Kids at Play

If you can believe it we have had a WHOLE WEEK of sunshine!
We have been the happiest goats in the state of Montana!
We have spent so much time grazing on the hill down to the river that I think we have been out of our pen more than in our pen.

Aaaaah, beautiful weather.
We love it.

It has also given the kids time to explore and play together which is good.
Sometimes their nannies are a bit too overprotective.

Buster Brown and Louise had a bit of a head butting contest.

I am not sure who won but it was very cute to watch.
They are just practicing for when they are big goats.

Just when they were really having fun, in steps nanny.

What a party pooper!
She maaaaed at them to break it up.
But then Thelma joined the fun!

But Sarah was most insistent.
Silly Sarah - they were just playing!

The little ones went their separate ways.

But kids will be kids, right?

There is no keeping them from having fun if they want to have fun!

The Kids Butt, Butt, Butt

Yesterday you saw Jillian and Abby get their butt on. While the two of them were going at it the little ones were watching the action. This is how they learn. And learn they did! While they don't make the big, dramatic moves that we larger goats make they do play at butting.

And aren't they cute while they are doing it? They look like a big blob of goat fur!
I think Matthew and Jeffrey get a little too rough for Emily. You can see her running away here.

Matthew and Jeffrey spend a good part of their day butting heads.

I think they enjoy these butting games....what do you think?

But it is not ALWAYS Jeffrey and Matthew, sometimes Emily and Jeffrey get going too.

But (heh heh) no matter which kid or kids are butting it is very entertaining.

Tomorrow: Goatucation

Where's the Water?

We goats drink a lot of water. We like our water hot so the publicist brings it to us fresh from the tap every morning. Isn't she nice? There is nothing like a drink of steaming hot water just after one has been milked to get your day started.

The kids are starting to appreciate a nice drink of water. And the joys of hopping and leaping from the water bucket holder. Silly kids!
You can see them checking it out. They are so excited in the mornings!

They hop on top.

Sometimes they miss completely and land in the center.

They leap!

They sniff and explore. It's such a simple thing but it makes them so happy.

Sometimes we don't even wait until the bucket makes it into the holder. That water just looks so inviting.

Life sure is more fun with the kids in the pen. It is certainly more entertaining.

Tomorrow: AbbyDay. Heaven help us.

Jeffrey and Emily Get Stumped

As you saw yesterday the kids are really starting to hop around and play. They are so funny! While Matthew is not quite hoppy yet, he will be soon.

Jeffrey and Emily discovered the stump in one of the pens so of course they had to hop on it. Jeffrey got up there first.

Abby was standing by just checking things out. She has been good with the new kids. She hasn't butt them.....much.

Jillian came up to see what Jeffrey was up to with Emily right at her side. Jeffrey tried to hop on her!

Then Emily decided to join Jeffrey up on to the stump. She isn't going to let Jeffrey be the star!

Jeffrey then decided to leave and he left Emily all alone on the stump. Isn't she adorable?

Then she leapt right off to go and find a drink of milk from her Nanny!

 Such excitement on the Farm!

Tomorrow will be Goatucation. The publicist has my schedule all confused. I think she is testing me. Since there were a couple of people asking it will be a Publicistcation. The publicist will explain how she came to be a goat farmer.
