What is This?

The neighbors came for a visit.
They are very nice neighbors.
They are nice neighbors even when they don't bring us treats but when they bring us treats they are the best neighbors in the world.

Do you know what is in that bucket?
Well maybe I will keep you in suspense for a while.
Maybe you will guess, maybe you will not.

I will maaa to you that the neighbors were using a press to make juice.
Can you guess now?
No, not apple pieces - PEAR PIECES!

And they brought them over for US!
Isn't that nice?

The publicist shared them around so we all could enjoy this very tasty treat.
Do you think the boys found the pears to be yummy?

I think they did!

Then she gave some to my studmuffin.
He gobbled them right down.
And then he burped in her face.
Bwamaaahahahaha!

Then it was our turn in the doe pen.
Somegoat couldn't even wait for the publicist to spread them around.
Any guesses as to which goat that might be?

Uh-huh.
AbbyGoat!
Of COURSE!
She at them right out of the bucket.
How RUDE!

The publicist put some pear pieces in different places so we could all enjoy some.
Thelma and Louise actually SHARED.
Shocking, I know!

I really enjoyed these pear pieces.
They were so sweet and delicious.

Oh, you are wondering about little Bernadette?
Well she had never seen pear before.
What did she think of it?

So all of us goats here on the Farm thank our very nice neighbors for the unexpected and yummy treat!

It is apple season.
There is nothing much better than apple season!

Well, maybe corn season,
or carrot green season,
or broccoli season.

OK - I guess we like to eat.
BRRRAAAAAAAP!

Erm...excuse me!

AbbyGoat was amazed at the nice present some neighbors brought to us.
Do you blame her?
It was a lot of apples.

But here is the problem...

AbbyGoat thought they were all for her and her boys!
She would not let anyone else near them

She would yell at anygoat who came close!
I do not think this was fair - do you?

Look at them - they are piggie goats!

Especially the little RUDE-ly!

Just who does he think HE is?

A Time to Wean, A Time to Whine

If you ask me the publicist should have put those boys in a pen by themselves a month ago.
But no one asked me.
She said she was busy.
She said she was getting enough milk.

Whatever.

She finally got around to it and those boys are all by themselves now and I have to listen to the noise.
"Maaa, maaaa, MAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" all day long.

And they poke their heads through to my pen.
What do they think they will gain by this behavior.
It isn't going to be a teat that's for sure!

One of them is going to get stuck.
Boy that is going to lead to some MAAAAAS.

Then there is this:

They get their hay in the old laundry basket.
But silly boys!
How can you eat your hay if you have turned it UPSIDE DOWN?

This does not help....
No wonder they maaaa. They are probably hungry because they are messy and spill their hay all over or they knock their feeder upside down.
Silly, silly, silly boys.

Well, it seems they can still find something to eat.
The publicist says they need to learn. She is not going to give them more hay.
She says they have horns. They can butt their feeder back over.
(I'm inclined to agree.)

So she left them to their silliness.
And she heard a noise!

I guess they are not so stupid after all.

AbbyDay - The Joys of NannyHood

It's AbbyDay, the best day of the week. I am the best goat in the world so I am of course, the best nanny in the world.

As you all know by now this is a goat's favorite time of year.
We gets lots and lots and lots and LOTS of treats from the male person's garden.

I REALLY enjoy those treats.
Treats like carrot greens.
Mmmmm, carrot greens.

But even better than eating them maaaself is introducing these tasty nibbles to my kids for the first time.

Sometimes they are not so sure about new foods.
I'm sure all of you human moms out there know how kids can be!

But then when they actually TASTE the new food - magic happens!
Not to mention cute!
Rudy the goat looks adorable with carrot greens in his mouth if I do maaa so maaaself!

They soon started munching away on their new treat.
Rudy did seem to like them more than Ricky but they both did eat them.

I got silly with them to show them that food can be fun.
What?!
I can be silly!

All in all I think my kids are the best!
Don't all nannies?

On the Goatwalk

May I present to you today a little goat fashion show.
That's right.
Goat fashion!

The boys and little Bernadette all got new collars and they were strutting around showing them off....on the Goatwalk!

Of course Bernadette was the cutest goat model in the show.
How could she not be?

She was stylin' in her new blue and orange polka dotted collar. She knows how to STRUT!
I think, though, that she will soon grow out of her cute little collar and need a bigger size.

Continuing with the polka dot theme I now give you Rudy the goat sporting a bright blue with lime green. It just POPS against his fur.

His brother, Ricky the goat shows that toughbucks CAN wear pink. His collar is pink with green polka dots. (Ignore his erm, commentary there - he really LIKES his new collar.)

Next up are the argyle twins starting with Mick the goat. His collar is an updated classic argyle of purple and black. Just stunning on his cow-like fur.

 Last but not least is Keith the goat wearing a bold red argyle. But he can carry it off with aplomb! The pattern even matches his two tone horns.

We are nothing if not stylish here on the Happy Goats Farm!

I do hope you enjoyed our little fashion show today.
On the goatwalk, the goatwalk.

ps:  the publicist got all of the new collars from Chewy.com! They are actually DOG collars but don't tell the kids. She paid for them with her own monies. She is very happy with them - she likes the bright colors!

AbbyDay - Mmmm, Munch, Munch, Munch, Burp, Munch

It's AbbyDay the best day of the week. Isn't it?
ISN'T IT?

I thought you'd agree.

It has been H.O.T. around these parts.
I have maaaaed this to you already.
All of our yummy green grass has turned brown and crunchy.
That does not mean it is not munchable though.
In fact, I took my kids out for a nice graze.

We went across the gully to eat all of the weeds that are growing in the lot next door.
Mmmm, weeds.

They are very crunchy. All three of us enjoyed eating them
The publicist is happy because we are helping to remove the weeds.

We are happy because we are getting to EAT the weeds.
It is mostly knapweed which is an invasive weed and not good to have around.
But I find it very nice to have in my stomachs.

In fact the publicist has been letting us go over there almost every day.
I think there are enough weeds to feed ALL of us for a long time.

Thank you publicist!
We appreciate the change of diet!

AbbyDay - It's HOT

It's AbbyDay - the best day of the week. I want no discussion of my being a grandnanny again. I am not old enough to be a grandnanny.

It is back to being hot again.
H.O.T.

So hot that all I want to do is sit.
Sit in the shade.

Little Rudy did some exploring but not much.

He soon settled down with his brother.
The dirt is so cool.

Even Thelma and her kids were trying to stay out of the sun.
I don't blame them.
Our temperatures are back up into the high 90ies.

It's too HOT.
I'm going to nap now.
Wake me up when it's cool, OK?

How can a cute little goat like this be TROUBLE?

Well I'm gonna maaa you!
SHE IS AN ESCAPE ARTIST.

All little goats learn to escape their pens.
It's part of growing up.
BUT THEY DON'T DO IT WHEN THEY ARE JUST THREE DAYS OLD.

You read that correctly
Little Bernadette has learned how to escape her pen.
At THREE DAYS OLD!

She did it THREE TIMES on Friday.

She met her cousins Mick and Keith the goats.

She met her cousins Ricky and Rudy the goats.

She met her grandmaaaa AbbyGoat.

SHE HAD SOME FUN DIDN'T SHE?

I think she is going to be TROUBLE.

The Kids Show AbbyGoat How it's Done

Those kids are SMART goats.
They want to eat pine and they don't want to work so hard to do so.
So those smart little ones figured out a way to have their pine.
AbbyGoat had to horn in on it too!

Of course they do some goat ballet in the process.
