A Reminder - The Maaaaa of Pricilla

The publicist is tired and now she isn't feeling well.
Little Harley seemed a bit better today so all of our hooves are crossed.

Since she is tired I thought I would not bother her to do a new blog post tonight.
I thought I would bring you The Maaaaa of Pricilla again.
It is good advice and it is how I live my life.

This is my philosophy which is The Maaaaa of Pricilla. I thought I would share it with all of you.

Only work with people you like; butt the others out of your life.

Play like a kid; hop, leap and frolic.

Eat what you love; burp with abandon.

 Bask in the sun; this is why we have the sun.

Love your herd; they have your back.

 I hope you enjoyed this - I try and live by it everyday.

They grew VERY well.

That is why I am doing the goat dance of joy.

I am also eating lots of turnip greens.
So are the other goats.

Post Redux - How Sherpa Came to Be on the Farm

The publicist is not feeling well so I am re-running a post today. It's the tale of how Sherpa came to be on the Farm. I hope you enjoy this tale. We have a new Farm cat!

 The publicist is having some difficulties in coming up with a name for this little cutie. He was a complete surprise from the male person. You can read all about it here. It is a bit of a sad story because we are also saying goodbye to Farm Cat Fred.

The publicist is very sad about Fred. He was her favorite cat.

But the male person is a great guy and now we have a new Farm Cat or maybe I should say Farm Kitten. Isn't he cute?

I asked him a few questions so you could learn all about him.

So, where did you come from?

I was living in the shelter in Missoula. I am very happy to be in a nice house now where people play with me and I have plenty to eat and there are other cats to play with me. The other cats aren't friendly yet but I think they will be.

How did you spend your first night on the Farm?

Well, I did some exploring in my new home. I learned where the litter box is - this is very important! I learned where the food bowls are. Also very important! And I played with the publicist's plant.

What do you expect to do on the Farm?

I think I will play and eat and sleep.

And at the point the little kitten did fall asleep.

I guess it has been an exciting couple of days for the little guy.  The publicist would like any suggestions for names. She might not use them but she is always open to suggestion.

As you all know he came to be Sherpa the Farm cat for his fondness for climbing - the walls, the publicist, the male person, just about anything. He is a very big part of the Farm.

AbbyDay - Post Redux: A Story I Like

It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week written by the best goat on the Earth.

The publicist is not feeling well so she asked me to pick an old post to share with you today. I picked one of my favorites. It features one of our favorite kids, the very first cowgoat on the Farm - Harry the cowgoat! He is one of MY kids so of course he is a great kid. He is still living happily on his farm. I hope you like revisiting this story.

Once upon a time on a Farm in a mystical land there was born a small little goat. And he was given the name of Harry.

Harry loved his life on the Farm. His days were simple and full of fun. He got to frolic with his Uncle Kevin.

Who taught him the joy of playing in the magic wood pile.

While no one was looking he climbed the mountain of Heavenly Hay thinking this would give him special goat powers, but it didn't. It only got him in trouble with the Farm Fairy.

He ate the secret sand that he believed gave him super leaping abilities. The other goats told him they were just minerals but he knew better.

He ate them and he felt like he could fly!

But then one day as he was wandering around his wonderful Farm he encountered a strange and unusual creature. He wondered what it was. It had no horns. It had no hooves.

It didn't smell right. In fact, the first time he gave it a good sniff IT RAN AWAY.

But that did not stop our intrepid goat, oh no! He had eaten the magic sand remember and he had super powers so he searched out the strange creature again.

It ran away at first but Harry followed it into the high grass.

It seemed friendly. This time they gave each other some good sniffs.

Harry decided that this furry animal was no threat to him. His nanny AbbyGoat told him it was called a cat and that he should butt it. Harry did not think this was nice. He didn't think he should butt it just because it was different. He was going to try and make friends with the cat the next time he saw it. He hoped that day would come soon.

I hope you liked this story. Harry is a good little kid and he does leave the Farm cats alone unlike some of us who shall remain nameless.

AbbyDay: Post Redux - Let it Doe

AbbyGoat is graciously sharing her day until Christmaaaa so we can repost some of our favorite Christmaaaa Carols from years past on the Farm. They feature some goats who are no longer on the Farm but will make those who have been reading for a long time smile. So enjoy this very wintry carol from 2011....

The boys want to get in on the caroling so they asked if they could croon you a tune today.
So I hope you all enjoy their rendition of...

Let it Doe

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But our barn is so delightful
and since we've no place to go

Let it doe!

Let it doe!

Let it doe!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They always show signs of pleasing
But we've got some apples for teasing
The barn light is turned down low
Let it doe!
Let it doe!
Let it doe!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When we finally MAAAAA goodnight
How We'll hate to be penned all alone
But if you wag your tail just right
We won't mind the lonely buck zone!

The light is slowly dying
And my goat we're still goodbying
But as long as you love us so

Let it doe!

Let it doe!

LET IT DOE!!!*

Post Redux - AbbyDay: Christmaaaa Caroling with AbbyGoat

It was noted that many of you are new to the blog and have missed some of our holiday efforts so since the publicist is feeling a little tired and it's AbbyDay and I maaaaed that she could have a little break I am going to give you a repeat of one of my favorite posts. Enjoy! It's AbbyDay the best day of the week! I am the best Christmaaa caroler on the Farm. I am bringing you my solo today. I, AbbyGoat do not need back up singers.

I am going to sing The Twelve AbbyDays of Christmaaaa for you. The publicist says I can only do the last verse.
Pfffft!
She says that no one would stay around long enough to go through the whole song. I find that hard to believe but she has me by the tail so here goes...

The Twelve AbbyDays of Christmaaaa
(I think it should be the 365 AbbyDays of the Year!)

On the twelfth day of Christmaaaa I, Abby give to you

Twelve Abbies butting

Eleven Abbies smiling

Ten Abbies a-leaping

Nine Abbies dancing (the goat dance of joy!)

Eight Abbies a-milking

Seven Abbies a-flemming

Six Abbies a-kidding

FIVE GOLDEN ABBYGOATS!!!!

Four times calling, "ABBY!!!"

Three Abby kids

Two munching AbbyGoats

Post Redux - Remembering Harry the CowGoat

The publicist is not feeling well so I am bringing back an oldie but goodie for you to enjoy. Since AbbyGoat will have another kid(s) in March I thought you might like to revisit when Harry the goat was born. He was the first kid featured on my blog. Enjoy! The publicist will be back helping me on Monday.  Harry went off to live on another farm with lots of other goats and is a Happy Goat to this day.

It was a truly happy day on the Farm yesterday as we received a new member into our midst. Please welcome my grandkid,Harry the goat!!! His eyes are not blue, sadly, it's just the camera.

In honor of his birth so close to Father's Day this little bundle of fur has been named for the publicist's father. She is positive he is rolling over in his grave - well he isn't in a grave but you get the idea. Heh heh. Abby had a pretty easy labor and welcomed little Harry with lots of licks. We nanny goats lick our kids a lot in the beginning to clean them off.

He took his first steps within minutes of his birth, wobbly as can be but he was a real trouper! He made his way over to Abby's udder for his first drink of her rich milk with that nutrient rich colostrum.

The publicist thinks he is a little cutie. He is smaller than Kevin was when he was born.

You can sure tell from looking at the little guy that there is NO doubt as to which buck is his daddy.

They are like little goat doppelgangers aren't they? This is Luke when he first arrived at the Farm. He was two months old when he first came to us.

He is of course a very proud daddy goat.

The photos are not as good as the could be as they were taken in the barn in the dark with the flash. The publicist will have much better ones tomorrow when she takes the kid out for his first walk in the sun. I guess it is the year of the buck at the Happy Goats Farm.
