It's Friday and that means it's AbbyDay! Let's hear a hooray for Abbyday! Ordinarily I would write all about ME but I am going to be nice today and let Jillian have the day to write about her memories of Jeffrey and Emily the goats. I know she is sad that they have left; I know how that feels because it hasn't been that long since my Harry went to his new Farm. So here are Jillian's picks of pictures to remember her kids.
They were so cute when they were born; so much black you would have thought they were mine!
In fact little Jeffrey looked an awful lot like my Nora!
They grew strong and soon started doing all the things that goat kids do. Like lying in the sun with their nanny.
Emily was especially advanced for a little kid. She did some fashion modeling
and she loved to fly!
Jeffrey just liked to do the goat stomp at the publicist. Silly Jeffrey!
They loved playing with their half-brother Matthew; three little goats having fun.
But now they live on their new Farm where they will grow big and strong.

Oh well, it wouldn't be AbbyDay without ONE picture of ME....

Well it was a sad day on the Farm yesterday as the male person and the publicist took Emily and Jeffrey off to their new Farm. It's a very nice Farm and they will be well loved and spoiled but it is always hard to see the kids leave. You saw them in the back of the male person's truck in my Wordless Wednesday post. They drove them just a short distance away and this is their new goat house. Isn't it nice?

Their new goat pen has some logs for munching and a platform for hopping and another little goathouse for them to use to get out of the sun.
The kids went into their new pen and started to explore.
They checked it all out

And they both enjoyed climbing on the platform
Emily did some hopping!
I think they are going to be just fine. In fact the publicist talked with their new owners this morning and they were settling in very well. We will miss them but we know they are in a good home!

As you saw yesterday the kids were having fun hopping on the logs the publicist put in our goat pen. Not to mention munching on the logs. Mmmmm, bark. Emily it turns out is Queen of the logs! She doesn't let anygoat push her off her log.
She hops up and it doesn't matter who comes along
or even if say, Mallory, tries to butt her off...
...Emily just puts down her little head
or sometimes she even puts out a hoof.
She doesn't even take anything from her mother, Jillian!
She is one tough little kid!
Tomorrow: Goatucation - Making Goat's Milk Cheese, Feta
I know that I reported that we had our last graze of Fall. What I didn't report was all of the fun that the kids had when they went out for the graze. Since the kids were born late in the year they really haven't had many grazes - which is rather sad for them but it was the safe thing to do since the Bald Eagle hangs out in the tree. He would find goat kid to be a tasty treat and that would make us all very sad. So this graze was one of the few chances the kids got to go on a graze.
I will say that they took to it like pros! They had a very good time but I think they spent most of the time running and exploring rather than munching. I suppose that is OK when you are still nursing.
They ran over to check out the view of the river.
Then they ran down the gully and back again and discovered the big hill in the yard. THAT was really fun for them. They felt like Kids of the Hill.

Matthew thought he saw something but he soon heard his nanny calling so.....
They ran down.
What more fun could a herd of small kids have? I suspect that they would have stayed out all day if the publicist had let them!
Tomorrow: A visitor!
I know I have been writing a lot about Emily lately but she is a little spitfire! She is also the most adventurous of the the three kids. YOU might be surprised that it is the doe that is the scrappy goat, but I am not. I know that we does are the ones to go first into the fray.
You know well that Emily has been dancing on the goathouse and on the spools. But did you know that she has been leaping and flying too?
I think she is just a goat full of joy!
She flies from the goathouse.
She leaps from one spool to the other.
She flies back again.
I think she loves to play.
I don't blame her. If I were a young goat....aaaah the fun I would have.
Tomorrow: Wordless Wednesday - Oh, The Indignity!
I am an old goat but that doesn't mean I don't remember what it was like to be a kid. I can think back to the days when I had no worries and all I had to do all day was run and play. It was long, long ago but having the new kids here reminds me of those fun days.
Especially little Emily. It has been so long since we have had a little doe on the Farm it is nice for me to have girl here. She is just full of joy. She has discovered the fun of jumping on the goathouse as you know and she recently jumped all the way up on the spools! Go Emily!
The other day she was going the goat dance of joy all over the pen. It was a delight to see. She started on the little goathouse
and soon moved to the spools. They are taller and she can leap between them!
She danced to the back
She danced to the front
And then she leapt all around. Isn't she cute?
I think I could watch her dance all day long.
Tomorrow: Goatucation
Our intrepid little kid Emily showed her mettle yesterday and she kept control of the top of the new goat house. Hooray for Emily! It didn't matter how many times Mallory butt her off the top Emily just kept coming back. Look at her stomp at Mallory - she is saying, "My goat house!"
She just plain wore Mallory down. But was Emily going to keep the goat house all to herself - or was she willing to share?
Of course she was! She is a good kid. After Mallory left Matthew came to see what the fuss was about. He gave things a good sniff, and a little look-see.
He then decided to see things from a higher level.
He liked it up there! And Emily was happy to have company of her same size. Plus Matthew didn't try to butt her off - he's a good cousin. He was sure to sniff and sniff and sniff to make sure everything was A-OK.
They played up there for a bit...
...until Mallory came calling for Matthew so he jumped down to go get a drink of milk.
And by the time they were finished Emily was quite tired so she took advantage of her passing Nanny for a little help down.
The kids are enjoying having the new goat house in their pen. Who knows what they will do next!
Tomorrow: A delayed AbbyDay...and she is not happy!
As things ended yesterday we saw that Mallory had entered into the fray.....
Emily was enjoying herself on the little goat house and it seems that Mallory was not going to let her keep it to herself. It was quite a battle given that Emily is a little goat and Mallory is a big goat.
But Emily was not going to give in easily.
Mallory butt her off several times.
In fact Mallory thought she had won, but what is this?
That's right, a little goat face at the back!
Emily kept coming
and coming
and coming
Until Mallory finally gave up and left.
Emily then celebrated by doing her goat dance of joy on the top of the goat house!
Hmmm, did she stay there all alone?
