog) and her name is Sadie. Be sure to check out The Beaded Tail so you can keep up with what is going on in their lives.

I am very glad they came by to post today.

Be sure to go over to the Publicist's blog where you will see me in action as the publicist's Shipping Assistant and my new personalized stamp from PJ Greetings.

Catstacular Event - Sherpa Explains His Shipping Assistant Job

I'll bet none of you knew just how hard I work at being the publicist's shipping assistant.
It's very hard work!
I have to inspect all the boxes.

Harry sometimes helps but he is not as good at it as I am.

Maybe I will ship Harry somewhere.....Hmmmm
Then I have to inspect the invoices to make sure they are A-OK

Then my extra special Shipping Assistant Stamp from PJ Greetings goes on.

That's 'cause I'm an extra special Shipping Assistant!
This is the most important step of all because then MY face goes on every order.
PJ Greetings made the pet stamp from a photo the publicist sent in. It's self inking and made from soy ink so it's eco-friendly! You can read the publicist's review on her blog today.

The nice people from PJ's are giving away a pet stamp

You can enter to win on the publicist's blog.

You can also get a 20% discount if you order one by using the code TOMOSON
Discounts are great - especially on cat treats.
I eat a lot of cat treats.

She sent in this picture of me

and this is what the stamp looks like

It came out great, didn't it?

I like it!
I'm a stamp star!
After I double check the invoice and the publicist gets the boxes all sealed up I then make sure they are ready to mail.

This is very hard work!
Look how high I had to climb!

Now you can all rest assured that your soap order is well packed and double inspected by
Shipping Assistant Sherpa!

Whew!
Time for a nap.
Enjoy the guest post from the cats from The Beaded Tail! More pretty lady cats for me to stare at....

Disclosure:  The publicist received the free Pet Stamp from PJ Greetings to help me with my job as Shipping Assistant. Any opinions are our honest opinions and were not impacted by her receipt of the free product. She received no money for this post but I got some treats. I like treats.

Catstacular Event - Guest Post from Grace at Duck and Wheel with String

Today I would like to welcome a very special cat. A cat that is not often seen or heard; Grace from Duck and Wheel with String. I am telling you all of these beautiful girl cats are driving me crazy. What is the publicist trying to do to me?  I hope you like Grace's story:

While Hobbes gets the majority of the attention over at the Duck and Wheel, I want you to know that is not the case at home. Mom and I are very close and she often whispers in my ear that I am "her girl" - which makes me purr.  I thought my guest post for Pricilla's week off might be a good time to tell you all about me for a change.

Mom had to put her kitty, Molly, down the day I came to live with them - she was sick for along time.  Colin and Emma were very young then, so Mom and Dad planned on giving another kitty a home right away because she didn't want Colin and Emma to be sad for too long.

That day come too quickly and the whole family appeared at the no-kill shelter that I was living at.  It was in a house, so it was pretty nice, but I wanted to be an only kitty and wanted out of there fast. I actually greeted my new family at the door and acted like I was all cuddly and loved kids - but it was an act. I'm sort of an actress, I guess.

Here is my baby picture:

While I'm not big on cuddling OR kids, I do like Mom. She and I nap together and I like to sit by the tub while she takes bubble baths - it is our time together. She and I also talk a lot and I help her when she is on the computer - I sit on the keyboard.

I like Dad and the kids a bit better now, but I still don't like Hobbes. In fact, I don't like any other kitties - I like to be an only cat. I barely tolerate that big orange guy and swat at him every chance I get.  Sometimes, I even chase him when Mom is not looking.

Hobbes is actually second fiddle around the house, although you wouldn't know it by all the attention he gets at our blog.
Sheesh.

I am very glad that Grace found a forever home even if she has to live with Hobbes. Hmmm, I wonder if this means she would not like me, either. Oh, well! You should head over to Duck and Wheel with String for some fun posts and for I Love Hobbes Thurdays. Hobbes kind of looks like me....

Be sure to head over to the publicist's blog where she has a great review of some yummy cat treats from Po's Bag of Bones Bakery.
