A (Good) Day in the Life of the Publicist - Part III

Boy I cannot believe it is taking me three posts to show you what the publicist does in a day. And I am only showing the highlights! She is very busy and I am glad we goats have her to take care of us. We left off yesterday as we were all running up to the barn to go in for the night. At least for us that is a very fun part of the day because we know that we will soon be getting our apples! You know how much we love apples around here. Right now we are very lucky as a neighbor has brought us a big box of windfall apples and they are very tasty!

Yum! Yum! Apples. Don't they look good?

But I am getting ahead of my story. The boys are already in the barn by the time the publicist lets us girls loose. They are very excited to see us as we dash into the barn. They peer out of their pens and stare as we go by. (Hi Luke you handsome hunk of goat you)

We run into the barn and we all know where to go. Jillian and Mallory head into their pen and start munching their grain.
Abby runs into our pen for her grain
Kevin goes into his pen

And I get milked

Little Harry has his grain in the barn for now. Kevin can be a little bit testy when it comes to his grain so the junior goats have to be separated for this part of the night.

After I am done being milked it is Abby's turn.

Then we get our apples!

Nom, nom, nom!

After we eat our apples we settle down to eating our hay and the publicist leaves for the night.

Sometimes when she is walking back to the trailer she sees Stinky the cat chasing mice in the mulch pile.

I think she likes to go back and do something called reading. And relaxing. After she cooks dinner for the male person and does the dishes of course. If there is time. Then she goes to bed to wake up the next day and do it all over!

(The publicist said she wants to apologize for the pictures being fuzzy. The male person said it had something to do with exposure and light and then the publicist went into some kind of blank stare and lost all ability to understand what he was saying. She is never going to be a photographer. She hopes you get the idea.....)

Come back tomorrow to see Who is King of the Hill...or Queen!

A (Good) Day in the Life of the Publicist - Part II

So today I continue to regale you with how our beloved publicist spends her day. I and the other goats feel she should spend her whole day just tending to our needs but the publicist seems to think she has a life outside of the goat pen. Hmmmm, I am not so sure about this but we will see.

We left off yesterday after the publicist had put us in our pens in the morning. We then get to relax, munch on some tasty weeds and bask in the sun.

Aaaaah, it's a goat's life.

The first thing the publicist does then is have a nice cup of fresh ground coffee that the male person makes for her while she oversees me writing my blog. She is much happier after her coffee - but don't tell her I said that.

She had lots to do this day starting with all of this in from the garden

She already had a lot of zucchinis in her refrigerator so she shred some, she cut some up in discs to freeze and she made 6 loaves of zucchini bread. Most of them went in the freezer for later. I am sure you humans think this looks yummy but I would rather just have the zucchini!

The beans get blanched and frozen in bags. There are snow peas too but they are hidden under the beans. Same with the broccoli. The publicist doesn't have to buy any vegetables all winter long because of how much the male person's garden grows.

Then she unmolded her cheddar cheese and put it out to dry. She already has a Colby curing and will be making lots more cheese thanks to the fact that she is babysitting some goats for the next week and a half and will be getting lots and lots of milk.

Then it was time to let us out for our mid-day graze and check our water. Michael said "hello" in his usual fashion. Silly Michael!

The publicist then went back in the trailer to finish working on her vegetables. And to label and package some of my rich soap. I have trouble with that part because of my hooves.

Then it was time for us to back into the barn. Yay!

Grain!

Apples!

Do we look excited, or what?!

The publicist opens the gate and we all run up to the barn as fast as we can... (the boys went up first otherwise the picture would not be useable in a family blog)

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the last installment of A (Good) Day in the Life of the Publicist. I'll bet you know how it plays out....

Don't forget my soap sale! If you buy a Harry the CowGoat Soap your entire order will be 15% off! What a great time to stock up on my rich soap!

A (Good) Day in the Life of the Publicist - Part I

The publicist laughed at me when I told her I wanted to do a blog post called "A Day in the Life of the Publicist." She said it would take more than one post to cover what her day was like. Especially if it was one of her good days. She is sick sometimes and doesn't do much some days. But on her good days she gets a bit done. Of course her schedule runs around us goats - we are the most important thing in her day! So here is what she does:

She gets up and comes out to get us goats. But Black Cat is visiting so she runs back to the trailer to get him something to eat.

Then she comes into the barn where we are waiting for her. Less than patiently...Mallory jumps up to say hello

Luke peers out of his pen

Michael head butts his pen - he is a touch testy in the morning!

Abby and I just stay calm because we know we will soon get grain

Harry and Kevin are happy to see the publicist

The big boys go out first - Luke waits patiently for the publicist.

The boys get their grain

Then they go for some hay. Hmmm, do you see Luke's head anywhere? I don't. He must really like his hay!

Then Jillian and Mallory go out- but they have to explore the barn first. They do this every day!

Then out they go. Run, run to the gate.

GRAIN!!!!

Yummy! They even share nicely.

Oooh it's my turn for grain. Do I look happy? Or psychotic?

I get milked

Abby gets milked

Doesn't the milk look good?

Then we all go out to our pen.

Then the publicist gets to do non-goat things. Can you imagine? Tomorrow I will continue with how the publicist spends her good days. I promise there will be more of us!

Before you go today I am a very proud goat. My friend Karen at ecokaren wrote the nicest things on her blog about me and my rich soap. She interviewed the publicist and everything. My picture is there. It makes me feel like a special goat.

Don't forget about my soap sale! There are Harry the CowGoats in a number of scents listed in my shop.
