Harry Helps the Male Person - Part II

We left off yesterday's tale of Harry "helping" the male person with Harry having some trouble on the BIG ladder. In fact, Harry had SLIPPED while coming down the ladder....

The publicist was VERY upset!
She did not want Harry to fall down EIGHTEEN FEET.

So she called in reinforcements!
She called in the male person to help Harry help the male person?!?
OK - maybe she just called the male person to help Harry....

What do you think?

So up he climbed.

RESCUE!

But it seems Harry didn't seem to think he NEEDED rescuing and he gave the male person a bit of a HARD TIME.

CLAWS!
BLOOD!
GREAT LEAPS!

Harry did not appreciate what the male person had done.
He jumped to the wall and acted like that is what he had intended all along.

He walked off with out so much as a thank you meow.
That Harry!
The publicist was just happy he was off of the ladder.

Farm Cat Friday - Harry Helps the Male Person

Wednesday was a very windy day on the Farm.
So windy it blew the skylight right off the top of the yurt.
It's true!
I wouldn't lie.
Look...

THERE IS A BIG HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE YURT!
You can read all about it on the publicist's blog.
I am here to show you how Harry the Farm cat "helped" the male person fix the hole.

Now we all know that Harry is a bit of an adventurer. We also know that Harry likes to climb ladders. So when the male person put the BIG ladder up to fix the hole in the yurt it was somewhat inevitable that Harry would....

...climb the BIG ladder.
The publicist found him at the top.

The top is EIGHTEEN FEET IN THE AIR!

She called to him but do you suppose he did anything but look at her?
Of course not!

He was DETERMINED to get to the top.
Did you ever see a more DETERMINED looking cat?

He found a whole new world to explore.
That or a new way to get outside!
The publicist was NOT happy!
She told him to COME DOWN NOW!

He meowed, OK.

And he started down.

UH-OH!
He slipped!

Did he fall?!
Did he get down safely?

Take Out Tree-t

Before all of this storm stuff started we goats were enjoying the last of our Christmas Tree-t. Oh, those long ago days. Days full of nothing but eating yummy tree-t. I am going to reminisce a bit now because I am tired of the snow.

Nora and Sarah were munching away but the publicist knows I am a special goat.

So she brought me Take Out Tree-t.
That way I didn't have to be bothered by any other goat while I enjoyed my snack.

And boy! Did I enjoy my snack!

The publicist brought me several pieces.

She really spoils me, but then again I deserve it!

I just had to watch out that a stupid chicken did not steal MY Tree-t!

It's AbbyDay the best day of the week. I think that I am so hot I could melt all of the snow - what do you think?

I don't know what the publicist's problem is.
I came out of the barn and I was inspecting the hay pile for damage after the big snow storm.
You saw how the snow was trying to eat our hay!

THAT is not to be allowed.
I wanted to make sure it was A-OK.
That is the kind of goat I am.
It had NOTHING to do with the fact that I wanted to eat hay.
Nothing AT ALL.

Then I heard this horrible screeching sound.
It was ungodly!
AAAAAAAABBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYY!

I finally figured out it was the publicist!
Oh My Goat!
She was YELLING.
AT ME!

What does she think I am?
Pffffft!
I am ABBYGOAT!
You do not yell at ME!

But she was not sounding happy so I decided to run down to her just so SHE would think I was coming in a hurry. Not because I was.

It was all a show.

Like the publicist really thinks she can control ME!

All of that screeching and yelling because I was a little bit late for goat yoga!
Pfffft!
Stupid publicist!

We All Refuse the Leave the Barn

It's true.
On Thursday not one of us would leave the barn to go into our pens.
A few of us ventured out a bit, but we all ran back to the safety of the barn.
We are not stupid goats.

Nora was the first one the publicist tried to trick.
She said that it was "just fine" outside.
That we goats would be "OK."

Nora peeked out the door.

She gave that snow a good sniff.

She waddled out a bit.

The snow ate her legs!

The publicist is an idiot.
She ran back into the barn.

I was smart enough to not even go out.
Sarah looked out...

But ran right back in!

Abby and Thelma ventured out a bit...

They looked around.

And they ran right back into the barn.

As I maaaed, we are not STUPID goats.
The boys followed our very intelligent lead and never even poked their heads out of the barn.

So there snow.
So there!

Silly Sunday - I Cannot Bask in the Snow

The Big Snow!

Oh do I have a tale to tell!
It's a tale of a Big Snow.
A snow so big it came up past Buster Brown's erm, dancing shoes.
THAT is a lot of snow.

It started snowing on Sunday and kept snowing right through Thursday.
We were not Happy Goats. We were not even happy goats.
On Tuesday the publicist made us go out on the snow. It was not bad yet.
This is tale of Wednesday.
On Wednesday we ALL became.....SNOWGOATS!

The publicist FINALLY came out to put us in the barn.
We had had enough of this snow stuff.
Just look at AbbyGoat...

And Louise the Goat....

And Buster Brown the Goat....

And Thelma the Goat....

And ME!

But especially my poor studmuffin Luke the goat.
Just look at him!

It is horrible how the publicist let him get so, so...SNOWGOATY!

I don't think I will ever forgive ....is that grain?
Ah-hem, I am back.
The snow was even eating our hay pile!

That is just wrong!
That is OUR hay, not the snow's.
Harumph!

This sad tale will continue...

Farm Cat Friday - The Male Person Got His Wish

What was his wish you ask?
This....

LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF SNOW.
In fact, it has been snowing since Sunday and as of my typing this it was STILL snowing.

The Farm cats are not happy about this.
Why you ask?

Because the snow is higher than they are!
Sherpa went out but he hid under the trailer.
He would not come out from under there.

Doesn't he look lonely?
The publicist went about her business and he was still there.

But she rescued him!
He jumped on her back and crawled up on her shoulder and they walked back to the yurt together. Isn't she nice?

Harry the Farm cat went out too.

He felt the need to explore.
Silly Harry!

He stayed close to the yurt where the snow hadn't piled up.
This is what he saw....

...then this is what he did.

No one ever said Harry was stupid!
It was a big snowy world out there for a small black and white cat.
He went back into the warmth of the yurt where he promptly took a nap.
Smart cat!

As for us goats....

....you will learn about us over the next few days.
It's not a happy tale. Just look at all that snow.
You can't even see Nora's legs!

All of us here on the Farm would like to wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a very special young lady today. She knows who she is!

Soon There Will be No More Tree-t

It almost did hide her!

The Christmas Tree-t has been eat.

But we still have some munching to do.

We did some job on it, didn't we?

So we will continue to munch

and munch some more until that Tree-t is down to the trunk!

It was dramatic.
It was exciting.
It was over the ice patch?!

Silly boys!

As you saw yesterday Buster Brown the goat was willing to do anything to protect his little patch of ice, even stand up to his daddy. But Luke was having none of this! He wanted that ice patch too. That or he wanted to impress us does, one or the other.

He started to battle with Buster Brown.
It was impressive!

Goats were running and horns were locking.

Both boys wanted that ice patch.
For what, we have NO idea!

Then came the big stuff.

THE BUCK GOAT STOMP!
A sight to see.

They stomped and they stomped and they stomped some more.

Until Luke regrouped.

He ran around to set himself up for a SUPER STOMP!

Oooooh, isn't he something?!

They battled some more, but as per usual with those boys something more important came along....

FOOD.

And Buster Brown went back to his ice skating.
Silly bucks!

Strange Happenings in the Buck Pen

Buster Brown is an odd little guy.
Yes, he is very cute.

I will give him that.
But he has taken up a new hobby.

ICE SKATING!
Goats DO NOT ice skate!

There is a little patch of ice in the buck pen and Buster Brown just LOVES to slide on it.
Silly Buster Brown.

Does he think he is Buster Boitano?
Does he think he will be in the Winter Goat Olympics?

We have no idea what is in his little goat head.

We just know that he guards his little patch of ice from all comers.
And that includes his daddy....

Silly Sunday - Thelma and Louise go Crazypants!

It was like nothing we had ever seen.
The day started quietly enough but then....

They BOTH challenged me.

They just stopped what they were doing and stared.

Farm Cat Friday - Who Wears the Pants in the Farm Family?

The publicist wants to start by apologizing for the photos to come. They were taken in a dark room with the flash on her camera which ~~sucks the life out of every photo it is used on~~ is not very good. But the events were so funny she took the pictures anyway and hoped for the best.

When the male person goes to bed at night he lays he clothes on the floor so if the whistle blows he can jump right up, grab them and get dressed to run out to go to the fire. They woke up one morning to see the male person's pants wiggling around on the floor!

Oh my!
What could it be?

Erm, what else?
SHERPA THE FARM CAT HAD CRAWLED INSIDE THE MALE PERSON'S PANTS!
Silly Sherpa the Farm cat!

He seemed quite content in there.
He has done it several days since the first time.
In fact, the publicist and male person are not completely sure he is not sleeping in them.
What gets him out?
Other than the male person putting his pants on....

That is Buster Brown, supposed TOUGH BUCK getting his morning luvins.

He likes nothing more than to have the publicist give him a good scratch.
He waits for her by the fence and if she does not stop and scratch him he MAAAAAAAAS very loudly.

Then she spends some time scratching and rubbing his head.
It makes him very happy.

I think he is a very spoiled little buck.

He is very sweet with the publicist.

Of course it is my Tree-t!
I do all the hard work around this place why should it go to any other goat.
Pfffft!
That Pricilla is crazy if she thinks it is her Tree-t.

As soon as I got in the goat pen I took over.

I eyed that Tree-t up and knew just how I was going to attack it.
I don't care what they all thought on Sunday. I was not trying to lift the Tree-t, I was shaking the needles loose so it made for easier snacking.
Stupid goats!
THEY don't know how to eat Tree-t, but I do!

I gave that Tree-t a real close up look and decided it was a very good Tree-t indeed.
It was worth MY effort.
Abby only eats the best of the best!

I even decided to share...with my kids.
I am teaching them how to be AbbyGoats.
It's the best way to be!

Louise really enjoyed that Tree-t.
She takes after her nanny.

But soon it was just me and the Tree-t.
As it should be.
As it will be.

Breaking News: The Male Person Almost Throws Sherpa the Farm Cat Out in the Trash!

It's hard to believe but true!

Just look at the photographic evidence.

How did this happen, you ask?
Well, I will tell you!
The publicist and male person heard some strange noises in the computer room. Now this is not all that unusual with four Farm cats in the yurt.
But these were extra strange noises.
They went to investigate and they saw this:

SHERPA THE FARM CAT WAS IN A TRASH BAG.
Silly Sherpa!
What did he think he was doing in there?
Sherpa is not trash!

Then he started to chase his tail.
I will NEVER understand Farm cats.
BTW - he did not catch his tail. He never does.....

He did seem to like it in there. He settled in for a bit.

The publicist and male person didn't know what to do with him.
That is when the male person decided to try and throw him away.
You see, it was only a funny.

Sherpa did not like being carried in the trash bag but once the male person put him down...

...he STILL did not get out!
The publicist and male person finally just took him out and threw out the real trash.
Silly, silly Sherpa!

Silly Sunday - Abby and the Tree-t

You will recall the Christmas Tree-t.

Of course we does shared with the bucks!
We would not keep it all for ourselves.
Oh-no!
We are not like that.

We sent some over to the boys.
Ah-hem.

Buster Brown was not sure about this as he had not seen Christmas Tree-t before.
He gave it a good sniff.

Then he gave the publicist a look as if to maaa, "what the devil is this stuff?"
Soon his daddy, Luke the goat was in the pen with him.

Now Luke the goat knows all about Christmas Tree-t!

He checked it right out.

He gave it a good sniff and a good butt. Soon his horns smelled like pine instead of like buck. It was a vast improvement according to the publicist.

He then started munching away.
He knows good tree-t when he sees it!

But he was getting tired of the paparazzi - it can get to be most annoying to have a camera in your face when you are trying to enjoy a tree-t! Out came the Goat Stare of Death!

Oh noes!

Both boys ended up munching their tree-t and enjoying it very much.
No one was harmed by the Goat Stare of Death.
Whew!

Farm Cat Friday - How Harry the Farm Cat Got Nipped

Welcome to Farm Cat Friday! You will recall that on Wordless Wednesday you saw Harry the Farm cat in quite a state!

He was NIP TRIPPIN'!

How did he get that way?
It is all the publicist's fault
It's true!

She put some potent 'nip on his furry cat toy and that was that!
Once he started sniffing that catnip all was lost.

He was soon out of control.

He started moving so fast she couldn't take a picture.

Harry was truly nip trippin'!

Then just as quickly as he got all crazypants....

He suddenly stopped to clean his toes.
Who knows - the way he was flippin' the nip he could have some in there.
Silly Harry!

Soon he was back to his normal cat self.
Sherpa just didn't know what to make of it all.

It is my Blogoversary!
I have been blogging for THREE YEARS!
Can you believe it?
I wrote my very first post on January 5, 2009, where I introduced myself. You can read it HERE if you like. I cannot believe I have been maaaaing for so long. I am so very happy that I have made so many blogging friends. I thank you for joining my online herd.

I came into my goat pen today to a special surprise....

....the Christmas Tree-t!
Doesn't it look yummy?
I am sure you are all very jealous.

The publicist let me munch on it ALL BY MYSELF for a bit to celebrate my Blogoversary.

Wasn't that nice of her?
It was delicious.

A bit piney with a touch of spruce.
It was nice and crunchy!

It also made for an excellent head scratcher.
Nothing like an all purpose Tree-t.

OK - that is enough of the paparazzi!

I think it's time for me to get lost in my celebration.

Usually that Pricilla gets to reminisce about the year gone by but this year the publicist said I could do it. She said that I had to include ALL of the goats though, not just me. I told her I would be a good goat.....so here we go.

The year started out snowy and cold and we got ourselves a Christmas Tree-t.

We also got a lot of yummy hay to eat all winter long.

It snowed. A LOT. And we were NOT happy goats.

We did some fun reviews although we didn't always know what we were reviewing.

We had the Catstacular Event with the Farm cats.

I was humiliated for the sake of this stupid blog.

I danced the rhumba with Luke the goat.
Hubba hubba!

I had my kids, Thelma and Louise.

They grew strong over the summer.

I toured the yurt.

The roosters went a little crazy!

We ate a lot of good stuff from the garden.

I got some scratches and smiled.

I kept everygoat in line around the Farm.

The publicist called me a baaaad goat but that is NOT true.

It snowed. Again!

I inspected Pricilla's mail and found it...interesting.

And soon we will have a new Christmas Tree-t.
And how it begins so shall it end.

What?! I mentioned the other goats! I even mentioned the Farm cats!
What more do you want from me?
I'm ABBYGOAT!

Mud Season?! Now?!

The publicist is not happy.
It has been raining since Tuesday.
She had to break out her mud boots.

Mud season has arrived IN DECEMBER!
It is not supposed to be here until May.

There are big puddles everywhere.

The stupid chickens think they are watering holes.

Stupid birds!

We goats are not happy either.
We had to spend ALL DAY FRIDAY in the barn.
Can you believe such a thing?

When we came out our pen was a MESS!
Nothing but mud, mud, mud.

Abby and her kids wanted to find some dry space.
Can you see me?
I am hiding!

See?

Abby and her kids chased me out of the goat house.
I was not happy.

This is my opinion of the weather.

Maybe if I smile nicely at the publicist she will make it go away.
What do you think?

Even Sherpa the Farm cat is not happy about this rain.
He meowed and meowed at the publicist.

She told us all to suck it up.
She said at least our hooves and paws stayed on our feet unlike her boots which got sucked off by the mud.

Well!
The male person said he just wished it was all snow.
I do not agree.

Farm Cat Friday: ON ALERT!

As you all know Harry the Farm cat is getting very independent.
He told the publicist to, "talk to the paw."
Ooooh, this was not wise.
Not wise AT ALL.

We left him on the top of the goat pens in the barn.
The publicist asked him what he thought he was doing up there...

He just cat snickered.
Then he started to walk all along the top.

He walked

He skulked.
The least he could have done is clean out the spiderwebs!

But then...
He heard something!
Was it a MOUSE?

Harry settled down to watch.

The publicist said he had better get down, she was leaving.
He got more comfortable.

The publicist said, OK
and she left.
Harry was perched at the top of the goat pens.
Staring intently.

She went back to the barn hours and hours and hours later to put us goats away and there was Harry. Only he wasn't up top. Oh no! Harry had jumped down and HE WAS STUCK IN MY GOAT PEN! He couldn't find his way out. Good thing there was water in there.

The publicist said, "told you so."
And that was that.
Harry has not been seen in the barn since.

Harry the Farm Cat Explores the Barn

Many of you were correct yesterday.
Harry the Farm cat was in the barn.
He has discovered that there are MICE in the barn.

Since he is a GREAT HUNTER he has decided that he should explore.

The publicist asked him what he was doing and he said, "talk to the paw!"

But what is this Harry sees?
Is Thelma the goat in the stocks?

Louise too?!

WHAT is going on?
Silly goats! They have hay in their pen.

Harry does not understand, nor does he care!
He has EXPLORING to do!

Up, up, up he went!
The publicist felt like she was being watched.....
....and she was!

The Farm Cats Report on Their Christmeow

I know it's supposed to be AbbyDay but she ~~kicking and maaaaing~~ gracefully gave up her day to the Farm cats so they could tell you all about their Christmeow. They had a very fine day from what I heard. It all started with a very special meal.

The publicist bought them Fancy Feast! They hardly ever get Fancy Feast because there are so many Farm cats and it's more than she has to spend on them.

They were very excited.

In fact, the publicist could not recall the last time she saw all four Farm cats lining up to eat like this.

It did not last long.
Harry the Farm cat decided that he should have some of Sherpa the Farm cat's treat.
That was not nice of Harry, was it?
Soon all of the Fancy Feast was gone.
Those Farm cats are fast eaters!

They had a nice rest and then came the fun!

What? You don't see the fun in a pile of wrapping paper?
Then you are not a cat.

The male person almost threw Sherpa the Farm cat out in the trash!
But his little head appeared just at the right moment!
Silly Sherpa the Farm cat.

He had a lot of fun playing in the wrapping paper.
It was almost as fun as his box.

Later they all got some 'nip and were running around like crazy cats. There are no photos. It was too blurry....
But they had lots of Christmeow fun!

It Was a VERY Merry Christmaaaa!

Hi everyone!
I am a very Happy Goat.

Did you have a very Merry Christmaaa?
If you don't celebrate Christmaaa did you have a very nice weekend?

I hope you all did because I DID!
It was a WONDERFUL weekend for me and all of the Happy Goats.
Why, you ask?

APPLES!
Lots and lots and lots of APPLES!
We got apples on Saturday, apples on Sunday and rumor has it we are getting MORE apples tonight!
The male person bought them for us.
He is the best!
The publicist even snuck me some extra apples on Sunday morning - she said it's because I am a special goat.

Sssshhhhh, don't tell the others.

She asked me if I wanted some extra apple.
What a SILLY question!
Can you see the look in my eye that says, "of COURSE I want that apple!"

I first took a sniff to test the bouquet.
Aaaah, intoxicating apple!
NOTHING smells as good - except maybe carrot.

NOM,NOM,NOM!

More, more, MORE!

It sure pays to be a special goat!
Those apples were mighty tasty!

I think Christmaaaa should come around more than once a year if it means I get this many apples! Not to mention the Christmas Tree-t to come. What a wonderful time of year!

Happy Christmeow to All and to All a Good Night

'Twas the night before Christmeow, when all thro' the yurt
All the Farm cats were stirring, especially the Sherp;
The ornaments were hung on the Christmaaa tree-t with care,
In hopes that Santa Claws soon would be there;
The publicist and male person were nestled all snug in their bed,
While nipped up Farm cats danced on their heads,

And Harry on his ham-mick and Stinky running a lap,
Had just unsettled Pumpkin's long winter's nap —
When out in the living room there arose such a clatter,
The humans sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the entrance they flew like a flash,
They opened their eyes, They ran in at a dash.
The lights on the tree gave off a soft glow,
Gave the lustre of magic to objects below;
When, what to their wandering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
They knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles those paws took up the game,

And he swatted, and swiped, and knocked them down by name:
"Now! Dasher, now! Dancer, now! Prancer and Vixen,
"On! Comet, on! Cupid, on! Donder and Blitzen;
"To the bottom, to the floor! To be a toy, a toy for us all!
"Now fall away! Fall away! Fall away all!"
As cat toys, batted by paw, through the air fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, bat it out of the sky;

So up to the top of the couch Sherpa he flew,
With his sight on an ornament to get or maybe two;
And then in a tinkling it was heard on the floor
The sound of breaking. A memory no more.

As the publicist came, Sherpa was turning around,
He ran from the scene, he leapt with a bound:
He left only fur, from his head or his tail,
And the publicist seeing, she started to wail.
A ornament, so special was flung on the floor,

And he look'd oh so innocent sitting by the door:
His eyes — how they shifted, his whiskers how sleek
His attitude was aloof, his movements like a sneak;
His little cat mouth was in - is that a smile?,
And fluff of his tail was poofed out a mile;
A piece of the ornament he held tight in his teeth,
And the publicist encircled his neck like a wreath.
No, she would never hurt his cute face, his round belly
That shook when he ran, like a bowl full of jelly:

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old cat,
And she forgave him for his playful tree act
A wink of her eye and a shake of her head
Soon gave him to know he had nothing to dread.
Sherpa knew he was safe, he knew he was loved,
He ran to the publicist, he gave her cat shoves
And butting her gently with his cute cat nose
He let her know that he won't ever goes.

He sprung to his box he gave a big sigh,
And he settled to sleep, sweet dreams were soon nigh:
But I heard him meow, ere sleep took his fight —
Happy Christmeow to all, and to all a good night.*
