Who is Sulking?

The weather has been a little bit nicer than the usual rain, rain, rain so the publicist has been letting us all out to explore for a bit.
Well, not the boys.

The twins are truly enjoying all of this running around but somegoat has been a bit put out.

Just who is sulking but hiding herself away from everygoat?
I will not lie!

It is me!
It happens every time there are kids.
I, the Famous SpokesGoat am forgotten.
I have to write about kids, kids, kids!

Blamaaaah, Blamaaah, Blamaaaah!
I know they are cute and they are my grandkids but sometimes a goat needs to sulk.
So there.
Now you know I am a diva goat just like Abby.

The publicist came and pet me and gave me some grain so I came out of hiding.

She always knows when I need some loving.
She is a good publicist.
I will not sulk any longer.
I am a good grandnanny.

Farm Cat Friday - It Was Bound To Happen

The publicist said it was due.
She was surprised it hadn't happened before this.
What, you ask?
This!

Your eyes are not deceiving you - that IS Harry the Farm cat on the wall!
The male person heard something when he was making the publicist's coffee.
He looked up and there he was!

Silly Harry!
While he was up there he took quite the tour around all of the walls of the yurt.
Why not, right?

He went over to the bedroom.

He looked into the bathroom.

He stopped to enjoy the view from on high.

I think the other cats were jealous!
Sherpa could only figure out how to get on the low wall in the craft room.

I think he wants to get on the high walls!
Just then a woodpecker flew onto the yurt and all the cats jumped at the sound.

Even Harry!

In fact, he jumped the walls!
From the bedroom to the living room!
Maybe he should join the circus!
Was he going to jump ALL the way down to get to the woodpecker?

No, he just sat there.
Whew!
That would have been quite the jump!

How did he get down?
The same way he got up!

The male person had left a ladder next to the doors that still need to be installed. So Harry walked over and stepped down onto the doors, then onto the ladder.

Then he climbed down the ladder and jumped to the floor!
Safe at last!
I am sure it will not be the last time he explores the walls of the yurt!

The Next Top Goat Model

We have these two beautiful does strutting around the pen lately and I was wondering - who do you think would make the Next Top Goat Model, Thelma or Louise?

They both have their attributes and they both can vogue it on the goat walk.
I wonder what Tyra Goatbanks would say to them?

Thelma is a bit older but only by three minutes so that shouldn't hurt her.
She is soft and fluffy.

She knows how to show her fur to its best advantage.
Oh, yes! She can pose.

Go, Thelma, go!

Show them how you strut!

But Louise is not slacker!
Oh no!
She is just as soft and fluffy and a tiny bit smaller than her big sister.

Will that be an advantage?
I don't know.
She can also give the camera a work out.

Her walking style is different than Louise's but just as engaging...

Not that either one of them walks all that often. They are usually hopping!
So, what do YOU think?
Who will be the Next Top Goat Model?
Thelma or Louise?

It's tough, isn't it?

The Twins' First Graze

The publicist and Abby let the twins out for their very first graze.
The weekend was warm and sunny ON BOTH DAYS.
It was so very nice for all of us and it was nice to get out of the goat pen and eat some yummy green grass.

Mmmm, green grass.
BUUUUURRRP!
Oh, excuse me.

For the twins it was all about exploring and trying some new nibbles.
Abby led them out the gate.

Nora and I watched...

...they are just soooo cute.
They didn't stray too far from the pen. It's a BIG world out there and they stayed pretty close to what they knew.

Still, they did do a bit of sniffing and a bit of eating.
I am all for sniffing and eating!
There are lots of interesting smells to be smelled.

You humans have no idea what you are missing!
The grass DOES taste greener on the other side of the fence...

...I do not know why. It just DOES!
Hay even more so!
Little Louise is learning this quite quickly.

She found a tasty bit to munch!
Mmmm, doesn't it look good?

I wonder what she would do if I snitched it from her?
Is that....?

It is!
The Goat Stare of Death? ALREADY!?!
Oh my!
Very advanced skill for a baby goat.

I better stay clear.
I wouldn't steal food from a kid anyway...I was just joking.

The Easter GOAT?!

Around these parts we did not have a visit from a hopping bunny.
Oh no!
We only have hopping goats.
Kids to be precise!
Two hopping kids. Do you suppose we have the Easter goats?

Even though Thelma and Louise are just a week old today they are hopping fiends!
It's true!
Here is the proof...

Louise goes for a big hop!
Little kids can FLY!

Boom!

In for a landing.
It takes a while for the landings to get smooth.
But just look at that concentration!

Thelma is the real flyer...

Amazing, isn't she?
I guess it's because she is older by three whole minutes!
She even hops over her sister.

Silly Thelma!
Soon they will be hopping on their nanny.
Truth be told they are already trying, they are just too little to get all the way up on Abby's back. But I am sure they will succeed.

Here come Thelma Hopping Goat
Zipping down the goat pen road
Hippity hoppity Easter's on its ear!

Heh, I am a funny goat!

Especially with the kids.
Hoppy Easter.

Joy

The twins are enjoying more time out of the barn.
Abby had them out for a bit of sun  - a very small bit of sun because that is all we had.

They are stretching their little legs and learning to hop.
Thelma keeps an wary eye on the younger Louise.

She is a good big sister!
She is also becoming a master of funny faces...

Silly kid!
Who knows what she was thinking there.
I sure don't!

Louise is a little bit smaller and a little less adventurous.

She tends to stay close to her nanny.
I'm sure that will change as she gets older.
Abby is a very good nanny.

Farm Cat Friday - Sherpa and Harry Help (?)

It's time for another Farm Cat Friday!
Today I am going to show you those two crazy Farm Cats, Sherpa and Harry "helping" the publicist paint in the yurt.

I am sure she REALLY appreciated all of their help.
Harry discovered that he liked to climb the ladder.

A LOT.
In fact he is STILL climbing the ladder.
No matter what time it is.
The publicist says she never knew such a little cat could make such a racket.
But this is another blog post altogether.

He even tries to chase his tail when he is on the ladder!

I am not sure how that gives the publicist any help....

Sherpa inspected the primer.

He made sure it was of the right consistency for painting.

It was.
It was also, unfortunately the right consistency for leaving little cat prints all over the yurt.
Harry then taught Sherpa about climbing the ladder.

He does not like it as much as Harry does.

That COULD be because a certain tuxedo cat is always chasing him.

What do you think?

Twins with Secrets

Thelma and Louise spent their first day in the pen today.
It was a lovely day for all of us, which was very nice for a change.
The sun was out ALL DAY LONG.
That has not happened in a very long time.

The little ones explored a bit but since they are babies they spent a lot of time sleeping.
Abby tucked them into the corner of the goat house.

But twins being twins they had secrets to tell!
Thelma whispmaaaed to Louise.

And Louise found whatever she maaaaed to be very, very funny!

I wonder what she said? Silly does.
It IS nice to see them getting along so well.
And they are just too cute for maaaas.
