Mousie Huntin'

There's some mousie huntin' going on in the barn.
I am sure you are not surprised by this.
But you might be surprised by the hunter...

SHERPA the Farm cat?!
I would have thought it would have been Harry the Farm cat!
Sherpa usually does not hunt mousie.

But he did this day.
He was very intent.

WAIT! Is that a mousie he hears?
He had better go and check.
He wouldn't want to miss those tasty mousie brains now would he?

 

Sherpa?
Sherpa?
SHERPA?!

I think I hear chewing.....

Sherpa Goes Where Harry Went Before

I could not believe my goat eyes.
SHERPA the Farm cat was in the barn!

He does not usually go into the barn.
When he decides to hunt it is usually for snakes and lizards, not mousie.
The barn is Harry the Farm cat's territory.

And we all know Sherpa!

He was looking UP!
I suppose you all know where that ended erm, up?

That's right!
UP!
With one big leap.
Up into the cobwebs.
Ick!

He toured all around up there.
I wonder if he thought it was like being in the yurt?

He went all the way down to the other end of the barn.
He was on high alert for mousie.

Then he started back.
He really does like being UP!

Wait!
Is that a sound?
Could it be a mousie!

Or is it over there?
Those mousies are devious!

I think I will leave him to his hunting.
What do you think?

Up a Tree?

As a hard working Farm cat I go On Patrol every day!
I need to make sure that I keep the mousies at bay.
Not to mention snack on their delicious brains.

To do this right I cover a lot of ground on the Farm.
And some other places.

I have been known to climb a tree or two.
I get a good view from up there.
I can spot mousies or even better - gophers!

The male person does not like gophers.
Especially in his garden.
So I make sure to find them wherever they might be!

I survey in all directions.
I am a diligent Farm cat!
What's that?

Time to go!
I never know what I might find, but I will keep looking......

Wherever it takes me!
Stay tuned.

Bernadette Maaas That There is an INVADER in the Goat Barn!

It's true!
I would not lie.
Little Bernadette was all up in hooves.

Just look at her.
Does she not look worried?
What has her so discomhoofled?

What else?
Harry the Farm cat!
He has come into the barn a little early to hunt mousie.
He usually waits until we leave.

But he did NOT wait.
He was very anxious to start his huntin'.
So he jumped right up.
I am not sure that Louise is very happy either.

Harry did not CARE.
He had places to be and mousies to hunt!

He went in to AbbyGoat's pen!
He is one brave kitty.
But he was not done moving around yet.
Oh no - he went further.

He went into....
Luke the goat's pen!
That is one gutsy cat.
He stayed there until we all left.
Luke did not seem to notice which was good for Harry.

Would YOU want to get in the way of those horns?

Huntin' Mousie

I'm Harry the Farm cat and I'm huntin' mousie.

Huntin' mousie in the barn.
It's early - you can see the sun just peaking in the window.

I'm just waking up but there are mousies to be hunted so I must do my work.
It is hard work.
I have to keep watch.

I look.

And I look.

And I look.
Whew! All that looking can make a mousie hunter tired.

But I will look some more because it's WHAT I DO!

Now I will look over here.
You never know where a mousie will appear.

I will stay on the job ALL DAY LONG looking for mousies.
Don't you worry!
I am an expert mousie hunter.
