AbbyDay - Snow? No Snow Will Stop AbbyGoat!

It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week. And this post is written by the best goat in the world.
But you know that.

You all know by now that we had a bit of snow fall around the Farm.
Those silly boys were afraid of the snow.
Silly kids!
I am AbbyGoat - I am not afraid of anything!

In fact, I went into the garden in the snow and had me some frozen snacks!

Have you ever enjoyed frozen kale?
You should - it's very tasty!
I nibbled through my appetizer and then went on to the entree.

Cauliflower leaves!
They were extra crunchy - just the way I like them.

How about you? Do you like cauliflower leaves?
I highly recommend them!

After my main course it was time for dessert.
The garden is a wonderful place for a goat.
What did I find for my sweet ending?

CORN!
There is nothing better than corn stalks.
Usually the male person has them down by now but lucky for me they were still standing.

Mmmm, corn!
Those corn stalks made for a delicious end to my meal in the garden.
But truth be told I really didn't want to leave.

I begged the publicist to let me stay in there.
But she said no.

Bummer.
I turned to leave with a snack still in my mouth.
It was a good visit though.
I hope I can go back again!

Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase, publicist.
All of that yummy food for the eating.
May I go back again?

Bernadette Discovers the Garden

The publicist has been going into the dying garden to get us treats every day.
We are very happy about this.
One day a certain little goat had escaped.

SHE FOLLOWED THE PUBLICIST!
Right into the garden.

I am not sure she was a happy goat in there though.
It was big.
It was scary.
It was new.

She wandered around a little.
Had a nibble or two but the next time the publicist looked up...

...little Bernadette had left!
She doesn't know what she missed.

Silly Bernadette!

Mmmm, Green Grass!

Oooh, Spring must be coming.
It must!
Why do I know this?
Because yesterday the publicist let Abbygoat and me into the GARDEN!
We had a job to do for the male person.

We were to nibble down THE GREEN, GREEN GRASS that was growing in there.

Tough work but somegoat has to do it!

It was so nice to taste green grass again!
I had forgotten how good it was.

Mmmm. Abby really enjoyed herself.
I am sure her kid(s) liked having some grass too.

What is this?!

Somecat escaped from the yurt. Bad Farm cat. Baaaaad Farm cat!
An interloper!
THAT should not be here.
Abbygoat went to check it out.

Sherpa the Farm cat made the right decision and ran far away.
Farm cats do not belong where goats roam.

Then we all did some synchronized goat yoga in the driveway before we went back in our pen.

All in all a perfectly lovely day.

So Who Won?

On Tuesday I left you hanging! Jillian and I were erm, discussing where to go next on our little outing. Just because Jillian is bigger doesn't mean she rules around this Farm. Oh, no!

After we had our fill of yummy bark Jillian wanted to graze on the grass that could still be found peaking up in places. She called to the other goats.

And started munching.

You can see how well Abby listened; she went into the hay pile!

So did Matthew.

I wanted to go into the garden. I was determined. See my determined face?

And where did we go?
THE GARDEN!
heh heh. I am still the head goat around here!

These bamboo stakes are good head scratchers.
But not so good to eat.

So now you know! I am the Top Goat! Don't let anyone else here say otherwise.

Tomorrow: Where was Mallory? Where was Luke?

The publicist has learned that one of her necklaces is in the Etsy Voter Poll this week. She is excited and has asked me to ask you to vote for her if you can. She is losing badly.
It looks like this:

She thanks you. And I do too. I get an extra apple treat for telling you!

The Kids in the Garden

First let me start off by saying HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I hope everyone has fun trick or treating tonight. Don't eat too many treats and don't play too many tricks. heh heh.

The garden has been the grazing hot spot this week! I'll tell you. We are going to miss it and its tasty treats.  The kids had their share of fun in there. They spent some time with us older goats....

But then it was off on their own.

I think Matthew is really showing some attitude here...what do you think?

Jeffrey is really becoming an expert nommer. It's a good skill for him to learn before he goes off to his new Farm.

I hope he is sharing his skills with his sister!

I know the kids enjoyed their time in the garden. We all did!

Tomorrow:  Jeffrey Escapes!

AbbyDay - Abby in the Garden

Hooray for AbbyDay! The best day of the week!

Now if you ask me I had the best time in the garden. I don't know what those other goats were thinking but I went and nibbled at the tastiest treats to be found. I am a master nommer!

 I munched

I gobbled

I ripped the dead plants right out of the ground! Boy were they good.

The little kids were watching me.
I hope they learned something.

It was good to chow down in the garden. I wish we could do it every day!

Tomorrow:  Did the kids learn from Abby?

Goats in the Garden

Well this is really not as bad as it sounds. The garden is very, very dead. But that doesn't matter to us goats. Oh, no! We love to munch on dead plants so when the publicist let us loose in there, boy did we have fun!

I went right for the dried up, old brussels sprouts plants. Mmmmm.

I have to admit I was quite a piggy goat.

But they are so good! And now I won't have any more until next year.
Then Abby figured it out and tried to horn in on my snack. Heh heh, horn in.

Jillian went after the dried bean plants. She is no dummy. She knows tasty when she munches it.

Now Mallory. She is an odd one. She went for

Grass!
Grass!
We have that in our goat pen.
Silly Mallory.

Now Abby did much more munching in the garden but you know what tomorrow is....

ABBYDAY!

So she will tell you all about her adventures in her post.

The Male Person, His Garden and The Goats - Part II

So I now continue the exciting tale that started yesterday. If you will recall we left Mallory looking to the side as she had heard something....

What might she have heard?

What could possibly be approaching?
From inside the goat pen.
Could it possibly be ANOTHER GOAT?!
Of course it's another goat...
Jillian the goat to be exact.

Jillian decided to join her sister Mallory and get herself some of those tasty lettuce leaves the male person was handing out. She's no dummy, that Jillian. As I said yesterday, I should have been over there!

The male person gave Jillian a really big stalk of spinach. Ooooh, did that look good. Mallory thought so too and they fought over it. Silly goats! Not even fencing can keep these two from butting heads with each other.

After that Mallory went further down the fence line to search out the grass and weeds. Jillian found some too.

But then Jillian spotted the horseradish plants! She decided that a sharp, spicy bite of horseradish leaf was just the ticket! But she pulled out the whole plant!

The male person was not happy! He took the plant right out of her mouth and replanted it. He hopes it survives this rough treatment.

It didn't stop Jillian from trying to take some more nibbles, though.

The male person had finally had enough of the two girls eating his garden and he gave them a firm talking to. They backed away from the fence and he left.

But did they stay away?
What do you think?

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my next Goatucation Post. You will find out what we goats shouldn't eat.
